Thirty Seven
Weeks came and Amanda is still unconscious on her hospital bed.
This time, Mr. Park stayed by her side as soon as he found out who the reason behind Amanda's accident on the day when Alan, Arnold's son, was sent to the Social Workers and eventually to the Happy Smiles Orphanage.
Mr. Park also found out the story about Toniboy a.k.a. Jessica and Romeo Buenconsejo.
"Hey, love. Wake up na." Mr. Park said in a soothing voice. He traced Amanda's cheeks and lips. "It's been three weeks already since your accident."
Amanda's father was fine. He had begun his chemotherapy which was anonymously sponsored by Mr. Park himself.
Aling Delia left him for awhile with her daughter when she went out to get more clothes at home.
"I know how much you wanted to know the truth. I did everything I could to find out what really happened that day." Mr. Park sighed and looked at Amanda's breathing form. "I'll tell you everything as soon as you wake up. Please live for me. Live for your parents. And for yourself."
"Arnold is already behind bars. I sent him there when I discovered what he intends to do to you. Romeo, your fucking neighbor, heard what he planned to do to you all along." Mr. Park said, his anger flaring up again, remembering how Romeo told him what he heard.
"Bro. I think you need to go home and rest. You still have to meet somebody important tomorrow. " Reagan said in a straight voice. He, too, was staring at Amanda's fragile state and felt sad at the same time. "Amanda will get through this. That woman is hella tough."
Mr. Park nodded and bent down to kiss Amanda gently on her lips. With one last look, he kissed her on her forehead and stood up. He places his hands on his pocket and met his gaze with Aling Delia whose eyes look exhausted and drained.
"Una na po muna kami, Mama." Mr. Park said and gave her a comforting hug. "Hahanapin ko po ang taong dahilan ng sitwasyon ni Amanda."
Aling Delia could only nod. She opened her mouth to say something but closed it again. She shook her head and smiled.
"Sige, hijo. Mag-iingat kayo ha." Aling Delia said and tapped both of them lightly in their arms.

Toniboy adjusted his necktie and straightened his crisp navy blue coat and stared at himself in front of the mirror.
"Are you ready to meet our client?" Romeo emerged from behind, his lean back flexing as he looked at his cousin from the door.
Toniboy nodded and grabbed his suitcase containing a few papers and his laptop.
Toniboy, together with Romeo, went downstairs and met his chauffeur, Hubert, who was patiently waiting at their black BMW in front of his mansion.
Toniboy, upon further been convinced by his cousin, quitted his job at Mr. Park's company and started his real task as the CEO of their family's corporation, the DMBC law firm which his late dad owned. Romeo, on the other hand, chose to stay at Mr. Park's company.
Romeo sat in front while Toniboy chose to sat behind them. The latter closed his eyes mental scolding himself from lack of sleep in the past few days.
Toniboy sighed realizing how much he missed his girls. He hasn't seen neither Olivia nor Leni since the accident of Amanda. He assumed they probably know the truth and are still mad at him. He chose not to text or call anyone of them and made time to regain the board's trust as he lead the success of their company.
"We just arrived, Sir." Hubert said and both Toniboy and Romeo nodded and got out of the car.
Both guys were greeted by employees and lawyers who happened to walk past them.
"DMBC law firm, huh." Arthur Vasquez smirked when he met eyes with Toniboy who ignored him and entered the elevator.
Looked like Arthur wasn't finish yet when he too, entered the elevator.
"So, bro, what brings you to our humble abode?" Arthur chuckled and crossed his arms in front of his chest and leaned his back on the elevator's wall.
Toniboy didn't answer and Romeo just raised his eyebrow.
"Oh, I see. I get it now. You're Jessica? The girly facade of Jesstoni, I'm right, aren't I?" Arthur retorted and even slammed the wall with his fist as if he scored a point.
Toniboy's grip on the suitcase tightened as he controlled himself. He refrained not to cause a commotion as there were other people in the elevator with them.
"Save your speech, douchebag." Romeo answered as he stepped to his side when the three people with them exited the elevator only leaving the three of them inside.
"Oh! Nagsalita ang sidekick ni brother!" Arthur laughed.
"It's none of your business, Arturo. And you're not my brother, so quit it." Toniboy finally said before stepping out the elevator to the CEO's floor, leaving Arthur's face fuming in anger.
It was Romeo's turn to laugh and even tapped Arthur on his shoulder before they leave him at the elevator.
Romeo whistled as they reached the double doors of the CEO's office and was promptly greeted by Xena Winston, Executive Secretary, at the reception desk outside.
"Wow, I still can't believe it took you a long time to regain your position to enjoy such luxury like this!" Romeo said and sat comfortably on the leather couch just in front of the sleek office table.
"It's just wasn't the right time to do so." Toniboy said and lazily put the suitcase on top of the drawer beside him.
"Come on, let's start with the basics." Romeo said and they began the day.
