Plans to Get Home
Taehyung's Perspective
What was I supposed to say? I couldn't determine if his dark, brown eyes were hauntingly terifying or somewhat funny and mischievous. Mr. Kang had a smile that glowed, his head tilted to the side as if awaiting some sort of reaction from me. And that's whenI realized, he was.
"Uh, hi. How-"
"How did I know you weren't Byun Baekhyun? Your cousin? Well, you two may look alike but I know Baekhyun wouldn't be caught dead in sneakers." Mr. Kang laughed, leaning back in his leather chair that creaked. I looked down at my dirty shoes that hadn't even seen the thistles of a toothbrush to clean them back to their natural shade of white. This man was playful, more than I thought as he didn't let the smile falter from his lips. He is still dangerous. Don't let your guard down, a voice whispered in my head and mentally nodded to keep my composure.
"Mr. Kang, I need your help." I blurted out.
"First, call me Daesung, we are basically family," He chuckled. He grabbed for a small, crystal bottle on his desk which held tiny toothpicks. He pulled one out and started to hastily chew on it as if it was the tastiest thing on the planet. "And, second, what might be the help you need? If you want me to help you get a cat out of a tree, you're on your own. I hate heights."
I didn't know how to really reply to that, but I cleared my throat and sighed. I wanted to do everything in my power to accomplish what I had planned today and hopefully, I was able to persuade his mind. I was going to "bat my eyelashes" like she told me, but maybe I could appeal to him by using the same way he was against him. The way Daesung was, we were basically the same; playful and easy going.
"Alright, Daesung," That made him smirk a little as he continued to chew on his wooden stick. "My father, you remember him?"
"Ah, that little blubbering baby that wets himself whenever I am in his presence and desires to have hair like me?" My eyebrows furrowed at his description as no way would my father be like that. He seemed to confuse himself, but blinked a few times and snapped his fingers. "No, wait. That's my chauffeur. Poor bald, little man," He sighed, placing a hand to his chest and faking heart break. "Yes, I remember your dad. That conceited asshole. How could I forget? He turned everyone against me and stole my business."
"Well, he's framed me for what he's been doing. It's some sort of revenge plot," I gulped as he stared at me more, just listening. "As someone as powerful and smart as you, I was hoping you could help." I smiled a little as he did the same, chuckling in amusement.
"Why can't you be my son?" He grinned, pointing the chewed toothpick at me. "Handsome, adorable, and a charmer? All 3 wrapped in one is like the perfect present for any girl," I wasn't expecting any of this when I walked into his office. The way he is acting makes me feel less tense and I thank the heavens that he isn't as scary upfront. But behind the doors, I'm sure he is one intimidating man. "What do you think I can do exactly? I know your father is friends with basically every cop Seoul has to offer and not to mention more money than Kwon Jiyong. You know him right? Handsome guy, dark red hair, tattoos all over and a smirk for days." Daesung stared into nothingness as if Jiyong had a hold on his heart.
"Uh," I chuckled somewhat not sure as to how to start once more. "Yes, I know him, but Mr. Ka-..Daesung, I think you have more influence than my father."
This caught his attention as his dark eyes searched my face, or so I believed as they were basically hidden under his mop of hair. He flicked the toothpick he had been chewing on into the silver bin near him and scooting forward to place his chin on his resting hand.
"Continue, dear. I am listening." His voice was lighter, as if taking on a new persona. My father must have hated being under his rule. My father wasn't one for games or jests as he had a yard long stick up his ass. Daesung was the more teasing type as that would have gotten on my father's nerves. But me? I was enjoying every second as Daesung actually wanted to hear me out.
"You are someone that raised a failing business from the ground into a prized industry," I had to think back many years ago to what I learned from my father. It was hard to recollect memories I didn't care about or hated, but if it was going to help me out now, I had to dig deep. "You've made connections only people dreamed of creating, even after my father backstabbed you, you came back and still, you are higher than he ever was. I see you as a strong person that would be willing to help anyone and achieve anything."
"Well, damn," Daesung smiled, obviously enjoying all of the attention and flattering. Honestly, I was all about kissing his ass right now, because failing wasn't an option right now. To get back to my old life, my friends, my future career, my girl...I had to have some backbone. "When you came in here, I was expecting some cocky and foolish boy like your father, but I believe I am staring at the business man I wasn't expecting to meet. Flattery is a common way to win people over, and a perfect example when it comes to business. Always appease to the boss and you get a promotion." Daesung laughed, standing up and striding over to a small bar that was lined with golden liquids and vintage wines that even some celebrities probably couldn't get their hands on.
I watched as he poured himself a half a glass of amber spirits, taking a sip and releasing a pleased sigh. He stretched his body for a second before reaching around the bar to pull out a bag of what looked like candy, his suave smile turning into a childish one.
"Want one?" He asked, gesturing to his bag of sweets.
