JJ's POV

With our dad's help, AJ and I were able to get Euro situated in the ER of the hospital nearest to our house.

After we gave Euro's personal information and the reason for his visit to the ER nurse, he was assigned to  a cubicle where AJ and I accompanied him while waiting for the ER doctor to attend to him.

Our dad took care of the ER financial responsibility after I told him that it was my fault that Euro had a bad fall. Then he said that he would wait for us in the reception area.

Before the doctor came, an ER nurse asked Euro how severe the pain in his foot was.

Euro answered that it hurt really bad, something like a seven out of ten in the pain scale.

Then the nurse asked if he was allergic to acetaminophen which was a pain medication.

Euro replied that he had taken that medication before and that he did not have any allergic or other kind of bad reaction to it.

"I will bring you two caplets of extra strength acetaminophen," the nurse said before leaving our cubicle.

After the nurse returned and handed Euro a small cup of water and a medicine cup with the two caplets of pain medication, Euro quickly swallowed them and then closed his eyes and rested against the double pillows that were on the ER bed.

I felt really guilty and wanted to say sorry to Euro but I dared not talk in front of AJ.

After a few minutes, Euro announced that he was feeling thirsty.

"I'll get you a bottle of water from the vending machine in the lobby," I offered, quickly getting up from the chair that was beside the bed. AJ was sitting on the bed beside Euro, holding Euro's hand, which for some reason made my chest hurt a little bit.

I found the vending machine at the far end of the lobby, very close to the elevators. There were two people ahead of me so I waited in line for my turn to buy the water from the vending machine.

When my turn came, I fished out several coins from my pocket and dropped the required amount of coins into the slot of the vending machine and pressed on a popular brand of spring water.

When I heard the bottle drop into the receptacle I took it out and walked back to the ER cubicle.

I was just in time to hear the tail end of AJ's and Euro's conversation.

I paused outside the cubicle making sure that neither of them saw me standing outside.

"I have always felt something for you, Euro," I heard AJ say.

"Why have you never told me?" I heard Euro ask, his voice sounding tearful. "If I had known it all this time, I wouldn't have agreed to be JJ's boyfriend."

My chest tightened so hard that I could hardly breathe.

An ER staff must have noticed me growing pale because he approached me to ask, "Are you alright?"

I nodded wordlessly because I could not find my voice.

I walked back to the lobby and went looking for Dad.

"Is Euro almost finished with his treatment?" my dad asked when he saw me approaching him.

"I don't know," I replied. "I went out to buy a bottle of water because Euro said he was thirsty."

"So why didn't you give that to him?" my dad looked confused.

"I'm feeling a bit dizzy," I replied. "Can you please be the one to give this to him?" I asked, handing Dad the bottle of water.

"Okay," my dad replied and took the bottle of water and made his way to the ER.

Once my dad left me, I hid my face in my hands and let my tears flow freely.

I thought that my problem was Lotte but it turned out to be my own brother.

I quickly wiped my tears away before my dad could see them.
