I Forgive You...

Uni's POV
'Another day, another week, another month, another year...however long it's been. Around a few months I believe this "Disease" has begun...it feels longer though. Nothing has changed and nothing will probably change for a long while. It's been hard without him, without-'

"General uni?" I hear a voice call from outside my room. "Come in," I answer, turning to see who was entering.

A familiar brunet male entered my sleeping quarters, making me smile lightly, "Oh, hello Nick."

"Hey General, I-" "Uni," I corrected, getting out of my chair.

"Huh..?"

"Uni," I repeated once again, placing the notebook in its place on the shelf. "Call me uni, no need for that general crap."

Nick chuckled lightly, a light blush forming at his cheeks, "Hehe, sorry, guess i got used to calling you that..!"

I couldn't help but chuckle along with him as I walked over, "Well, why should I be called general if I don't even have an army anymore?"

"That doesn't mean anything, as long as you have your pride and leadership..I'm pretty sure we all consider you a general still..!"

I didn't respond for a moment as I took in what he said, making me smile a bit brighter as I realized what it meant.

I gently ruffled his hair, "Thank you, but I'd prefer Uni."

Nick nodded as he pulled away with a quiet chuckled and began to fix his hair, "Alright Ge- Uni, Sargent Gray wanted to speak to you."

"I believe he's outside?" I questioned, walking past him. Nick gave me a quick nod, "Yep, still trying to fix the helicopter with AK."

"Those two will be there for weeks," I commented, before giving a quick wave and leaving. I walked past a few doctors, greeting them a friendly wave and 'morning to ya'.

"Sargent Gray! Ak!" I called out once I exited the grand building (forgot the name). "Over here General Uni!"

I looked over at the helipad to see Gray waving me over to them. "Just working up on the helicopter, trying to add in some new repairs."

I nodded to him, heading over, "It seemed to be working fine when I last checked, sargent."

"You can never be too repaired," AK commented, patting the helicopter before heading back to repairing the helicopter.

"What was it you needed to speak of?" I asked to Gray, resting my hands on my hips. "Well, AK and I were thinking of heading out, looking for some extra medical supplies," Gray explained.

"What? Why? We already have enough, and the scientist-" "I know, I know! But now that Barney's here and getting fixed up, who knows how much equipment they'll use to fix him!"

I hummed quietly, thinking to the pros and cons of doing such a mission.

"Alright, I'll come, but Nick and the others should be informed of this," I said, turning to walk back inside, but a hand on my shoulder stopped me. "No! Nick didn't want us to go, that's why we asked you General Uni..!"

I turned to look back at Gray, then glanced over at AK, "You know how unsafe this is? We could get attack or even killed and no one, but us, will know where we are!"

"You can come, or you can stay," AK barged in, wiping his hands on his shirt before crossing them over his chest. "As long as you don't say a word, got it?"

I sighed quietly. 'They could get killed on their own...dang it uni'

"Alright, but no more after this, alright sargent?" I said sternly, him nodding in response. "Won't happen again General, thank you very much."

'I thought pretending to still be a General was crazy, well, now i'm doing something even worse. I won't right it down, since Sargent Gr-'

I erase his name.

'-someone wished for no one to know about this supply run, it all honesty it can be a HUGE help to this group. We are running a bit low and when I last checked, they still weren't even half done with Barney.'

I looked up at the clock. '11:56'

'11:56, time to go, hope I can write in this again...'

I close the notebook, placing it back on the shelf. I go to my chest, which contained my backpack and weaponry.

I grab a simple hand gun and take my ax before grabbing my backpack and putting it on. There was a light knock on the door, before two people entered in.

"Ready to go, Uni?" AK asked, looking up and down the hall before closing the door gently. "Ready as I'll ever be."

We walked down the hall once we know our destination and how long it'll take us. They said it'd be around sunrise we'd be back, before anyone was awake. There was a voice in the back of my head saying otherwise.

"Through here," Gray said, guiding us out of the building and off the grounds. He led us to where no guards were, which was rather hard since we had doubled our patrol ever since seeing Doctor Ross.

"How'd you guys know how to get out? The patrol was doubled.." I questioned once we were off the grounds. "They may be patrollers, but they're not the best at night," AK responded.

'Guess they do need more training..' I thought. "I'll have to look into that then."

Gray chuckled quietly at my comment, "Don't change to much, it's nice being able to go out without others worrying."

"Uh-hu, that's until we get attacked by a hoard," I responded, quickly doing a walker impression, making the two chuckle.

"Soooo scary," AK commented, pretending to act scared.

"You better be, I'm so hungry I could eat you both."

We continued walking to our destination, cracking up jokes and mentioning somethings about life before this mess. As much as I hate to admit, it was really nice.

"Alright guys, weapons ready," AK said, pulling out his rainbow pistol.

"You ever gonna tell us where you got that?" I asked, taking out my choice of weaponry. "Nope," He simply answered, opening the door to the hospital.

"Let's make this quick and quiet," Gray said, entering the building first. "Wouldn't dream of making a sound," AK nodded, entering in after me.

"I'll take this hall," I said, gesturing to the one on our right. "Meet up back here, got it?"

The two nodded before choosing their own halls to scavenge. I entered the hall, taking a quiet step after another.

My gun was raised above me, pointing at each room as I passed. About four doors down and nothing was in any of them.

"Must have been raided already.." I said to myself, entering the fifth room.

Inside was like any other room. A mess, blood, and a few body parts scattered about. I pulled the collar of my shirt over my nose in an attempt to block the retching smell.

The bodies looked odd though...as if they were, chopped purposely.

"Well, well, well~"

I turned around, aiming my weapon at the person behind me.

"If it isn't Uni, how ya' been old pal?"

"C-cory?"

It was, the familiar backstabbing camera face male. He still wore the same uniform I had given him when he joined the military, but it was now torn and stained with red.

"Didn't expect to find you here of all places? Where's the rest of ya'?"

I couldn't help but growl quietly as I tightened my grip on the gun, "WHat about you? Where's your little team?"

"I wouldn't consider it little anymore," Cory commented, stepping closer to me.

I stepped back in response, my hands beginning to shake.

"Soldier, back down," I snapped, making Cory laugh.

"Soldier He calls me...Not anymore, I'm a leader Uni, a better one that you could have ever been!" He aimed his weapon at me. IN rage? In fear? I could no longer tell.

"Cory, put the weapon down before I-" "Shoot? Go ahead Uni, you don't have the guts."

He was right, I didn't. I aimed it directly at his smirking face, closing one eye in instinct as I tried to pull the trigger. I couldn't.

"Why did I ever love you?"

"What..?" I opened my eye, looking straight at him.

He scoffed quietly, looking away for a second before looking back at me. "General Uni!" I heard Gray shout, some gun fire following after.

"Good luck Uni, love ya'."

The lights flickered off, Cory no longer there.

"Uni, we gotta go!" AK shouted, entering the room. I didn't react, I was still shocked and trying to understand what just happened.

He groaned quietly and grabbed my arm, pulling me outside and back to base.

His words still echoed in my head.

'Why did I ever love you?'

'H-he loved me..'

I guess it was too late now to tell him how I felt too..