"Nah, I'm good." I smiled. He shrugged and sat back in his seat, pulling out a lollipop and pulling off the paper to reveal a sunburst orange colored candy.
"Some would say that helping out a boy would be stupid, but luckily for me, you're not one. I think, Mr. Taehyung, you're my new greatest project. I will help you."
That answer was like music to my ears and I couldn't help the relieved sigh that left my mouth along with the raise of my lips. Finally, some good news out of this chaotic mess. My father's mentor was willing to help me bring him down and to take back the life I desired. It's been the craziest of weeks as I have been sheltered away from society in an abandoned restaurant, with a mysterious girl with no name, and just having to avoid patrol cars on the streets. I hated every second of it as I wanted nothing more than my bed and Ona. It pained me everyday to stay away from her, and as the second week of my bounty comes, I'm hoping I don't go for a third.
"Thank you." I said, basically a whisper as I was in shock and just exhausted in general.
Daesung shook his head and waved his hand as if to swipe away dust in the air. "Anything for you, Taehyung. You've shown me what I am capable of, even when I thought I wasn't those things. Plus, taking down that son of a bitch will be the highlight of my life. Besides getting all of those free Doraemon toys for Christmas one year. Ah, good times." He smiles to the point of his eyes disappearing and turning into crescent moons. He was an odd guy, but how young he was and how relaxing he came off to be, I was happy to work with him and for him to not be an exact match of my dad's.
"Did you have any ideas?" I asked, reaching over his desk to pull a wrapped candy from the bag of candy he had. I was excited and when I was excited, I got hungry. I needed something to chew on as we came up with a plan.
"Thousands, millions probably. I am a clever guy after all," He chuckled. "Your dad is powerful, no doubt, and smart, but he is old school. He doesn't know the new games we newly refined CEOs like to play. We give him something unexpected." He pointed at me, as if I should get it, but I was at a loss for words as I chewed on the caramel sweet. I had no experience in this business, let alone coming up with plans.
"What would the outcome be for him in these plans of yours?" I asked, curious to see what he thought in his mind.
"Well, some involve a hit," My eyes widened at his straight forward tactic to just kill my father. I wasn't that extreme. When he saw my expression, he laughed. "I wouldn't have you kill him! I have people for that, but if you aren't into that, then there is possibility of turning the tables. Having him arrested instead of you, maybe get him out of the country as well."
"That's a better option." I chuckled, crumpling the wrapper in my hand as I felt my heart rate slow down.
A knock behind us that sounded soft made itself known to us. "Come in!" Daesung called out. Soon enough Yoongi's girl stepped in, a subtle smile on her face as she closed the door behind her and practically skipped inside, her left knee high slipping a bit. "And who is this beautiful woman?" Daesung looked her up and down, basically studying every inch of her.
"Watch those eyes, sir. This view is reserved for someone else." She giggled, pulling the other chair that sat beside me and moved it so it was closer.
"He must be really lucky then," He said, grinning bigger as she raised an eyebrow at him. "Or her, I don't judge. I approve of everything." The silence then sat as Daesung basically undressed her with his eyes and she just stared back as just as hard as if her eyes were chipped glass. "What do I call you then?"
"B, is fine." She sighed. I turned my head towards her, questions swimming through my head as I wanted to know the full name, but she must have known I got curious. She turned to me and shook her head.
"And what does that stand for? Beautiful? Bella?" Daesung said the words in a slow English and Italian, trying to entice her yet still she just smirked in amusement, but I could tell she was annoyed as well.
"It means," She leaned forward, leaning her elbows on her knees as she smiled a little more. "'Bitch needs to know what's going on'. Did you figure out a plan yet?" I stared at her as she said the sentence in English, very well-spoken as well that it shocked me. When she looked at me, I pointed to Daesung who was far from angry. He was enjoying "B's" sassy side.
"He has some plans, but we haven't chosen a specific one yet." I just wanted to choose one so we can execute it perfectly and so I can run home to Ona and my friends. I needed them so bad.
"Let's here some." B smiled and soon enough we were coming up with some plans that would be so perfect.

Ona's Perspective
I sat at the edge of pool, moving my feet around in the cool waters as I listened to the distant birds chirp away a melody and the breeze to pick my hair up and blow around me. Its been a while since I came here, but I knew it would feel better. The last time was when I told Jimin about me and Taehyung. How long ago that was. I was in the same spot as before, but with different stressful thoughts. This time I worried about my boyfriend's safety. I haven't heard from him in the longest time. IT was like he was wiped off the face of the Earth. Not even Yoongi's contact has called since the news of their plan.
Another gust of cool wind blew and I relished in it. It was peaceful to be here at our house. The grass had overgrown as Taehyung wasn't here to actually trim the green. The pool was littered with leaves, but I was able to collect them all and to sigh in peace as the tranquil blue waters lapped against the side of the pool.
