The day arrived, it was a cloudy day in Gotham, so the sun was not something to bother you that much today.

The smell of breakfast woke you up from a very deserved rest. You stretched a little and got ready to start the day off

When you walked out of your room, you went straight to the dining room and saw Kate in the kitchen.

You: Mornin' Kate

Kate: Hi Y/N, did you slept well?

You: Yeah, I almost forgot I got my ass beaten by a humanized feline

She chuckled and you helped her with the breakfast, adding the final touches and bringing the plates to the table

You two sat and began eating while talking about different topics. Kate was an interesting woman, she knew about your peculiar lifestyle, but her reaction was a normal one as if she had seen more action in her life

As soon as you finished eating breakfast with Kate, reality came back as the sound of the doorbell ringing

Kate: Oh? Who could it be this time?

You: I'll get it

You stood up and walked towards the door. When you opened you were greeted by your business partner and friend, Frank Torres

Torres was a man with green eyes and a small, yet notorious black beard and a few scars. The man was really tough, but he was very polite when needed

Frank: Hey Y/N, need to talk with you

You: Business as usual?

Frank: Indeed

You: *Sigh* Alright, but first, do you want some coffee? I just made some

Frank: That...Would be good, thanks-You nodded and motioned him to enter with a smile

You sidestepped, allowing him to enter the place. He noticed your roommate just finishing her food as well and she waved at him

Kate: Hey Frank, how are you?

Frank: As good as one can be, how about you, Kate?- He grabbed a seat on the table and began a conversation with the redhead

He was also a friend of hers because of all those times he came by, so it was natural he befriended Kate

Kate: All good, thanks!- You came in with a cup of coffee for him and grabbed a seat

Frank: Thanks, friend

You: No problem. So, did something happened?

Frank: Yes, Cobblepott has hired us for a mission- Just when she heard that name, Kate spilled out some of her coffee as a reaction

You: Wow, you alright, Kate?

Kate: Yes, sorry I just...Cobblepott is a really dangerous man, you should be really careful

You saw the concern in her green eyes and you couldn't really help but smile

Frank: Don't worry Kate, I'll make sure they come back do you can scold them- He joked and patted your back, earning a giggle from her

Kate: You better. Oh, I have to go, Maggie needs my help with something

Frank: Have fun, you two-She smiled and left the room to get changed

You: But not too much!- You yelled from your seat before looking back at your friend

You: Seriously though, I have to drag her drunk ass back home every damn time!

Kate: I heard that!-She finished getting dressed and returned to give you a peek on the cheek before leaving

You just got a chuckle as an answer
and then turned into a serious expression, addressing your "business" Issue

You: So, what does Cobblepott want

Frank: He just said he needs to talk to us, me and you. He knows we're basically the face of the group

You: *Sigh* Goddamn it, okay, let me get my coat, it is always so damn cold at his hideout

Frank: What did you expect from someone who calls himself the Penguin?

You:...Good point

You got dressed in your usual mercenary uniform. You were part of a mercenary group going by the name of "Gray Knights" due to your neutral morality at work.

Besides the time you spent with Minerva, this group was where you started it all, and they needed you again

You entered a truck driven by Frank and you arrived at your destination shortly after. When you stepped out of the vehicle, you saw the entrance to the infamous "Iceberg Lounge" a fancy place owned by Oswald Cobblepott himself

Frank: You ready?

You: Let's finish this- You two put on a mask and you put on an earpiece that wasn't really noticeable.

You two entered the place and inspected it, it was really elegant and ice-themed of course, but it was empty. They were probably waiting for you

You made your way to a small bridge, with a table at the end and a man who you recognized as the Penguin using it. He saw you and motioned you to come closer

Penguin: Ah, the knights! Come closer, please

You walked towards him and saw he has guards standing next to him on both sides

Penguin: Take a seat, please- You and Frank did so, but still had a suspicious air about his hospitality

Frank: So, why did you hire us for?

Penguin: You see, Black Mask is trying to get some really advanced technology, and we don't want it to fall on his hands, do we?

