A/N: Now let's see how things work out after last chapter's events.

Upon noticing the distressed Kavya, Shreya immediately went over to her, ignoring everyone else.

"Kav-," she tried to comfort but was met with opposition.

"Is this true?" Kavya questioned. "The reason why I didn't have a father was because daadi (grandma) threatened you?"

Shreya looked at Rohit who had freed himself from Deepak's grasps and was looking intently at her, then flickered her attention at Nandini who's back was facing her. In that moment, Shreya made a difficult choice.

Shreya nodded, confirming the news.

Kavya's hand flew to her mouth in disbelief as a gasp escaped.

"You lied to me?" Kavya asked. "The whole story about you two being strangers and having a drunken one night stand and..."

"That was partially a lie," Shreya admitted. "But I swear, Kavya, that was it. I've never lied about anything else."

By this time, tears had been streaming down both Kavya and Shreya's eyes.

"I don't believe this," Kavya muttered, pushing her mother away.

"Kav," Aarav said, trying to comfort her. "It's ok."

"It's not ok!" Kavya exclaimed. "How am I supposed to recover from this? Did you know about this?"

Aarav took a step back in defense. The look on his face said it all.

"You knew!" Kavya snapped. "You knew and you never told me? I thought we were friends!"

"Kav-," Aarav started but was cut off by Kavya.

"No!" Kavya shot. Immediately, she turned on her heels and ran.

Shreya who had been caught off guard by Kavya's sudden reaction tried to reach out to grab her but missed.

"Kavya!" Shreya shouted but it fell on deaf ears. So, she started running after Kavya. Unfortunately, her heels weren't much help so she lagged slightly behind.

Aarav was also about to give chase when he heard his name being called by his father. He instantly froze in his spot.

Rohit who was silent moments ago suddenly pushed past everyone and also started chasing after Kavya.

"Kavya stop!" Rohit called out.

Instead of answering, Kavya pushed the elevator button to bring her down. When she noticed Rohit and Shreya was getting too close, she frantically hit the close button until the lift doors closed after her, forcing her parents to take the next lift.

"If anything happens to Kavya," Nandini warned. "I won't spare you. I spared you once when you caused Rohit's accident. Not this time."

Deepak could only let out a menacing smile.

"If you hadn't schemed your way through life," Deepak returned. "You wouldn't end up in this position."

Nandini stood planted as she watched Deepak leave with Aarav.

By the entrance of the building, Tania had just got into her car without realizing what had just transpired upstairs. When she saw a teary eyed Kavya racing out of the entrance, she was confused. When did she arrive? Only when Shreya and Rohit appeared, frantic, that she realized something must have happened.

"Rohit?" Tania called out. "Shreya? What happened?"

Shreya immediately ran up to Tania.

"Did you see which way Kavya went?" Shreya frantically called out.

Tania nodded and pointed in the direction where Kavya had just ran past. Shreya tried running after her but tripped due to the uneven road. Rohit immediately went up to her and helped her up.

He signalled the valet and the valet quickly passed him the keys to Shreya's car. Rohit had to basically manhandled her into the car as all Shreya wanted to do was to go after Kavya while she was hurt. Without wasting anymore time, Rohit tore away from the building and they begun frantically searching the roads.

It didn't take long before they spotted Kavya walking by the side of the road.

"Kav!" Rohit called out. "Stop!"

Kavya ignored him and picked up her pace again, this time she chose to dart in between housing complex.

"Shit!" Rohit cursed under his breath as he knew he couldn't get to her with the car.

Shreya, without thinking of the consequences, threw open the door only to be met with a loud blaring horn. Rohit immediately reached over and shut the door. Almost instantaneously, a lorry barreled past the car.

"What the hell were you thinking?" Rohit shouted at her. "Can you please stop causing more trouble?!"

"Then tell me what else am I supposed to do?" Shreya snapped back. "Kavya is out there confused and heartbroken! We have no idea where she went and not to mention how dangerous it is for her to be alone!"

Shreya was right but Rohit couldn't let his emotion take over him. If he wanted to find his daughter, he would need to remain calm.

"I'm contacting the police," Rohit decided. "And you're hurt."

Back at the HQ, Tania waited until Deepak exited the building. Rather than call out to them like she did with Rohit and Shreya, she walked up to him.

"What did you do?" Tania spat accusingly.

Beside Deepak, Aarav's ears perked at the voice.

"He didn't do anything," Aarav defended. "Why is is that when something happens, you blame him?"

Tania was taken aback by Aarav's sudden assertion.

"I accidentally let it slip," Deepak revealed.

"What?" Tania asked, confused.

Deepak gave her a pointed look. It was only then that Tania understood what he meant.

"In front of Kavya?" Tania continued.

"I didn't realize she was there," Deepak stated. "I was trying to get at Nandini and Rohit. I had never intended for Kavya to get involved, I'd never do anything intentionally to hurt her."

Nandini Sehgal was there?

Now, Tania could understand how the situation got so out of hand in such a short period of time. Deepak could never pass up an opportunity to disgrace Nandini. After all, to him, she was the root of all his problems. Deepak hated her even more than he hated Rohit.

When Shreya's car returned to the building in such a short time, the trio initially thought Kavya had been found. However judging on the look on Rohit and Shreya's faces, they knew something was wrong.

"Where's Kavya?" Aarav called out, panicked.

"We lost her," Rohit replied, matter of fact. "She slid down one of those side roads and ran into some housing complex."

"Then," Aarav stammered. "What are you doing back here? You should be looking for her."

"I've called the police and Shreya's injured," he informed the boy. "I know what I'm doing."

Aarav couldn't take it anymore. Between his family's stupid fights and everyone treating him like a child, he couldn't help but started sprinting towards the direction Shreya's car had came from.

"Aarav!"

He heard Tania and Deepak's voice call after him but he didn't care. His priority was to get to Kavya.

However, once he made it to the main road, he realized it was easier said than done. Where in the world was she? He had absolutely no idea which street she went down or which housing complex she escaped into. Shit! He could have gotten clearer instructions from Rohit Sehgal. Aarav stood on the spot, wrecking his brain for ideas. He had none.

"KAVYA!" Aarav screamed at the top of his lungs, praying she would hear and answer him.
