The next morning Near woke up groggy. Slightly in a bad mood.

The night before was filled with nightmares. Terrifying nightmares about a black creature....no. A black monster crawling around the hallways and scratching at his door. Wanting to get inside.

Near felt goosebumps as he walked outside his room and into the hallway. He was afraid that the monster would appear and eat him despite the hallway being full of other kids standing outside their rooms talking and getting ready to walk downstairs to the cafeteria for breakfast.

Near looked over Alternative's room. There was a red rose taped to his door. All the thorns had been carefully cut out.

Near watched as Alternative got out of his room. Looking mentally exhausted. Alternative then spotted the rose and looked at it surprised. A hint of happiness was shown on the always-perfect-score stressed student for the first time.

Near kept walking towards the cafeteria and spotted B walking towards the direction Near was coming from. What was B doing in this floor? B's bedroom wasn't even in this floor.

Beyond Birthday spotted Near. However, his eye contact with Near didn't last long. The older boy's eyes looked up at Near's forehead before laughing hysterically. This caused Near to become more scared.

Once B passed him, Near stopped walking and turned back to look at B. B was walking towards Alternative and said something to him. Near couldn't hear what they were saying to each other. What Near did notice was that B didn't look at Alternative's forehead like he did with him, Matt, Mello, and other people.

In fact Beyond birthday would look at everything- Alternative's eyes, hair, lips, body, shoes- everything except at Alternative's forehead. Never looked at it as if his life depended on it.
