Don't Get Caught
NSFW warning (it's mainly an innuendo and entirely a joke)
Written with consideration that these events take place after the events of the musical, Davey presently being 18 and Jack 19! (I like to think Dave kept selling on the weekend just to see Jack 👀)
***
Jack had been coming over to Davey's house to "study" for the past week.
They would finish their rounds of selling paper before making their way to stay at the Jacobs' household in the evening.
However, studying was hardly close to what the boys were in actuality doing.
Most of the time, they were either locked at the lips or Davey was laying against Jack while he read from his encyclopedia.
Mr.Jacobs had begun to catch on to the boys when he went in to tell Davey that Jack had to go home, only to come in and find Davey curled up content to Jack's side.
He couldn't say how he felt about the boys' being together- if they were, that is, but all he knew is he didn't like that Davey was hiding this from him. If he was hiding this from him- he just wanted to know, he wanted to be a part of his son's life. No matter how atypical it was.
So, when Jack came over to "study", Mr.Jacobs was keen on catching them this time.
However, Jack and Davey were just as keen on making sure Mr.Jacobs did not catch them.
"I...think my papa might be on to us." Davey sighed as he slumped down onto his bed with his encyclopedia ready to read, Jack flopping down beside him before scooting over so he lay on it comfortably, Davey sitting at his feet.
"What makes you say that, Dave?" Jack hummed.
Davey lay back so his head rested on Jack's shins, "He keeps barging in, have you noticed? And every time after you leave, he says things like- had fun today? What'd ya' study for? Does Jack even go to school?"
"Well, Dave, I think we really have to be thoughtful about that, the man has a point." Jack sighed seriously.
"About what?" Davey fretted, looking up at his boyfriend anxiously.
"Well, did you have fun last time?" Jack grinned from ear to ear, earning a scoff from Davey who reached up and socked him in the knee.
"Ow!" Jack cackled, pulling his knee to his chest before hearing footsteps outside.
They saw the shadow of Mr.Jacobs standing outside the door, the man seemingly not aware that the boys knew he was there as they quickly sat up, Davey slamming open his encyclopedia to a random page and pointing to it while Jack looked over his shoulder.
Mr.Jacobs opened the door to find them like this, innocently reading the encyclopedia.
"And they use their noses to taste scents as well as smell them, so they can- oh, hey papa." Davey smiled kindly up at Mr.Jacobs.
"Davey...just checking in." Mr.Jacobs nodded, "Studying going well...?"
"As it always does." Davey hummed.
"Mm." Mr.Jacobs sniffed before exiting, giving Jack a small nod of a hello.
Jack dipped his head in return before the door closed and he rest his chin on Davey's shoulder, "My father taught me not to lie~" He mocked.
"Ah shut up," Davey shoved Jack's face away.
"I dare say, I may be a bad influence on you, Dave." Jack gasped.
"You've just...broadened my views- lying isn't good unless it's to save your skin in a justified manor." Davey continued reading through the encyclopedia now that it was open.
"Or just for fun." Jack smirked.
"How could lying possibly be fun?" Davey snorted.
"Watch this," Jack giggled.
"Jack, what are you-"
Jack swung himself forward to sit completely beside Davey, winking at him before he-
"oH~ DaVeY~ DavEy yEs!" Jack moaned out in a shrill voice, cupping his hands around his mouth and continuing to moan.
"Jack Kelley!" Davey whispered sharply, covering his face which was bright red.
"Hide the blush, cutie, or it won't be convincing." Jack whispered.
"Then d-don't call me cutie! And you are so lucky Les is out with Sarah or I'd-"
"yEeS~ DaVeY tAkE mE thErE~!" Jack moaned, stifling a laugh.
"Why are you even-"
Thundering steps came from down the hall and Mr.Jacobs slammed the door open, "AHA!" He called, only to find Jack nodding at the encyclopedia, "So their lack of arms is made up by the fact they can use their sniffer for- well, for snuffing things out and tasting things- oh, Mr.Jacobs, is everything alright?" Jack looked up innocently.
"Y-You- you-" Mr.Jacobs stammered in confusion.
"Papa?" Davey looked up in confusion.
Mr.Jacobs turned as red a beat in embarrassment, "S-Sorry- I must have been hearing things-" He murmured, "Carry on.." he turned with a sigh and left the room quietly.
Jack paused to hear the click of the master bedroom down the hall before he burst out into laughter, falling onto his jack.
"Jack! I swear!" Davey groaned.
"That was hilarious! And don't tell me it wasn't!" Jack cackled.
"My dad is going to-"
"What? Talk to ya'? Dave, my fatha' hasn't exactly been a very present figure in my life now, so maybe I'm not the best person to know this, but I doubt your dad there is gonna wanna have the talk with ya." Jack snorted, sitting up before cockily pressing a kiss to Dave's cheek, "Not that it would help."
Dave flushed and swatted Jack away, "If he did have a talk with me after you left, I guarantee it wouldn't be about girls."
"Damn right it wouldn't!" Jack ruffled Davey's hair, "Trust me, these things have to be brought up in the moment or not at all. And we's can easily get away with not ever having that talk. Just gotta overdo it, normalize it."
"Normalize it?" Davey cocked an eyebrow.
"Like-" Jack began making loud moaning sounds again, "Oh~! Davey!" He whined.
"Jack!" Davey slapped his hand over his boyfriend's mouth.
"No, no, look- we could totally mess with him." Jack giggled.
"I don't want to mess with anyone!" Davey couldn't hide the amused smile on his face.
"Not even a little- DAVEY~?" He moaned the other's name out loudly in a mocking manor.
