Chapter Two: Angel of the Lord

After a while of talking, we decided it would be a good idea to go see a psychic. After Sam had a short chat with Dean, he went to the bathroom which lead to Sam finally talking to me.

"So, how've you been?" Sam asked.

"Dead," I answered, not looking at him.

"Look, I'm really sorry, I should've stayed with you and Bobby-"

"Yeah, you should've, you dick. We're still family, we need to stick together... But that's over now so don't worry," I said and gave him a hug.

~

We arrived at a house which Bobby said was the psychics. Bobby knocked on the door and soon after, a woman answered.

"Bobby!" she exclaimed, hugging him.

"You're a sight for sore eyes," Bobby said.

And that's how we got here, sitting in a circle, Pamela Barns touching mine and Deans arms and summoning whatever the hell pulled us out of the pit.

"I invoke, conjure, and command you appear unto me before this circle," she said, repeating it. I opened my eyes, looking to Dean, before I heard something go off behind me. I turned my head just enough to see that a small TV had turned on and went fuzzy, "I invoke, conjure, and command-Castiel? No. Sorry, Castiel, I don't scare easy."

"Castiel?" Dean asked.

"It's name. It's whispering to me warning me to turn back," she said and I gave Dean a look of confusion and fright. "I conjure and command you, show me your face," she said and started repeating it as the table started shaking.

"Maybe we should stop," Bobby said.

"I almost got it," she said before repeating the words again. "Show me your face now!" she yelled and the fire from the candles went high as she screamed. I looked to her to see fire coming from her eyes. The flames went down and she fell to the ground. I kneeled beside her as Bobby yelled for Sam to call 911. Her eyes were bleeding and when she opened them, there was nothing but an empty socket. They had been burned out. "I can't see! I can't see! Oh, god no," she said.

~

After the incident with Pamela, we went to a diner. Had a run-in with a few demons and left, but currently, I was laying on Deans chest, on the brim of sleep when suddenly, the TV turned on. I shot up and looked at it with a groan. Not again. The radio turned on and I started shaking Dean awake. We both grabbed a gun and stood up, looking around. There was a high pitched ringing and as it got louder a booming voice began to speak.

"DEAN, HENRIETTA, YOU MUST LISTEN TO ME-" Was all I heard as I covered my ears and the voice became muffled. The ringing increased and both me and Dean fell to the ground as any glass in the room shattered, including the mirror on the ceiling.

"Dean! Rhett!" I heard Bobby yell.

~

After Bobby basically pulled us out of the room, we discovered that he'd found a way to summon whatever had dragged me and Dean out of hell. We went to a barn, where we were currently drawing any and every sign we knew while Dean manned the weaponry. Once finished, me and Bobby exchanged glances and walked towards Dean.

"That's a hell of an art project you got going there." Dean said, examining a gun before putting it down and looking at a knife.

"Traps and talismans from every faith on the globe," Bobby answered. "How you doing?" he asked.

"Stakes, iron, silver, salt, a knife, I mean we're pretty much set to catch and kill anything I've ever heard of." he answered, pointing at all the weapons.

"Still a bad idea." I mumbled.

"I heard you the first 10 times," he said and looked at me. I held my hands up in a defensive motion. "What do you say we ring the dinner bell?" he asked and Bobby walked over to the table that he had all his summoning things set up. As he started speaking another language I looked at Dean dramatically.

"If this is the last time to say it, I love you big brother." I said overdramatically and threw a hand to my forehead as I arched my back and looked to the ceiling.

"Oh, shut up." He said and I laughed. After Bobby finished the ritual I held a gun close and hopped myself up onto the table, Dean doing the same after a couple more minutes along with Bobby, who had now started whistling for what ever reason.

"You sure you did the ritual right?" Dean asked and I looked from him to Bobby, who was glaring at Dean, "Sorry. Touchy, touchy, huh?"

The wind started picking up, extremely picking up. The slabs on the top of the barn started going crazy with rumbling. We stood up and grabbed our guns.