I wanted to anything and everything to make this nightmare end. I just had to help Taehyung, but everyone told me to stay out of it. When Jimin heard about me and Mickey going to visit Jackson, he was upset, but he didn't go off like I would expect him to. He just hugged me and sighed. The other boys have tried to distract me and while I appreciated the sentiment, I was getting suffocated.
Jin would want to teach me to cook thousands of pastries, Namjoon and Hoseok tried to show me their music they worked on, Jungkook begged me to play video games with him, and even Yoongi was trying to talk to me about everything. Mickey as well has been an angel as she pulled me away from the boys and we would just go to the park and draw or just talk about anything besides this mess.
A thought popped into my head as I remembered a sliver of a memory. The night all of this happened I was able to talk to Taehyung on the phone and he told me to meet him here. I'll meet you there. I don't know when, but I promise I'll find a way to let you know. If I'm going to survive this, I need to at least see you. Also, when you do go there and I'm not there yet, feel free to go inside. Well, I didn't see him, but he said if he wasn't here by the time I travel back, to go inside. I furrowed my brows and turned around to look at the great structure. The two story house was always a welcome sight and I loved the yellow paint that still shown like spun gold on the outside. I wondered what he meant by "go inside."
Feeling my toes prune up and done with the cold water, I stood up and walked to the sliding doors that led inside. I had never been in as it wasn't officially our home. I grabbed the metal handle, breathing halting slightly. There was no way this could be unlocked or should I even attempt to go inside, basically known as breaking and entering.
I pulled a little, gasping as it inched open a little. "I am going to jail." I said to myself as I couldn't believe it was just unlocked like that. My curiosity did get the best of me and quieted down the blasting electric shocks my anxiety gave me. Pulling open the rest of the door, I was welcomed to an large empty living area with a fireplace to my right, rocks molded into the body if it. It was empty but felt comfortable with the high ceilings and the dark, cherry wood floor.
To my left stood a kitchen that Kang Leo would die to cook in. It was enough to fit 10 chefs to cook with sous-chefs as well. Everything looked like it was here for a small while but still looked nice and I was amazed by it all. This house was way smaller than the one I live in now as mine was practically built for half of Seoul (not really but it feels like it) while this one was cozy and felt right to just be inside.
As I stepped more into the kitchen, a shining trinket caught my attention on a counter a little ways away. I hummed a mumble of curiosity as I stepped further to see first a white piece of parchment paper folded clumsily on a square. I wasn't sure if this was someone else's paper or if I was meant to see it. I'm sure no one would mind if I peeked just a little to buy some time before I toured the rest of the place. Without hesitation I grabbed the folded paper and uncrumpled it.
My eyes instantly recognized the writing and I could feel my heart beat faster as I smoothed a finger over the messy writing. It was so nostalgic and brought me the teeniest amount of joy. Okay, Ona just read the damn thing. Clearing my mind, I start reading:
My hand immediately attached itself to my mouth as a quick sob escaped. I didn't even hold back the impending doom of tears that trailed down my cheeks and some landing on the letter. Kim Taehyung bought us this home. Our home. I was going to be sick, but in a good way as I wasn't expecting something so grand and pure in my lifetime. I re-read the letter two more times to really let it all sink in. I was outside, sifting my feet in the pool, our pool, not even realizing this wasn't just our home because we claimed it to be, but because it now was official and that he bought it to make me happy.
I cried as much as I could as I noticed the shining glint again, soon taking notice it was a key, a key to the house. This was all so much to process and I felt dizzy. Slowly, I crouched down and held the letter and key close to me, not comprehending this was my key, my home. I gazed around, feeling a warm tickle in my stomach as I smiled under the tears.
Even though Taehyung and I lived together now, this would be entirely different as it would be just us; no other boys, no pizza boxes every where and having to go down stairs to get to the front door of the complex. It was a house we would have and do whatever we wanted with it.
My happy thoughts were soon clouded with the darker side of things. Taehyung was still a criminal to the cops and had a 50% chance of being sent to prison and sent out of the country. I looked down at the key and let out a shuddering breath. I loved him, more than I ever thought was possible. We were so young and yet he was basically selling an arm and leg just to make me happy. Our friends all said how perfect we were together and even hinted to our future, but I wasn't expecting it to be so quick. Was I scared? Yes. But I did I want to slow down? Not really.
The idea is scary, but as I look around the house, taking in the character it held and how natural light flooded in, it was something I wanted.
"Taehyung, you ass." I whispered, but smiled because I was completely smitten with the boy. Under normal circumtances, I would have rejected the idea of living together, just us and most likely would have ran away, locking myself up forever. But after everything that has happened, I didn't want to live away from him, but be near him as much as possible. This house was my safe haven and I planned on making it still be his once he was proved innocent.
