Chapter 2

Hey, long time no see. Sorry, this took a while. I was working on Rogue Crew and real-life shit happened. But I put Rogue Crew on hiatus to work on this story a bit. It will be back up once this is done with season 1 of bnha or close to it.

Special thanks to PanicAtTheEverywhere on Discord for beta-reading this chapter

__________________________________________________________________________

"When did the quirks first appear?" Stein quizzes Crona as she tries to hit her goal of one hundred and fifty pushups. Crona lifts herself off the ground with both hands and then goes back down the mat.

"2060!" Crona answered as she did her push-ups. As she panted, out of breath, she could feel the sweat dripping down her back. One-twenty she counts in her mind.

"Where?" Stein tested her.

"Qing Qing, China!" She answered. One twenty-two.

"What were the first heroes?"

"They were vigilantes at first!" One twenty-three

"Where was the first hero Pro Hero System established?"

"Rhode Island in America!" One twenty-four.

"How many tried to become heroes?"

"One hundred and eighty-seven people." Stein presses his foot on her back, causing her to collapse to the ground, stopping her internal counting.

"Wrong! Restart back to zero." Crona took in a deep breath, stifling a curse. Damn it she was close to one twenty-fifty...

"Again!"

Crona ran along the sidewalk in Takoba Municipal Beach Park, sneaker-clad feet rhythmically thumping against the ground. She saw a green-haired boy jogging up ahead.

"On your left!" Crona called out and the boy shifted to the right, quirking his head to look and gave her some room. She surpassed him quickly, much to his shock.

Bang!

Crona's arms shake as she holds back Stein's attack with her sword. Marie had shifted to her second weapon form; a heavy-hitting black hammer with gold highlights, Where her tonfa form was a thin weapon the length of her partner's arm with a hilt that wrapped around his knuckles, her hammer form was the opposite. She had a short hilt wrapped in cloth and fit into the palm of Stein's hand, and a hammerhead only the length of his hand.

Stein smirked and pushed against the blade harder, but Crona held firm, not moving an inch and trying to push Stein away. Just as she thought she'd finally make him move, she saw a spark out the corner of her eye and then a joint of pain to her soul.

Zap!

Crona yelped in pain and she was thrown to the ground, "Oww..." She groaned in pain.

"You should have held back, Stein." Marie scolds him.

Stein shrugs, unfazed. "You never know with quirks. One may be electricity-related, able to get past the black blood." He explains without remorse, hauling Crona up off the ground.

"You ok?" He asks her once both feet are planted on the ground, betraying the soft spot he has.

"Y-yeah I can keep going." She told him.

Stein's face cracks into a wicked smile at the declaration.

"If that's what you want then I won't hold back."

"On your left!" Crona calls out to the familiar green-haired boy again. She surpasses the boy once he makes room on the sidewalk, but unbeknownst to her the boy was trying in vain to keep up with her, but quickly fell behind.

"How do heroes rise in rank?" Stein quizzes Crona during a set of jumping jacks.

"The Hero Commission rates their points by the end of each month." She answers him. Crona had just passed the one hundred jumping jacks mark.

"What are the types of points a hero can gain?" Stein asks her.

"Villain takedown and rescue points!"

"And which is more valuable?"

"Rescue points!"

"On your left!" She sees the green-haired kid every time she is jogging on Saturday. It must be his free time to jog like this, she notes. He moves and Crona jogs past him. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the green hair put on a burst of speed almost like he was trying to catch up, but Crona quickly surpassed him again.

Zap!

Crona feels the joint of pain as Stein unleashes his wavelength, but she holds strong and pushes the meister away. Before Crona can launch an attack, Stein's foot connects to her torso, making her double over. Then he follows up by driving his heel into her back, sending the younger fighter to the ground.

"Give up?" He asks as Crona hits the earth. She took a couple of deep breaths and scrambled to her feet.

"Like hell old man!" Ragnarok challenges, answering for both of them as they charge the doctor again.

"What are three main types of quirks?" Stein asks Crona as she does sit-ups.

"Mutant, transformation, and emitter," Crona answers, silently counting her one hundred and one-hundred-twenty sit-ups.

