Dylan sat in a park bench that afternoon, watching the branches on the trees above him swish against the soft wind. It was a nice breeze and the young man felt himself start to relax, his eyes growing heavy...
Suddenly a pair of hands land on his eyes, covering them tightly.
"Guess who," the voice whispered into his ear, their breath tickling his skin.
He smirked lightly, "Is it someone with the most adorable eyes..?"
Dylan grabbed the hands off of his face, interlocking them in his. He twisted his body around to see it was Sam, his new girlfriend.
Yes it was official, they were finally together.
It was a weird adjustment for both of them, but not so much after the first few days. Work was a little strange when they broke the news to Kevin....

"Hahaa, what did I tell you, Dylan!" Kevin said with his hands crossed, a cheeky grin filling his face. Sam glanced at Dylan as he grew sheepish of his past denial.
"What's he talking about Dill?"
The muscular man smirked, pulled both of them into side hugs, "I knew something was going to blossom the first time you two hung out together, and look at you now!"
Dylan rubbed the back of his neck, "It looks like we got a visionary in the building...now tell us, what other things are being theorized in your mind, oh wise one?" He put his hands together and Samantha giggled next to him.
Kevin stroked his chin in teasing thought, "I'm seeing a double date with you two, Angela and I in the near future." The girl raised an eyebrow, "Ah so a double date? Haven't been on one of those in years!"
"Well, now you will be. How about some time next week?"
"Perfect," Dylan said, casually resting his arm around Sam. It felt so natural...
It became natural, as if it was meant to be.
Sam met Dylan's eyes, her smile glowing at his sight. She was wearing her glasses more often in public because Dylan told her she looked cute in them. Pushing them up with her hand, Sam pecked her boyfriend's lips, circling around the bench to sit beside him.
"How's it going, Dill?" She said, setting herself down next to him.
Dylan out his arm around her and looked up at the sky, "I'm just enjoying the view...," he looked over at her, "I'm really glad that you are here with me."
Sam eyes shimmered in his, "I am too."
They both stared as the sun began to settle on the horizon. Never in a million years did the young man ever think he'd ever have this again. Being able to just sit in silence and enjoy himself with a presence of someone he cared about.
He wasn't wealthy. All he had was his apartment and his computer. That was his life. Now, for the moment...he had something else to spend his time with. Instead of eating a bowl of cereal on the couch alone on a sunday night, he can eat a bowl of cereal on the couch on a sunday night...with Sam.
And he thought she felt that way too.
That made him happy.
Happier than he's ever been.
