This book is from one of my favorite romance writers AlexisLeia this is a wonderful story with a very strong female and male leads. It is a Mature book, but that's not what the story centers around there is a very deep and meaningful story behind these characters.

Summary:

They grew up together in the same foster home... Chris Ledford swore to himself he would never go back to his hometown Mountainview, Colorado. He escaped thirteen years ago on a Christmas Eve after spending years in foster homes and he had nothing to go back to. Except for Selene, a girl who found her way to his soul so many years ago. Chris is now a hotshot music producer based in Los Angeles, but when he sees the news of Selene becoming the mayor of his old hometown, he has to go back and see her. Thirteen years ago she was too young for him, but now she's all grown up and he will stop at nothing to finally have her.

But then he left...

Selene McClaran knew how it felt to have everything one moment and lose it the next; she was an orphan with no real home for the most of her life. Chris was someone she didn't dare to think about, because he destroyed her when he left thirteen years ago. He was the object of her first love when she was only fourteen, but he never felt the same and she always thought he saw her as a sister. Now, she is the mayor of the small town that raised her, the town that she loved. But everything changes when her old flame returns and re-ignites the fire that he extinguished so many years ago.
