A man with red hair sat a bar. An arm was propped up on the table and his hand held his head in place.He lifts his arm from his head to swish the liquor in his cup around before taking a gulp of it. It was rare for such royalty to be in a common place but the people inside the bar seemed to be totally okay with it seeing as the man would often pay visits every other day.

Outside the bar a young man with loose curly hair and freckles could be seen. Another stood next to him, he had blonde hair and wore a little frown on his face.

"How the hell do you loose a seventeen year old boy in half a day?" The freckled boy answer. The blonde shrugged and let out a sigh. "Usually he'd turn up by now..." He leaned on the pipe he had. The other tips his hat down to get the sunlight out of his face. He narrows his eyes and presses his lips into a thin line.

"So...." He said side glancing at the other. "Who's gonna tell him..?" The blonde stiffened at the words and shot the other a glare. "You of course. He's your and Luffy's father. You're not dragging me down this time Ace." The other- Ace- groaned. "C'mon Sabo." The blonde, Sabo, let his pipe rest on his shoulder before walking over to the other. He stopped in front of Ace and looked him seriously in the eye. He brings up his pipe and slams it down, almost hitting the other on the shoulder of it. It was enough to make Ace flinch though.

"Be happy I love you and your knuckleheaded brother." He said and uses his pipe to tip Ace's hat up. He got on his tip toes and gave Ace a kiss on the jaw. "I'll go in there with you. Knowing Shanks he won't get too mad. If he's in a good mood."

"Riigght." Ace drawled out. He stepped forward and opened the door to the bar. Sabo rested his pipe on his shoulder while walking behind Ace, greeting people as they advanced forward. Once the two reached the man Ace tapped his shoulder. The red haired man stretched his neck before looking over his shoulder at the two and giving a heart filled smile. "Ah, Ace, Sabo. What can I do you two for? Something the matter?" He asks noticing the look on their faces.

"Luffy." He answered simply to the other. The older man raises an eyebrow. "What about 'im" he asks, scratching his chin. A woman comes out from the back of the bar with a few more bottles with a new bottle of sake. She places on them on the bar table and smiles at the two boys. "Hello, Ace, Sabo. Nice day is it?" She said in greeting. "Evening, Makino." Ace greeted. "Good evening Ms. Makino." Sabo said.

Ace then turned his head back to the older man. "He's been missing..." He told him. The man shrugs. "He's always miss-"

"Its been a day and a half." Sabo interjected, hating how slow Ace was taking this. Ace gave the other a side glance before going back to the red head. He had downed about half a bottle of liquor before coming to a halt at the blonde's words. "A day and a half?"

"We've check everywhere Shanks." Sabo mumbled, seeing a serious look in the man, Shanks, eyes. The man finished his bottle and stood up. "Thank you Makino." He says and pays her the right amount. She nods and accepts it. Shanks walks out the bar with Ace and Sabo not too far behind

Luffy

"It was nice for the navy to give us a boat." Luffy said happily. The soldiers were so kind to give them a boat as their thank you. Luffy hopped on happily, grinning like an idiot. Zoro shook his head with a smile on his face as he drops the bags of food in the boat.

"I guess we're ready now. We don't have a map so it's gonna take us awhile." Luffy looked back at him with a smile still on his face. "We'll just keep going from island to island. We'll find a map on the next island." Zoro untied the rope of the boat and sat it inside.

"LUFFY-SAN!! ZORO-SAN!!" A voice called to them when they began to set off. Both turn to see Koby and the soldiers on the docks. They all gave a salute.

"Thank you!!"

Luffy grinned again and threw his head back in laughter. "We'll see you later Koby!!"

"Neh, Zoro." Luffy said from ahead. Zoro opened an eye and looked in the others direction. "What's your dream?" He asked, staring at the swordsman. Zoro lifted an eyebrow. "Why the sudden question?"

"Koby." He said simply. Zoro tilted his head to the side and looked off into the distance. "I want to be the greatest swordsman in the world." He says. Luffy stared at him before a smile creeped up to his face. "Coooll!!"

He then sat up and looked out the other. " I believe ya."

"Hmm?" He asked.

"Shanks says that if you believe in your self and others it'll come true. He also said something else but I wasn't paying attention. Shishishi..." He scratches his cheek as he chuckles. Zoro couldn't help but think it was cute.

"Who's Shanks?" He said, changing the topic and his previous thoughts. Luffy seemed to perk up at the question. "He's the person that gave me this!" He said taking off his straw hat. "He's also my dad and uncle. And the king." Setting aside the information that the man was royalty he asked another question. "Uncle and Dad?"

"He's like a dad to me but he's not really my dad. I call him uncle and dad sometimes. He answers to both. He also took me, Ace, and Sabo in." He sad happily twirling the hat on a finger like Shanks used to.

"Oi Luffy! Keep up. We need to find food since we couldn't find any yesterday." A ten year old boy said. He had short wavy hair and freckles, this boy was known as Ace. Another boy quickened his pace to catch up to the other. He had black shaggy hair, unlike the other. This boy was know as Luffy.

"I know, I know." The other whined. The older rolled his eyes at the nine year old boy. "Right, food. Fish?" The other grunted in response. "Can't we ask Makino-san for some food?" He asked looking up at the other. Ace sighed. "We can't keep asking for food Luffy." It was a pregnant silence for awhile until Luffy mumbled a "Okay.."

"Think you can find some berries or fruit?" He asked with a small smile and the other nodded.

Luffy swore that his stomach growled at least a hundred times until he found something that looked like a berry. It was big and purple. It had swirls designed all around it. He looked it over in his hands and even sniffed it. "Ace wouldn't mind me tasting it to see its okay right?" He thought to himself. Without a second thought he bit into the fruit and almost gagged at the taste. He even tried to chew it to see if the taste would get any better only for it to get worse. He swallowed it down, even though it was disgusting he was hungry. Ace wouldn't want this. He thought and threw it away.

