Man's best friend
TW/CW: death, trauma about a smiley face man.
Let me know if I missed any!
(1st Person PoV)
I'm lost...
Oh sh*t! I'm lost!!!
Why did I ran away when there was a snowstorm coming!?
Why??????
I shivered and blew hot air into my freezing hands.
Guess I can't do anything else but keep going.
But where should I go?
I just kept on walking and hoping to find something.
It worked when I escaped exile, although I guess I wasn't exactly hoping to bump into Technoblade's house.
Keep on walking.
I'll get somewhere soon.
More and more snow came pouring down, and more cold wind kept slamming against me.
Keep on walking.
I was so cold, head to toes. I need to find a warm place and soon!
Keep on walking.
I didn't see where I was going and my feet stepped into nothing and I fell.
Right into some snow.
"F*ck!"
I looked up to see that I fell from a snow bank and into a huge pile of snow.
Guess I wasn't paying attention, I thought.
I tried getting up but a prick of pain shot through my ankle and fell front face into the snow again.
What the hell? I thought and sat down.
My ankle looked twisted in an unnatural shape. It didn't feel broke though.
Great. Now I have this twisted ankle. Just another amazing thing that happened to me, I thought, bitterly.
I carefully stood up and limped to get out of the snow.
I didn't want to put pressure on the twisted ankle so limping would have to do.
Where the hell do I go from here? I thought.
Keep on walking.
Then I heard a small whimper.
I looked around to see a large grey pelt, laying in the snow.
[TW/CW about a dead animal. You have been warned! Look for a bolded passage of letters to know that it's safe now]
I took a closer look to see a wolf sprawled out, blood surrounding it and it wasn't moving.
The sight made me sick to my stomach and sadness was mixed in as well.
Poor thing. I wanted to bury the wolf, not leave it there where scavengers can pick off of it.
But then, I saw something else.
Something that was very much alive.
[You're safe now! There will be mentions of the wolf but will be somewhat brief]
A small wolf pup was nudging the dead wolf and whimpering.
The pup kept trying to have the wolf stand up but it's actions were in vain.
I tried stepping back but the wolf pup heard me and got in front of the larger wolf and bared it's teeth.
"Whoa, I'm not going to hurt you," I said, softly and held out my hands to show that I was unarmed.
The wolf pup growled at me but then it shivered as a cold breeze went whooshing by.
"Guess you're cold too huh?" I asked, feeling sympathy for the pup.
The pup whimpered and went back nudging the dead wolf whom I assured is the pup's mother.
I couldn't leave the pup here to die.
I got a little closer but still far away so the pup has it's space.
I held out one hand so the pup can sniff it and have the pup decided whether I'm friendly or not.
The pup growled but then noticed my hand and begin to sniff it.
Then the pup attempted to bite it but it didn't hurt. It was actually ticklish.
I chuckled at this and the pup looked at me in confusion.
The pup then looked at my hand again and bumped its head against it. I could feel the soft and warm fur.
I scratched the pup's head and the pup yelped happily.
I went behind the ears and the pup closed its eyes and gave out what seem like a puppy smile.
I continued scratching behind the ears before the pup went on it's back and showed the pup's belly.
The pup was a boy. Which I thought of many names I could call this pup.
"That's a good boy," I said and rubbed on his belly which the pup got up and shook the snow off of his pelt.
He went back to nudge at his mother's pelt before sitting down and staring at her, sadly.
I sat down, carefully.
The pup licked his mother's head before whimpering.
He was saying goodbye to her.
He tried digging through the snow to bury his mother.
"Do you need help?" I asked, unsure if the pup could understand me or not.
The pup looked at me before looking at the snow again before looking back at me.
He slightly nodded his head before going back to dig a grave for his mother.
I got closer and began to dig up the snow with my bare hands.
It stung because of how cold it was but it was to bury the pup's mother. That's something that was worth getting frostbite for.
We reached dirt and dug that up too.
Once we made a big enough hole, we carefully placed the mother there and buried her.
I found a nearby stone and placed it where we buried the pup's mother.