You: So you want it for yourself- He laughed at your comment, catching you off-guard

Penguin: Not at all, I want it destroyed as soon as possible

He grabbed a file and passed it to you

Penguin: Here, All you need to know is in there. My sources tell me they will be selling that on the docks, so you should hurry

You: We'll handle it

Penguin: If you do, you'll see the money on your account

You: And why do you want to mess with Black Mask? I mean, I know he has this tech but he's not smart enough to use it properly

Penguin: Because he is up to something, I know that, and if he gets someone who can make those gadgets work for him, he will be a pain in the ass for everyone, you get it?

You: Crystal clear

Frank: It is settled then- He nodded while standing up and shook your hand before you stood up

Penguin: The best of luck to you-You nodded too and left the place with Frank by your side

When you exited the place, Frank drove to a certain location but noticed you hadn't said a single word for the entire journey

Frank: ...You ok, Y/N?

You: I don't know Frank, this seems suspicious to me

Frank: It is, but until we dig more into it, we can't tell if they are really up to something or just pissing in each others' territory

You: Right, we'll have to wait, until then, let's just get the work done

You arrived at a warehouse on the far end of the city and opened the door to reveal your hideout

On it, were the rest of your team, Ophelia, Vincent, and Danielle.

You: You heard the mission, right

Danielle: Crystal clear, Penguin's voice sounds funny on a communicator, though

Vincent: So, we're going to steal some advanced stuff huh? That might end up badly

You: Not if we are stealthy enough, Frank and Ophelia are coming with me, so get ready

Vincent: And the rest of us?

You: You'll be our eyes on the skies, this has everything you need for this operation- You handed her the file and she quickly looked through it just to make sure

Danielle: Got it, let's finish this

Your team worked under specific code names, for example:

You were Alpha

Danielle was Beta

Frank was Delta

Ophelia was Omega

And Vincent was Sigma

As the name suggests, you were the one that kept them together through the missions. Danielle was the second best at the job, but she preferred to stay behind scenes and help you with the intel

You all entered a truck that could be considered a mobile base of operations and began to drive towards the streets of Gotham. Danielle discovered that a truck was going to be the one in charge of delivering the equipment, so you began to look out for it

On missions, you never called each other by your names for obvious reasons

Danielle/Beta: Hey, I'm picking up an unusual signature from that truck over there- She pointed at the vehicle while watching at her screens

Vincent/Sigma: She's right, that's the one

You: Let's follow it, then

You did so as normal as you could in order to avoid any suspicion, until the
the truck entered a warehouse nearby.

You: That's it, we're going in- You parked the truck at the end of a street, in a strategic spot and got yourself ready

You: Delta, Omega, with me. Sigma, you take care of Beta if something happens

Sigma: Sure thing, Alpha

Beta: Good luck guys, you nodded and stepped out of the vehicle

You three ran to the building and infiltrated it with no problems, eliminating any opposition along the way. You stayed on the bridges that were above everything, to get a better view of the scene itself

You began to investigate the place to gather any useful information until your earpiece talked to you

Beta: They are here, Alpha

You: Got it, go to your positions guys- You motioned them and they all went to strategic covers

A thug with a black mask came out of the truck alongside a few guards, just how Intel suggested

Sigma: Don't you love it when the Intel actually is right?

You: Beta, get me info on anyone relevant here- You ordered on your communicator and inspected carefully the men present

Leader: Do you have it?

Thug: You bet! Bring it here!- He signaled to his people

They brought the case and opened to reveal small gadgets

You managed to get a few pictures of the products

You: Are you seeing this, Beta?

Beta: Yeah, how did they managed to get their hands on those?

You: Guess we're about to find out- You stopped talking and listened to their conversation again

Leader: Is it good?

Thug: Yeah! This can deal damage to any vehicle like that! This beauty just shuts them down like they were nothing

He looked at a certain direction and Omega quickly hid behind her cover again

Leader: Interesting...

Thug: So, It's a deal?

Leader: Maybe another time

Thug: What? But we're here already!

Leader: I'm afraid I can't buy anything

Thug: Why not?