"Explain the differences between the types," Stein asks once Crona starts the next rep.

"Mutant Quirks are quirks that, once active, permanently change the holder's body. Transformation quirks, on the other hand, are quirks that temporarily change the holder's body. Emitter quirks such as controlling fire, ice, air, and land are the most common quirks." Crona answers the meister. One-hundred-twenty-one.

Stein smiles and continues to question her.

Zap!

Crona fights through the pain and sees the coming kick a mile away. She drops down, Stein's kick flying over pink hair. Like a snake, Crona grabs Stein's airborne leg and hoists him up and over her head, sending him flying away from the teen.

Crash!

Crona puts her hands over her mouth, panic surging through her. She didn't mean to throw him that hard! She rushed to where the meister landed as Marie helped the older man stand.

"A-are you ok?! I didn't mean to throw that hard! I-" Crona stops herself when Stein raises his hand.

"I'm fine Crona," He told her and Crona saw that he was smiling, "I think you are ready for the exam." Crona feels like she ran up the mountain but now it was time to find a way down. The exam is just a week away after all.

Crona plays with the seatbelt as she stares through the window as Stein and Marie drive her to the exam. Crona feels like butterflies are in her stomach and she doesn't know how to deal with it! What if she messes up? What if something goes wrong? What i-

"Hey," Crona stops their train of thought as Marie calls out to her, "You're going to do great. I know it." Crona smiles but forces anyone to tell.

"You are going to be fine Crona," Stein said, not taking his eyes off the road, "After all, I wouldn't let you go if you weren't." Crona smiles a little at that. He knew that's true. Stein wouldn't let him go if he wasn't ready.

The car stops.

"We're here," Stein announces and Crona feels his anxiety acting up again. But Crona shallows down their fears and opens the door. He unblocked his seatbelt and stepped outside but got stopped by Marie.

"Hey," Crona turns to her, "You're going to do great, Crona." Crona smiled at her and stepped outside. The outside of the exam room was a crowd. Lots of kids with different quirks were gathered here. Most gathered in groups to talk while others started to head in to get seats. The pathway held a few cherry blossom trees and rocks making it feel welcome.

Which didn't help Crona.

'It's too bright. There are too many people,' Crona thought as she headed to the test building. Her anxiety is bottling up. He hides behind a tree and takes deep breaths, 'It's ok. I'm fine. I'm fine. Oh, who am I kidding? I don't know how to deal with this! What if I mess up?! What if I fail the mission and can't go back to school? How can I face Maka again?! How ca-' Crona's dark thoughts were cut off by someone touching his shoulder.

"Hey, man are you alright?" The voice asks him in concern and Crona looks up to find a kid around their age. He has hair that was black shoulder-length hair. He has red eyes and has a small scar above his right eye.

"I-I'm f-fine," Crona replies, trying to stand tall despite his stuttering and sweating.

But the boy didn't comment and smiled, "That's the spirit! Yeah, taking the first step can be scary but it's the first step into us becoming heroes," He grins at him and Crona shivers at his sharp teeth.

"My name is Kirishima Eijiro." He introduces himself and holds up for Crona to shake.

"My name is Stein Crona," Crona grabbed Kirishima's hand and the other boy shook excitedly. Crona's grip was weaker, so his arm flung around as Kirishima shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Stein! So are you going to the hero course too?"

Crona was about to answer him but Ragnarok said, "Hey punk why don't you beat it?! We got this!" This took Kirishima aback.

"I was just helping out," Kirishima explains but Ragnarok didn't buy it.

"Yeah right! Are you trying to help this wimp? Yeah right. Why don't you hit the road bi-"

"Kiri!" Kirishima turns his head, smiles, and waves the other down to them. The newcomer is a girl of medium height, with light pink skin! Crona did a double-take on that but then again quirks due to changes in people's looks. Her eyes were different too. She had black sclera and light yellow irises. Her face is framed by short hair, fluffy and unruly, which is a pink color with two thin, pale yellow horns protruding from her head, hooked squarely and leaning diagonally to opposite sides.

"Hey, Ashido! I was talking to Stein and..." He looks at Ragnarok.

"His name is Ragnarok," Crona told him, and Ragnarok pinched his cheek.

