"Sinong nandyaan?" an old woman in her eighties asked on her bed. Her back facing Amanda.

Amanda covered her mouth and tried to breathe slowly careful not to anger the old woman in her slumber.

She couldn't identify who she is so Amanda struggled to find any tiny space where she could hide.

The woman seemed to be dreaming wherein her breathing became deep and a ladylike snore came from her.

Amanda heaved a sigh and looked for a place to hide before the two guys entered this bedroom.

Luckily, she found a what happened to be a secret door with a latch sneeking out at the lower portion of the dresser which was moved. She guessed it used to be a secret hideout of whoever the owner of the house was.

Hurriedly, she crawled and crept inside the secret door. Thankfully, her body fits inside the tiny space.

Amanda got up and closed the door and gaped at the room that greeted her eyes.

Inside the tiny door latch is a room full of various firearms. From the smallest semi-automatic pistols to the largest caliber weapons.

It looked like a war was about to start. She even wondered what kind of things Romeo or Toniboy would do with such things like these.

What are they? Who are they really? Why do they own dangerous toys?
Are they part of the armed forces? Assassins? Detectives?

Amanda held her breath when she heard Romeo's voice cooing the woman. She knelt down and pressed her ear to listen to their voices.

"Lola, kain ka na muna." Romeo said in a gentle voice. "Dala ko paborito mong siomai!"

Amanda heard footsteps coming almost at the same time as Romeo. She guessed it was Toniboy's.

"Saan ba kayo nanggaling, mga apo?" nanghihinang sambit ng kanilang lola. "Akala ko ay kayo na ang dumating kanina. Wala ngang nasagot eh. Akala ko, nagbibiro na naman kayo."

Amanda gulped, realizing that their grandmother might have known there was another person inside the room with her. She can feel the sudden tension in the air and sweat  instantly trickled down her face in nervousness.

"Aah, baka pusa lang na naligaw yun, 'la." Romeo said while darting a quick glance at Toniboy and opened the food container. "Tara na, upo ka na 'la para makakain ka na."

Inalalayan ni Romeo si Lola Lilibeth na umupo sa kama at sinubuan ito ng pagkain.

Toniboy nodded and put himself on alert mode, rounding up the room. He quietly checked the restroom inside their grandma's room and peeked at the window to see if someone was scurrying out the fence.

Toniboy shook his head at Romeo and the latter nodded. Amanda covered her mouth while pressing her ears to listen to their conversation.

Amanda felt her heart pounding loudly and erratically. She swore she could almost hear her heart in her ears.

"Inom ka na ng tubig, 'la. Tapos magpahinga ka na ulet." Sabi ni Romeo sa malambing na tinig.

Toniboy's eyes roamed around the room and his eyes caught the latch door unevenly closed.

He sensed someone was there but remained calm and alert.

"La, gusto mo magpahangin muna?" Toniboy asked to divert her attention.

"Ay, gusto ko yan!" masayang wika ng kanilang lola.

"Sasamahan po kayo ni Romeo sa labas, 'la. Ako na po mag-aayos ng pinagkainan nyo at maglinis ng kwarto nyo." Toniboy smiled at their grandma's happy smile.

"Pambihira. Siya yung nagsuggest, ako gagawa." Romeo muttered and held their grandmother's arms to assist her out of the room.

Toniboy chuckled and helped Romeo walked their grandma out of the room. "Go lang, brad."

As soon as the two were out of earshot, Toniboy closed the door and silently made his way to the secret room.

Nobody dared to come inside the room, let alone their grandmother's. That's why it was eeriely weird and puzzling who would know about this.

Armed with the extra cane of their grandma, Toniboy took a deep breath and pulled out the door latch.

Amanda, on the other hand, crept farther away from the door latch as soon as she heard Romeo's and their grandmother's footsteps went away. She was well aware that Toniboy left to look around for a possible trespasser.

Fearful of the firearms capacity, Amanda chose to grab the long cane beside the firearms cabinet, ready to aim for the attacker.

Staring at the room's small entrance, Amanda gripped tightly on the end of the cane.

Toniboy quietly crept inside the secret room with the cane on his grasp leading his way.

Still on his knees and chest, Toniboy craned his neck to see who's the perpetrator who has entered their base, his eyes grew wide when the long end of the cane met his gaze.

Amanda's eyes widened as well when she pointed the end of the cane at Toniboy's neck.

The secret of the cane has been revealed.

It was not a simple cane. It was actually a cane sword which Toniboy's father prohibited him to use.

One swift move of Amanda would lead to Toniboy cutting his throat.