Leader: Because we're being followed!- He pointed at one direction and thugs approached the floor with weapons

You: Oh come on!- Knowing there was no other way, you shot the thugs approaching you and the others began to open fire as well

The firefight began and it wasn't easy for any side, they had the numbers, but you had the skill

In the middle of the fight, you spotted the truck that they brought there and saw it still had the keys on

You made your way to the truck, securing it and then looked at your partners

You: Get in here!!- You yelled at them and began to open fire on the others, providing cover long enough for them to get inside the truck

You ran to the driver seat and started the engine and ran all the way to the entrance and managed to destroy the wall opposing you

Delta: How did you know that would work?

You: I didn't- He chuckled and Omega just stared at you with a terrified expression with the thought of what if you failed

Omega: They modified their vehicles, they're a little more of a problem this time

Delta: How so?

Omega: They're powered up with some kind of energy that I can't recognize, but they aren't your typical car, that's for sure!

You: We'll see about that

You did your best to give yourselves the advantage but they didn't waste any time and launched a persecution after you

The chase was really harsh for you, since most of their vehicles were fast, unlike yours that was filled with the cargo you were paid to steal

Delta: Running out of bullets!

Then, sirens could be heard as well, the police had joined the act

Omega: Shit! What are we going to do now!?

Delta looked through the equipment they stole to see if there was something to aid them, but only found strange looking devices

Delta: What the hell is this?

Beta: Wait!, that is an EMP, Delta!

You: Hey guys, you said their cars were mostly electric, right? Then maybe we can use them to stop them

Beta: You just have to get out of its reach

Delta: And what about the police?

You: One problem at the time, man

Omega: If we get out of the range then, that...That might actually work!- She smiled and looked out at your chasers, confirming the plan

Delta: Now they're done for- He tossed her one of the devices

Omega: Wait for the signal!- His partner nodded and reloaded the rifle

The thugs shoot at the truck again, missing their targets before increasing their speed as well

Omega: Wait for it...Wait for it...

They got in range and your partner smirked about it

Omega: Now!- Delta grabbed the rifle and aimed at the enemy's vehicle

Delta: I got it-He shot at the vehicle's window, distracting them and managed to slow it down long enough for Omega to throw the device at them

You got out of the range just in time to not affect your truck at all. Their vehicle (As well as a few police cars) was disabled easily, but there were other two that didn't seem to be stopping anytime soon

Delta: You gotta be kidding me!!

Omega: They're catching up!! Those ones aren't modified!

You: I'm on it!

You increased your speed as much as the vehicle allowed you to, but your chasers were slowly closing the distance with you no matter the effort

Delta: Damn it! Ran out of bullets!- He looked at you hoping for a plan but you were too busy trying to drive through the city

Thug: END OF THE LINE, IDIOTS!!- They were close enough to hit the vehicle from behind and even shoot at the doors.

You: Guys, set it on fire and get the hell out of here now!

Omega: But what about-

You: I'LL FIGURE SOMETHING OUT!!

They reluctantly obeyed, installed a time bomb and jumped out of the vehicle while you kept driving it, away from as many people as you could

You saw them land safely out of the chase and your team's truck picking them up while the thugs completely ignored them, they were clearly not the objective.

You stopped the vehicle suddenly and jumped out of it. Before they could even react, the thugs crashed into the truck, detonating the bomb in the process

However, the last remaining vehicle spotted you and drove all the way to kill you. Expecting the worse, you got ready for it and closed your eyes

Then out of the sudden, the vehicle in front of you was crushed, ending the chase successfully

Beta: Y/N!! Are you okay?

You: Y-Yeah, what the hell was that?...

Beta: I don't know, I can't see a thing

You took out your knife for defense and walked towards the smoking truck and found the thugs unconscious and out of the vehicle

The more you approached, the more the smoke was clearing out but what you saw you made your eyes go wide in both surprise and fear

Sigma: Oh snap

You: D-Diana!?...

The Amazon looked at you straight in the eyes while pointing at you

"Y/N, we need to talk"