"Don't tell them, you idiot!" Ragnarok shouts at Crona who gets Ragnarok off of him,

"Hey stop it!" The pink lady shouts at Ragnarok and helps Crona get him off.

"Hey, bitch mind your business!" Ragnarok shouts at her and the lady's face goes red.

"Then don't do that in a public place idiot!" She shouts back.

Crona gulps, he doesn't know how to deal with this.

She looks at Crona, gives him a big smile, and shakes his hand, "Hey there! I'm Ashido Mina! I come from the same school as Kiri." She playfully elbowed Kirishima who gave her a small smile.

"Hey don't ignore me!" Ragnarok shouts angrily.

"Then don't be an asshole to me if you want knowledge." Ragnarok hisses at her.

"O-oh really? You guys come from the same school?" Crona asks and then mentally kicks himself. Of course, they come from the same school! But they don't seem to mind Crona's dumb question.

"Yeah, we come from the same middle school. Speaking of which," Ashido turns to Crona, "What school do you go to Crona?" She asks him.

"None of your-"

"Oh! I was homeschooled." Crona answers, rubbing the back of his head. Remembering the backstory Stein and Marie come up with him.

"Crona!"

"That's cool! What makes you want to join the U.A.?" Kirishima asks. Crona rubs the back of his neck. He didn't have an answer. Were they supposed to say 'Oh I broke the law and was sent here to get into the U.A. or face punishment?' Then in his mind's eye, he remembers Maka.

'I want to be like her.' He thought but the speakers turned on before Crona could answer Kirishima's question.

"HEY THERE KIDOS! THE TEST IS ABOUT TO BEGIN SO BEST TO HEAD TO YOUR TESTING ROOMS! YEEAAAH!"

"We better get moving Kiri," Ashido told him and Kirishima nodded. Ashido turned to Crona, "Which test room are you going to Crona?" She asks him.

"Oh, that's Hero Course one," He answers and Ashido's eyes spark.

"Oh! You are going to the Hero Course too! Then let's go together," She grabs Crona's hand and leads him to the test room.

"Oh! W-wait...um...I," Crona stuttered as he tried to find the right words to say.

"Hey let us go!" Ragnarok growls.

Kirishima follows them and gives Ashido a deadpan look, "Mina you shouldn't drag people away."

"Oh! It is fine Kiri! We're going to the same place!" Ashido comment

"Um...well yes but," Crona stuttered, and Ashido slowed down.

"Did you come here with anyone?" She asks him.

"W-well...no," Crona answers her, and Ashido smiles.

"See it's Kiri! Let's go!" She exclaimed and rushed off to the testing room with Crona in tow. Kirishima rolls his eyes but smiles and follows them.

"WHY IS NO ONE LISTENING TO ME!?"

The test room was so big! Row upon row of students in the big auditorium room. Crona quick some of the questions that she knows on top of her head. Crona got done before Kirishima and Ashido and feels bad. He looks over his test to ensure he got it right and not make the others feel bad. They were nice to him after all...

Then once they hand in all their tests the lights start to dim and the spotlight shines on the ground below. Standing in the middle was a tall, slim man with long blond hair and a small brown mustache.

"YEEAAAH! WELCOME TO TODAY LIVE PERFORMANCE! EVERYONE SAID YAY" No one answered the man but he didn't seem to mind, "HEY AT LEAST WE GOT A CROWD! THAT'S COOL MY EXAMINEES LISTENERS! I'M HERE TO PRESENT YOU WITH THE GUIDELINES FOR YOUR PRACTICAL EXAMS! ARE YOU READY?! YEEAAAH!"

Crona flinches at the loud noises. He hears someone talking a few rows down but before Crona could get a look the man spoke again.

"NOW LIKE YOUR APPLICATIONS SAID, YOU'RE GETTING THROWN DOWN IN OUR SUPER HIP URBAN SETTINGS! YOU'RE GOING TO BE ROCKIN''' IT WITH A TEN-MINUTE MOCK BATTLE!"

The monitor behind the change features 4 robots with 0-3 points attending them.

"Gird your loins, my friends, after I mic drop this information you'll be going to the specified battlegrounds you hear!"