Davey flushed before chuckling, "You goof, you-"
"Sh! He's coming!" Jack snickered and quickly took the encyclopedia, standing up as Mr.Jacobs came in.
"And see here, it says the snake can-" Jack acted like he was making a point before glancing over at Mr.Jacobs and bowing politely, "Evening, Mr.Jacobs, something the matter?"
"You- you boys alright? I uh, just thought I heard something." Mr.Jacobs cleared his throat.
"Nothing wrong here, is there Dave?" Jack looked at his partner smugly.
Davey gave him a look like he wanted to flick him in the forehead before looking at his father with a shake of his head, "No, just snake facts. For Jack's report on reptiles."
"A-Alright then..." Mr.Jacobs muttered something about getting his ears checked as he strode out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
"Jack, I swear to god," Davey sighed sharply, standing up to march over to the smug brunette and snatching the encyclopedia, "I have half the mind to tape your mouth shut."
"Oh come on, Dave, we're having fun." Jack moved forward and wrapped his arms around Davey's waist, "You can't tell me that wasn't the least bit funny."
"You're being childish." Davey rolled his eyes but smiled regardless.
"I'm being fun, Dave, you should try it, come on." Jack grinned.
"You," Davey scoffed, "Are not getting me to scream your name."
There was a pause before Jack's eyes twinkled in amusement, "Is that a challenge, Dave?"
"What?" Davey narrowed his eyes, but Jack had already moved his hands to Davey's shoulders, gently pushing him down onto the bed as the encyclopedia fell beside them, "Jack-" Davey sighed.
"Mhm?" Jack leaned forward against Davey, moving his face to rest in the crook of the other's neck.
"You can't be serious.." Davey murmured, "You are so-" His sentence was cut short as Jack pressed a kiss to his lips.
Davey didn't object- how could he? They followed a strict rule of fake studying only when Jack was over. Perhaps they'd make out when they could, but as the last hour had shown, Davey's dad was very vigilant, "Jack...we can't." He whispered before Jack bit his bottom lip.
"Course we can." Jack purred as his kisses peppered Davey's jawline while Davey tangled his hands in Jack's hair, tugging gently at his curls as Jack moved down to his neck, attacking it with kisses before gently sucking on his collarbone.
Davey bit his lip to hold back a moan as jack marked his neck, stopping at his plaid shirt collage, "I'm running out of room here, Dave...I think we should-"
"On it-" Davey breathed out as he hastily stripped his shirt from his body.
Jack gazed hungrily at the other boy's exposed upper body and began marking him from his collarbone to his torso, leaving Davey a mess as he grasped for Jack's shirt, "Jack-" He whispered breathlessly.
"Yeah, Dave?" Jack grinned lovingly.
In a moment, Davey had lifted Jack's shirt off his body and pushed him gently down to the floor.
Davey had a knee on either side of Jack's hips and stared down at him through half-lid eyes, filled with list and love. He moved his hands from Jack's shoulders to how arms to his torso and up to his face, caressing his cheek.
"C-Christ, Dave." Jack was a stupidly-grinning mess, "I didn't take you for-" He was silenced by Davey pressing a finger to his mouth.
"Less talking, seems like you lost your half of the bet, I'd like to give mine a go."
"B-Bet?" Jack swallowed nervously with a smile as Davey reached to undo his belt buckle, pausing to look up at Jack with a cocked eyebrow who gave him a firm nod of consent.
Within a matter of minutes, the boys' clothes were forgotten in a heap beside the dresser.

Mr.Jacobs took a long sip of coffee from the dining room, looking down at it tiredly. Perhaps he really had been hearing things- for all he knew, the voice he had heard wasn't Jack's, it was probably just the neighbors or...something of the sort. Yes, that was it. It had to be, right?
He shook his head with a sigh, "I'm losing myself." Who was he kidding? Davey was a good kid, he'd never be so irresponsible as to not only get into such affairs before he was married, but also lie about them if he did.
He'd raised his son right and refused to believe he could do anything of the sort-
And this belief held strong for a solid three seconds before he heard a loud moan from the other room.
"D-DAVEY~!"
Mr.Jacobs stiffened, about to get up before reminding himself that David was a common name, and since when did anyone call his son Davey? Did Jack call him Davey?
No, surely. No. This was all in his head and he was just making scenarios up to fix his troubled mind.
Silence seemed to only send him into further of a spiral until a few moments later.
"J-JACK- I- I'M- fUCK~"
Mr.Jacobs stood up faster than a bullet, fuming, he recognized his son's voice and he was done with his shenanigans. Surely they were playing a joke on him? Well, now he knew he'd have proof, Davey couldn't lie for the life of him. So, Mr.Jacobs stomped towards the boy's room, prepared to confront him when he expected to find them studying again as if they hadn't been making absurd noises before.
Mr.Jacobs slammed the bedroom door open, "I know the two of you are fooling me and-" Mr.Jacobs' hand could not have flown faster to his face when he found the two boys nude, screaming.
Jack immediately dove for the fire escape, deciding streaking down the street was a better solution than staying.
"DAVEY WHAT IN THE NAME OF PETE DID I JUSR WITNESS-"
"I know, papa, I shouldn't have-"
"NO, NO YOU SHOUDN'T H-"
"I-I'll never say fu- the F-word again." Davey wrapped himself up in the blanket on his bed.
"That's what you're-?" Mr.Jacobs gaped before sighing sharply and shutting the door.
He couldn't say he was surprised that Davey was in to boys. He couldn't say he was disappointed that Jack was the one he'd decided to be with. Jack wasn't a bad kid.
And anyhow, if he could punish Davey for cursing versus having to discuss what he'd just witnessed, he'd gladly use that out to never talk about this again.