The pup sat down and began to howl at the sky.
I watched at the pup continued to howl before he stopped and pressed his nose into the snow where we buried his mother.
"Where will you go now?" I asked. I was sitting down with my legs crossed.
The pup whimpered as he walked over to me and curled up in my lap.
"You want to go with me?" I asked.
The pup licked my hand as if to say yes.
I picked up the pup in my arms, carefully getting up as to not put pressure on my twisted ankle and stared at the trees.
"I can't guarantee you that we'll find a safe place soon but I'm not leaving you behind. I'll take care of you to the best of my abilities," I explained and held the pup up.
The pup slightly barked and I held him close to my chest.
"Alright. Here we go," I said and I limped away.
Keep on walking.
While I was walking, I was thinking about names I could name the pup.
There were thousands of names that came to mind but none seem perfect for the little guy.
The snow has calmed down when I found the pup but now it was coming down more rapidly and the wind was getting stronger.
We had to find a warm place soon or else we'll freeze to death.
"Hey...do you see that?" I asked, suddenly.
The pup looked at me confused like I was crazy or something.
"Over there! Buildings. Warmth. We're saved!" I exclaimed.
The pup wiggled out of my arms and jumped onto the snow and shook his head.
"What do you mean? If we go there, we won't freeze to death," I said.
The pup ran behind me and tried to pull me away.
"Come on! We have to go," I huffed.
The pup whimpered and pulled at the end of my trousers.
He doesn't want me to go there. Why not?
I looked back to where I saw the buildings but I saw something else, much worse.
"No...nononononono! Dream!! No you can't be here! No!" I shouted.
The pup stopped and looked at me confused.
"D-don't take me back! Please don't take me back! Dream, I'm begging you," I cried.
"You shouldn't have left exile."
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" I cried and tried stepping back slowly.
A powerful wind pushed me back and my back hit a nearby tree.
Some snow fell on me and I slumped down, my vision turning black.
(Third Person PoV)
The pup panicked as Tommy fell to his side after getting hit by some snow.
The pup tried to warn him about the large ditch that they would have headed if the pup didn't sniff it out while in Tommy's arms.
The pup had no idea why Tommy reacted in such a way.
He ran over and began to dig through the snow.
He got most of it off and tried to nudge Tommy up.
The pup didn't want to lose another one. He always lost his mother, he didn't want to lose the human that saved him.
The pup sniffed at Tommy. His scent wasn't cold, he isn't dead...yet.
He needed to be kept warm so else, he would freeze to death.
The pup whimpered and buried his nose against Tommy.
Then, he heard a voice.
"Tommy? Tommy? Oh my god, Tommy!"
Phil spotted the young teen, laying in the snow and ran over to him.
"Techno! I found him!" He shouted.
He reached over to feel Tommy's pulse but the pup jumped out and growled at Phil.
Phil stepped back as the pup stood over Tommy and growled.
"What the-," he asked but then Techno appeared.
"Why is there a wolf pup standing over Tommy and growling at us?" He asked.
"I don't know. What did Tommy do during the time he ran from your house to here?" Phil sighed.
"Well we can't stand around here, discussing what he did. We have to get him to the house and warm him up," Techno said.
"But I don't think the pup would let us go near him," Phil pointed out.
"I'll take care of the pup. You take care of Tommy," Techno said.
"Just don't hurt the pup."
"Don't worry. I won't."
Techno grabbed a piece of mutton from his inventory and held it up to the pup.
The pup sniffed at the mutton before standing back.
He seemed like he was conflicted with the decision.
Phil carefully picked up Tommy and the pup yelped and tried to bite Phil but Techno scooped him up in his arms.
The pup tried to wiggle out of Techno's arms but could sniff the mutton that Techno was still holding.
"Here, you must be hungry," Techno said, softly.
The pup whimpered before looking at Tommy.
"Don't worry. He'll be safe with him," Techno assured the pup.
The pup stopped wiggling and sniffed at the mutton.
He took it and chewed it.
"That's a good pup," Techno said.
They went back to Techno's house.