More silence and the hero laughs it off. Crona feels for the guy.

"Alright! Can you do me a solid and check your targets? There are three types of foes out there. Each point is based on how difficult they are. So choose carefully and pick your targets. Your goal is to destroy the robots as quickly as you can with your quirks. But check it," The hero warns them, "Keep things heroic and not attack other examinees! Make sense, there is no point of being a hero just to hurt people," Crona put a hand under his chin in thought. Everyone is going at it so Crona has to be fast.

"Excuse me!" Another voice called out and Crona turned to see a boy with short dark blue hair, square eyes, and a pointed shape of his jaw. To complete the look he also wears glasses with rectangular lenses.

"Excuse me, sir! I have a question!" The boy asks the hero.

"Yes?"

"There are only 3 types of points for 3 of the robots. But there is a 4 one. I don't think UA can make a mistake like this. So what is 4 one?" Crona was wondering about that too and was glad this fellow was examining his concerns. As he was too shy to ask...

"Ah! That is a surprise! Sorry, some things are meant to be kept secret so you kids are on your toes!" The hero answers, much to Crona's disappointment.

"I see!" The boy sounded ok with that answer but then shouted which surprised Crona, "And you!" The boy points behind him. Crona couldn't see but heard a surprised yelp. "Please stop mumbling, you distract the rest of us." A couple of examinees laugh at this and Crona feels bad about the person got called out.

"Well, that's not manly," Kirishima comments.

"Seriously," Ashido adds in her two cents. Crona had to nod in agreement with them. That was just uncalled for.

"So what is your ticket, Kiri?" Ashido asks him.

"Oh, it's at 2A gate." He answers and Ashido gasps.

"I'm at 3B gate!" She exclaims but quietly enough to not get others' attention.

"They must not have people with the same school team up," Kirishima theorized.

"Oh hey, Franken where are you going for the Battle Test?" Kirishima asks Crona.

"Oh! It's 2A." He answers and Kirishima and Ashido both of their eyes lit up.

"Sweet that means you're coming with me!" He exclaims excitedly.

"Lucky!" Ashido sighed dramedy but was smiling.

Crona feels like a little easter that Kirishima was coming with him. He and Ashido seem like nice people to him.

The trip to the battlegrounds on the bus was a short one. It was nerve-racking for Crona but Kirishima helps Crona keep his mind off of the battle test as much as possible, by talking about heroes, school life, and their hobbies.

"You like to write poems?" Kirishima raises an eyebrow.

"Y-yeah. Is that weird?" Crona asks nervously.

"Oh no! I think it's manly!" Kirishima told him. Crona smiles at that.

"You know I'm not a boy, Kirishima?" He questions the other.

Kirishima blinks, "Oh no! I didn't mean like that Crona! Having a manly spirit doesn't have to do with gender. It means you have a very brave soul!" Crona blushes at that comment.

"But can I ask your pronouns?" He asks Crona.

"What are your pronouns?" Kirishima asks him.

"Oh! I go by all pronouns. She/her, him/he, and they/them. I'm genderfluid." He explains to Kirishima.

"What's genderfluid?" He asks Crona.

"Some days, my gender decides to change, completely without direction, so I have to pack twice the clothing when I go on vacation. Gender moves my dysphoria goalposts constantly, so things that make me uncomfortable today that I might embrace tomorrow. I have no control over when my gender changes. Sometimes it is boy or girl, and sometimes it's both or neither or something else entirely, or a combination of any of those, does my sense?" Crona explains to Kirishima.

Kirishima nods, "Make sense to me." Crona smiles, glad that Kirishima understands. That is when the bus stops. They were here and Crona felt his stomach drop again.

"Well we here," Kirishima announces, "Ready to become heroes?" He held out his hand to Crona to take.

Crona took a deep breath, "Ready as I can be." He grabs Kirishima's hand and gets up to his feet. They travel with other examinees. They stop outside the gates of the waiting room outside while Crona doesn't have a special costume. Kirishima went into the rooms and came out with his costume. He wears two dark red gear-shaped shoulder pads. A jagged sash joins the one on his left to the right side of his belt, which has a red "R" set into its center. Below this, he wears baggy black pants and a half cape with a ripped hem. He also sports dark red boots and thick rings around his calves. He leaves his chest bare, and wears a wired guard around his face, reaching from just above his hairline to below his jaw, an extra piece going over the bridge of his nose, and some spiked pieces around his mouth that resemble little fangs.