He tried to look for some more for a few more minutes before giving up and going to find Ace at the docks, since he was going to get the fish. He made his way to the docks and plopped down next to his brother with a humph.

"No luck?" Ace asked and Luffy shook his head and looked down at the water."you?" Ace shrugged and held up a fish by its tail. "I caught one. You can have it if I don't catch another."

A comfortable silence came between the two and Ace's fishing line started to tug. He tries to pull it in only for him to almost get tugged off the docks. "Oi! Lu! Gimme some help!" The younger wrapped his arms around his brother to keep him in place, but to no avail. A large waved appeared before a sea creature erupted behind it. Luffy and Ace's jaw dropped at the size of it.

"H-holy-" Luffy started.

"Shit!" Ace finished for him. The sea monster threw its head back and Ace was thrown into the air with Luffy in him. Well that what he thought. Luffy's eyes nearly bulged out of his skull when he saw that his stretched through the air to where Ace was since he still had his hands on him. In the air Ace was was having a very similar reaction himself. His arms couldn't stretch any further so he was thrown in the air as well.

They both landed in the water and after a while Ace's head popped over the water. "Lu!" He called out looking around. "Luffy!!" He screamed. Something was wrong. Luffy was a great swimmer, he should've been up before Ace.

"AAAACCCEEEEE!!!"

He looked up to his brother nearly in the jaws of the sea monster, his blood ran cold and a flash flew by him and Luffy disappeared. Ace looked around frantically and spotted something in the water. Luffy was on the shoulder of some red headed man, coughing and gripping on to the other. The sea monster fell in the water causing a huge splash and it rained down. Ace swam over to the red head and Luffy.

"Lu are you o-" his sentence was cut short as he looked and saw the now one armed man. "Y-you-"

"This your brother kid?" He asked and when he didn't get answer he looked at the child staring at his arm. He gave a heart filled smile. "Its okay, it's just an arm. A reward for saving a child." Ace was in shock, the man just waved it off like it was nothing. They managed to make it back to the docks and when they did they were greeted with a crowd of people.

"Ace! Luffy!" Makino yelled when the three approached the crowd. Luffy was set on his feet and wobbled forward before sitting on his butt. Ace sat next next to him as Makino approached and hugged the two boys. Are you two okay!?'

"We're fine but-"

"Its okay." The man said with a smile. Ace and Luffy looked up to the man. "S-shanks-sama..." Makino said and hugged him.

"You're the king?" The two asked at the same time. They were now at Makino's, she was bandaging up Shank's arm. Luffy and Ace sat across from the two adults, plates of food in front of them. Well empty plates now.

Shanks nodded as she finished his arm and went to put the supplies back. "You don't look like a king." Luffy says looking the man over. "Yea. Aren't kings supposed to be handsome and shiny and stuff?" Ace asked. Shanks stared at the two boys before throwing his head back in laughter. "I try to blend in because I don't want people bothering me." He says tipping his straw hat up.

"Well you two should go home, I bet your parents are worried." He said and the two boys stiffened. Ace 'tched' before turning his head to the side. Understanding the body language Shanks nodded before standing up. "Alright you two come with me." He said with a winning smile.

Three years later

"Oi Ace!" The now twelve year old Luffy called out. He had on a plain shirt and shorts and the straw hat Shanks had given him in his tenth birthday. Ace stepped out of the bushes and dusted himself off. He was wearing an orange shirt with shorts as well. He also had a hat Shanks had given to him on his eleventh birthday. Unlike Luffy it wasn't made of straw just a regular orange hat. He wore it though. It had been three years since Shanks had taken them in. And now they were considered royals but they did break some rules like Shanks.

For one leaving the palace was one. They weren't allowed to leave unless they had guards. Ace managed to find some secret pathways that led outside. And now here they were at the docks of the island. They knew Shanks wouldn't get mad at them for doing it since he did it himself .

"What's up?" He asked his brother. Luffy pointed to the beach by the docks. "A person washed up by the beach." Ace looked to see a blonde boy unconscious on the sand. His eyes widened and he slapped Luffy on the back if the head. "Baka!! Why didn't you do something!" Luffy winced and they took the boy back to the palace.

It took a few days before he woke up. Ace and luffy would constantly check on him in the med ward. Causing the nurse to kick them out since they would come in every twenty minutes asking the same damned question every time.

"My name is Sabo." He said when Shanks asked him. "What were you doing on the beach?" Luffy asked before the man could speak. "I fell off a ship. Well more like jumped."

"Why?!"

The blonde shrugged. "Had to get away from those crazy crooks. They were one of those gangs that sold people. I jumped off the boat when I woke up and swam to shore." Shanks sat back in his chair and nodded. "How long did it take you to get to shore?" Ace asked.

Sabo narrows his eyes in thought. "Three days I think."

"You swam for three days straight?!"

"Mostly just let the waves carry me." He said then coughed and sniffled.

"Well your welcome to stay." Shanks finally said.

Luffy smiled at the hat and Zoro nodded. "Alright then. It's getting dark." Luffy nodded and looked at the sky.

People let me tell you how much I love Ace and Sabo. I actually read a fanfic about them and was hooked!,yay!!

Also there will be a little fluff next chapter hehehe....

Should I add OCs??,if you guys want me too then put your oc in the comments okay?

And I laughed while doing this because I don't think Shanks is classy enough to be a king but he is strong enough. He also lost his arm saving Lu. * Tear.*

But its all okay now. And question is that woman's real name Makino???