"Wishful thinking, but maybe it's just the wind," Dean said before the lights started bursting. The doors to the barn opened and once we got aim on whatever was walking through, we started shooting. It didn't even flinch. The devils trap didn't stop it, neither did any of the other symbols. Once the lights stopped busting, I got a look at it. It was a man. He was taller than me, shorter than Dean. He had dark brown hair, black in this light. He wore a tan trench coat over a black suit with a blue tie. He was pretty cute, but of course, he could be evil, which is why when the shooting wasn't working, I reached for the next best thing other than the knife that Dean had picked up.

"Who are you?" Dean asked.

"I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition." he answered in a deep, gravelly voice.

"Yeah? Thanks for that." Dean said before plunging Ruby's knife into his heart. He just stood there, the knife doing no damage to him. He looked down at it before reaching and grabbing it, pulling it out and dropping it to the ground. Next Bobby took a swing at him, but the man, Castiel, turned to him and put two fingers to his forehead, making him fall to the ground. After watching I grabbed my weapons and when he turned back to us I swung at him with an axe, then a stake. Once those were stabbed in his chest I kicked him where the sun don't shine, grabbing a silver crowbar and swinging it, he caught it and pulled it out of my hand, throwing it to the side before taking the other weapons out of his body.

"We need to talk," he said, looking to Bobby before back to us. "Alone."

Me and Dean had run to Bobby, checking to see if he was okay. When we found a pulse we looked up to Castiel.

"Your friend is alive," he said while looking through a book.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Castiel," he answered and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, I got that. What are you?" I asked again. He looked up from the book and stared into my eyes.

"I'm an angel of the lord," he said and my breath hitched.

"Angels don't exist," I said standing up, obviously cutting Dean off from something he was going to say. He stood up, obviously agreeing with me by the look on his face.

"This is your problem. You have no faith," he said before there was a loud crack of lightning and there was a shadow of wings behind him. I stared in disbelief.

"Some angel you are," Dean said beside me as I was unable to speak and he had a chance. "You burned out that poor woman's eyes," he said and Castiel looked down, clearly guilty.

"I warned her not to spy on my true form. It can be overwhelming to humans, and so can my true voice... but you already knew that," he said. My eyes went wide, he was the one talking in the motel?

"You mean the gas station and the motel? That was you talking?" Dean asked. Castiel nodded. "Buddy, next time, lower the volume."

"That was my mistake. Certain people, special people, can perceive my true visage. I thought you would be one of them. I was wrong."

"I object!" I yelled, throwing my arms in the air. They both looked at me and I cleared my throat. "In the- In the uh, motel, I heard a voice but I didn't think much of it. I thought Dean could hear it too," I said, suddenly very awkward. I hid behind Dean in my now awkward state and looked at Castiel over Deans shoulder as he looked at me strange.

"Okay," Dean said, turning his attention back to Castiel who was staring me down very intensely, making it very hard for my awkwardness level to go down. "And what visage are you in now, huh? What, holy tax accountant?" Dean asked and Castiel's eyes adverted back to Dean.

"This? This is... a vessel," he said and I suddenly felt bad for stabbing him multiple times.

"You're possessing some poor bastard?" Dean asked.

"He's a devout man. He actually prayed for this," Castiel answered.

"Look pal, I'm not buying what your selling. So who are you, really?" Dean said and I decided to check on Bobby, but continued listening on their conversation as I dragged Bobby to lean against the wall.

"I told you," I heard Castiel and when I looked over my shoulder, his head was tilted. It was honestly adorable.

"Right. And why would an angel rescue me from hell?" he asked.

"And me," I piped in. Once Bobby was against the wall I walked back over to them to see Castiel was slightly closer.

"Good things do happen, Dean, Henrietta," he said, taking more steps closer to us. His eyes flickered from Deans to mine.

"Not in our experiences," I said. Castiel tilted his head slightly.

"What's the matter?" he said, squinting slightly as if trying to read my mind. "You don't think you deserve to be saved," he said and I backed up a step. How the fu-

"Why'd you do it?" Dean asked.

"Because God commanded it," he said. "Because we have work for you."