"Hey, Crona!" He runs toward him and Crona smiles. Once he got up to Crona he asked them, "How do you like my costume?"

"It looks nice," Crona said but thought it showed too much skin but he can't judge people's taste in clothes.

Kirishima beams, "Thanks!" Confusedly, He looks at Crona, "Aren't you going to change?"

Crona shook his head, "No. I'm already wearing my battle clothes."

Kirishima blinks, "Oh really? I thought it was just a dress."

"It's for me to bypass the clothes easily, idiot," Ragnarok comments as he pops out from Crona's back, "the clothes are made from Crona's blood and I can move through easily without breaking the clothes."

"Oh, it's you." Kirishima deadpans.

"What do you mean it's just me you got a problem punk?!" Ragnarok shouts angrily leading over Crona's head to yell at the black-hair kid.

"Yeah you just shout and insult everyone around and you are not going to make any friends with that," Kirishima answers which throws Ragnarok off guard. He didn't think this kid would answer him like that.

"WHAT!? WHY WOULD I-"

"ALRIGHT LET'S START!" Ragnarok cut everyone off and turned to see Present Mic on top of a guard tower.

"GET MOVING IN REAL BATTLE THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS! RUN LISTENERS YOU'RE WASTING TIME!"

Ragnarok narrows his eyes at Kirishima, "Fine but we're not finished! Crona, get as many points as possible and beat this punk!" He said while holding onto his head.

"R-right!" Crona starts to run.

Kirishima grins, "Let the best man win!"

Crona smiles nervously, "Right!" Then right before Kirishima's eyes, Ragnarok grew bat-like wings.

"W-wh-"

Woosh!

Crona took to the sky for a clear view of the city. He spots a couple of robots crawling around the makeshift city, some climbing up the buildings. He decides to take those out first.

Like a bullet, he drives and chops off the head of the robot and kicks the rest of the body down on the robot below it.

"Screech Gamma!" With downward slashes at the mod of robots, the form of Ragnarok's sword resembles the disfigured, face-like figure with a mouth and a purple aura.

Boom!

The impact caused the robot to fall and it made a dust cloud, Crona used that to escape into the air but circled around like a hawk looking for prey. They spot the other examinees attacking the robots. Robots in return spend out and attack examinees. Quirks throw about, and Crona carefully watches and picks out robots away from the pack or behind the group. Easy pickings.

Crona grabbed one and took it in the air. After going at a certain height and next to another group of robots he let gravity do its thing.

Crash!

Crona drops it on another group of robots. It broke on impact and another robot broke too but another only had its legs crushed and another one was fine and looked up at him. Crona was about to finish those off but saw another group of examinees closing in on them. Crona gave those two to them and went off to find another robot.

"We got a couple of good examinees here," A stout man who appears to be a possible combination of several different animals, including a dog, a mouse, and a bear. He has the head of a mouse with circular black eyes, a large scar over the right one, relatively rectangular-shaped ears with pale pink insides slanting outwards from the top of his head, and an elongated muzzle with a small round nose. His fur is white and has large, dog-like paws with pink pads and a thin tail like a cat's. He sports a white dress shirt, a dark red tie around his neck, a black double-breasted waistcoat, and matching dress pants. This was Nezu, the principal of U.A.

"Yeah look at this kid go!" Exclaim a tall, curvaceous woman with sky blue eyes, which tilted downwards in the center; framed by a set of rather long eyelashes. She had a small beauty mark below her left eye, as well as red-painted nails. Her hero costume was very similar to one of a traditional dominatrix. She wore a breastless, black leather leotard—similar in style to a corset—over a thin, skin-tight white bodysuit, which accentuated her voluptuous figure. She had a small red mask outlining her eyes and a handcuff on each wrist. She was often seen carrying a flogger-style whip. Her name was Nemuri, "He knows how to use his quirk well, as well as exploring." Both the pink-haired and blond kid were at sixty.

