For those who might not know him, his name is Lotte Thakorn Promsatitkul, a Thai singer and actor who guest starred in "My School President".
Third Person POV
Lotte was dropped off at school early by his mom because today was one of those days when his mom had to leave very early for work. His mom was a corporate lawyer who was always busy with her career and rarely spent quality time with Lotte. Lotte had gotten used to the situation and made up for his loneliness by immersing himself in books both printed and online.
Because of his studiousness he always got high grades and was known all over school for his academic excellence.
The only other student who got close to his academic abilities was Euro Tanaset. From time to time Euro would get a higher grade in some subjects. Lotte did not like that. Lotte wanted to be consistently the student with highest honors. There had to be a way to keep Euro from besting him in his academic scores.
Today there was going to be a big exam in World History. Lotte had studied hard the night before and had come to school well prepared.
Because it was early Lotte saw only a few students loitering in the campus.
Lotte walked toward one of the tables with benches where students could wait for the school bell to ring for the start of classes.
Lotte set down his backpack on the table and took out his phone from his pocket.
While the other students were busy cramming for the big World History exam Lotte went through his phone to check whether there was any interesting news about his Kpop idols.
He looked up from his phone to see Euro walk through the school gate.
Hmm... something was off.
Every single school day Euro would walk into school with his best buddy JJ but today Euro walked in alone. Was JJ going to be absent from school today and miss the big World History exam?
"Hey, Euro!" Lotte called out when Euro was about to just pass him by.
Euro just nodded at him and was about to continue walking by when Lotte decided to ask, "Where's JJ?"
Euro just shrugged his shoulders.
Something was bothering Euro.
Ahah! Maybe today, Euro would not be able to get all the correct answers for the exam. Maybe Lotte would get a perfect score and Euro would not. Lotte smiled secretly to himself.
Lotte looked into his phone screen once more.
In a few more minutes, precisely ten minutes before the school bell rang, Lotte saw JJ walk in through the school gate.
Wait, what? Why was JJ wearing an eye patch over his right eye?
"Hey, JJ!" Lotte called out to JJ when JJ was about to pass him by.
"What?" JJ paused briefly from his walking to ask.
Lotte sensed that something was wrong between Euro and JJ. Firstly, they came to school separately which they never ever did in all their years coming to this school. And secondly, they both came in to school with faces like they were coming to attend a funeral. And thirdly JJ was coming in with an eye patch over his right eye. Something didn't add up.
"Come sit with me for a minute?" Lotte ventured, expecting to be rejected because JJ only always would spend time with Euro and no one else.
To Lotte's big surprise, JJ came over and set his backpack on the table beside Lotte's backpack.
"First of all, what happened to your right eye?" Lotte asked. "Did you have a fight with Euro?"
"You ask too many questions," JJ replied as he opened his backpack and took out his World History textbook.
"Oh, c'mon, man," Lotte wheedled. "I won't be the only one asking you those questions today, you can be sure of that."
Lotte sidled up closer to JJ and put his arm around JJ's shoulder.
"Come on, my friend, tell me," Lotte coaxed JJ.
From afar, sitting on another bench, Euro eyed Lotte as Lotte placed his arm around JJ's shoulder. Euro wondered what Lotte and JJ were talking about. Was Lotte going to replace him as JJ's new best buddy?
With his eye still secretly on Lotte and JJ, Euro pulled out his World History textbook from his backpack to take one last look at all the paragraphs that he had highlighted last night with his yellow marker.
But all the words in the textbook were just swimming incoherently before Euro's eyes. The vision of Lotte and JJ sitting closely together was definitely clearer.