"This is not counting the rescue points they got!" A person with a white spacesuit a black helmet white eyes, and a pair of yellow boots. Their name was Thirteen.

"Where did he come from?" A slender and tall pale-skinned man pointed at the picture of Crona. The man has messy, shoulder-length black hair partially hanging in front of his face and often half-opened black eyes. His facial hair remains unkempt, and his eyes almost always look tired and flat. The man sports a ragged black outfit that consists of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants that tuck into his boots. He also wears a utility belt and a capture scarf. He hides a pair of bright yellow goggles underneath his scarf. His name was Aizawa.

"He was part of Hero's Commission's new program," Present Mic answers. Aizawa feels a headache coming along. The Hero Commission offers this new Program in the wake of villains like Stain. Kids who were vigilantes got a chance to be in a school like the U.A. if they passed the test. A problem child. Great.

"The real test is about to begin." One of the teachers said as they pushed a button, "Let's see how they react."

"Let go, you damn dirty human!" The robot cries out as Crona picks it up. He lost count of how many he destroys so but sure that he's doing good. Crona spots a familiar black hair taking out robots left and right. Crona got an idea.

He flies above Kirishima.

"Kirishima!" Kirishima looks up and sees Crona holding up a robot.

"Stein?" Kirishima tilts his head.

"I'm going to throw this robot at you! Can you finish it?" Crona asks.

Kirishima smiles, "Just drop on me!"

Crona was taken aback, "W-what?"

"Just do it! Trust me!" Crona furrows his eyebrows but lets go of the robot. He thought Kirishima would slash it with his arms, but he just stayed there.

Boom!

The impact kicks up a cloud of smoke from the destroyed robot.

"Kirishima!" Crona cries out in alarm and drives down. If fly fast enou-

Kirishima laughs, "I'm fine Crona!" Crona slows down and lands with an open mouth in shock. Kirishima was fine but his body. Crona looks at his hair, it is jagged and rock-like but transforms back into human skin again.

"My quirk is Harden! I can harden and sharpen any or all parts of his body." He explains.

Boom!

The ground shakes under their feet.

"What the-" Crona didn't hear what Kirishima said as he flew up to get a better look. His eyes widened in alarm as the giant robot was walking in their direction.

He flies down and lands next to Kirishima, "We need to get out of here now!" He shouts in alarm.

Kirishima looks confused, "What why?" The ground shakes again and stomping sounds become louder than they were before. Crona grabs Kirishima and carries him over his shoulder before taking off.

"Wait! Crona, wh-" Kirishima's eyes widened in surprise as he saw the giant robot, "Holy shit!" He shouts in surprise.

Crona flies to get away and almost misses it. Crona just happens to look down and see a soul standing there. When he looked in the street there were a bunch of people running away but the soul was near a bunch of falling debris and Crona didn't see anyone. Something was wrong.

He flies down to the roof of one of the buildings and brings Kirishima down.

"Stay here," Crona told him to look closer at that soul.

"Help! Help! I got my foot stuck!" Crona heard a girl's voice but couldn't see her.

"I'm here! Just where are you?!" Crona asks, looking around for the person. Then he felt someone touch his arm.

"I'm here! My quirk is invisible," She explains to him, "I got my foot caught here. Can you get me out?" Crona looks at the rubble. He can move it but he has to be fast.

Crona nods, "Y-yeah I can!" He picks up the rubble easily and the girl frees her foot, "Can you walk?" He asks her.

Crona couldn't see her but the way some of the dust moved it looked like she could move her leg.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She replies.

Stomp!

Crona and the girl turn their heads toward the robot. It was getting closer.

Crona turns to the girl, "Do you need a lift?" He asks her.

"No thank you. I can walk by myself. Besides you already have someone to carry." Crona hears Kirishima calling out to him. He almost forgot about him, "Are you sure? I carry the both of you." Crona told her.

"Nah! I will be fine though! I'll see you later in the U.A.!" She said to him as she took off. Crona sighs but then remembers he didn't get the girl's name. Crona rubs the bridge of his nose and is about to call to her but then he hears the robot get closer.

Stomp!

Crona didn't have time. He flies back to Kirishima.

"Sorry about that. There was someone trapped there." He explains as he picks Kirishima up.

Kirishima looked confused, "I didn't see anybody down there."

'Oh shit!' He doesn't know how to explain that he just saw her soul almost drop on him, "Woah!"

"Sorry!" He said as he readjusts his grip and takes off. It was silent as Crona tried to think up an answer. He couldn't tell Kirishima about soul wavelength. That sounds way too crazy.

"I thought I heard someone down there and I went to see what's up." He explains. Hoping Kirishima will buy it.

"Oh, that makes sense." Crona smiles as they head for the exit. Crisis averted!

That was a week after that exam. Those days were the slowest in Crona's life. He always asks Marie and Stein if they got a mail from U.A. and they keep saying no. Crona began to doubt that he passed. Maybe he should have left Kirishima and the girl behind but Marie and Maka said that he did the right thing. But it doesn't change the fact that the Hero Commission might put him in jail if he didn't go to U.A. He was sitting in the corner of his room. It made him free and safe. But his mind started to spiral down spins.

"Crona?" Crona snaps him out of the spiral. Marie looks at him in worry.

"You want to go outside for a bit?" She asks him. Crona thought it over, he didn't have anything to do besides writing. Crona has been writing more as his therapist encouraged him to write his feelings. But he didn't feel like writing today.

"Um...sure?" Crona replies and Marie smiles at him.

"Good, I'll go get my stuff. Better get a jacket, it's chilly outside." Marie told him and left to get her stuff. While Crona looks in his closet for his jacket and grabs it. He left his room and waited in the living room. Crona sits on the couch and mindlessly flips through channels to pass the time as Marie gets her stuff.

"Crona!"

Crona nearly dropped the remote as Marie came running into the living room.

"W-what happened?" Crona asks her. Marie looks like she saw a ghost and holds up a letter for Crona.

"You got a letter from U.A.!" Crona jumps on his feet and looks at the letter. Sure enough, it had a seal from U.A. Crona gulps and Marie hands him the letter.

'Ok this is it,' Crona thought as looking at the letter, 'Just got to open it.' But he stops himself. What if he fails? What was rejected? Will the Hero Commission throw him in jail? What if he fails the mission? What if DWMA kicked him out after his biggest fuck up? What if-

"Crona?" Crona snaps out of his downward spiral as Marie calls out to him. Marie looks at him in concern, "If you don't want to open right now. Then we can wait until Stein gets back from work."

"No. I'll open it." Crona rips the steal off easily. Inside were a small handwritten letter and something that looked like a tiny reactor. But without any energy or the glowing parts. It clicked when it landed and a large screen appeared.

"Behold! I'm here....as a projection!" Said a huge man with an equally muscular and well-defined physique, his design resembling a typical Western comic book superhero but with a yellow pinstripe suit. Crona recognized him as the number one hero, All Might!

"I know what you must be thinking. Why am I here? Well, I'm here to congratulate you on your exemplary performance in the practical exam a week ago, Stein Crona." Crona feels his heart swell up in happiness and relief.

"For you see, you are not only looking at the Number One Hero but also the newest U.A. faculty members!" This might be a good thing. If someone knows about All For One then it might be All Might. After he is the number one hero he must have known a villain like All For One, "Like must have guessed, the test wasn't only graded on Villain points. After all, there's more to being a hero besides fighting villains. A hero must also be willing to help those in need. That's also Rescue Points!"

The screen flashes and Crona's eyes widen.

"To Crona 70 Rescue Points and 69 Villain Points! Nearly going for my record! You passed at the pinnacle of the first-year ranks! Welcome to your Hero Academia." With that hologram shut down.

Marie cries and hugs Crona, "I'm so proud of you!" Crona blushes at this

"U-um thank you." Crona smiles at her and Marie beams. He hoped that he would pass but in the first place?... Oh boy.

Marie pulls out her cell phone, "I will call Stein to tell him the good news. Also, we are going to that Italian restaurant you like in celebration."

Crona peeked up the mention of the Italian restaurant, "Can I have pasta?" He asks her.

"Of course! That's why I picked it because you love pasta." Marie answers him and Crona beams. Today is going to be a good day.
