Chapter Seven: Hospital Stays and New Information

Sam and Dean had their go at me, yelling with me not replying, just laying in the back staring at the roof of the car. We burned Pamela's remains and buried them. Sam said Ruby was supposed to meet us at the motel and Dean was in a shitty mood, as always. We got there and I grabbed Deans bag and another beer, which got taken from me by Sam and thrown away. He threw away a perfectly good beer.

"Home, crappy home." Dean said as we walked inside the motel. He flipped on the light and who else to stand there but Castiel and Uriel. I stared at Cass, knowing he knew I still wanted my answer.

"Winchester, Winchester, and Winchester." Uriel said and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, come on!" Dean yelled.

"You are needed." Uriel said.

"Needed? We just got back from needed!" Dean yelled and I walked forward slightly.

"Now, you mind your tone with me." Uriel warned and I scoffed.

"No. You mind your tone with us." Dean said.

"We just got back from Pamela's funeral." Sam cut in so neither Dean or I wouldn't do anything we'd regret.

"Pamela, you know, psychic Pamela. You remember her? Cass, you remember her. You burned her eyes out. Remember that? Good times! Yeah, then she died saving one of your precious seals. So maybe you can stop pushing us around like chess pieces, for five freaking minutes!" Dean yelled, this time I held him. I wanted to hurt the bald son of a bitch, but he was acting like he was going to.

"We raised you out of hell for our purposes." Uriel said.

"Yeah, and what were those again? What exactly do you want from us?" Dean asked.

"Start with gratitude." Uriel said, making both me and Dean scoff.

"Dean, we know this is difficult to understand." Cass cut in.

"And we," Uriel turned to Cass. "Don't care." he said and this time I walked forward, this guy is seriously pissing me off.

"Listen here, baldy-" I said before Sam grabbed me so I couldn't do anything.

"Now, seven angels have been murdered, all of them from our garrison. The last one was killed tonight." He said and I just rolled my eyes.

"How do we know you're not the damn murderer, you're acting like it." I mumbled and got elbowed by Sam.

"Demons?" Dean asked. "How they doing it?"

"We don't know." Uriel said.

"I'm sorry, but what do you want us to do about it? I mean a demon with the juice to ice angels has to be out of our league, right?" Sam asked.

"We can handle the demons, thank you very much." Uriel said.

"Once we find whoever it is." Cass finished for him.

"So, you need our help... hunting a demon?" Dean said and I realized how ironic it sounded.

"Not quite," Cass said, walking toward us. "We have Alastair."

"Great. He should be able to name your triggerman." Dean said sarcastically. I knew where this story was headed, and it was not down yellow brick road.

"But he won't talk. Alastair's will is very strong. We've arrived at an impasse." Cass continued and I closed my eyes.

"No." I whispered.

"Yeah, well, he's like a black belt in torture. I mean, you guys are out of your league." Dean said.

"That's why we've come to his student," Uriel said and I watched Deans expression drop. "You happen to be the most qualified interrogator we've got."

"No." I said, louder this time.

"Dean, you're our best hope." Cass said and I looked from him to Dean frantically.

"No." I said again.

"No. No way. You can't ask me to do this Cass, not this." Dean said and relief washed over me. Uriel chuckled and walked forward.

"Who said anything about asking?" He said and the next thing I knew, we were gone. Me too, in another building.

"Me too?" I groaned. I noticed Cass and Dean looking through a window and when I got closer I pushed them slightly away so I could see what was in there. I saw Alastair tied up on a six pointed star in a devils trap.

"This devils trap is old Enochian. He's bound completely." Cass said.

"Fascinating," Dean said and turned around, grabbing my wrist. "Where's the door?"

"Where are you going?" I heard Cass as I walked with Dean.

"Hitch back to Cheyenne, thank you very much." he said and Uriel appeared in front of us.

"Angels are dying, boy."

"Everybody's dying these days." Dean said.

"That's what people do." I mumbled.

"And, hey, I get it. You're all-powerful. You can make me do whatever you want, but you can't make me do this." Dean said, getting louder toward the end and turning to Cass.

"This is too much to ask. I know. But we have to ask it." Cass answered and walked up to us. I stared, what is going on anymore? Over a week ago, if you would've told me angels were real you'd get punched in the face, and now, angels are telling my brother to torture someone?

"I want to talk to Cass and my sister, alone." Dean turned to Uriel.

"I think I'll go seek... Revelation. We might have some further orders." Uriel said and I let out a small sigh of relief.

"Well, get some donuts while you're out." Dean said. Uriel started laughing and it gave me that weird feeling you get when you know someone creepy is staring at you.

"Ah, this one just won't quit, will he? I think I'm starting to like you, boy." he said before disappearing. I let go of Dean and walked to Cass, quickly.

"Okay, first, I want to know what the hell his problem is." I said my regular fiery attitude back now that the creep was out of the room. He just stared at me, eyebrows furrowed. I looked as Dean turned around.

"You guys don't walk enough. You're gonna get flabby," he said but Cass only stared at him in confusion as well. "You know, I'm starting to think junkless has a better sense of humor than you do."

"Uriel's the funniest angel in the garrison. Ask anyone." he answered and I stared at him for a moment.

"Yeah." I said lightly and looked at Dean.

"What's going on, Cass? Since when does Uriel put a leash on you?" Dean asked, walking so he was beside me.

"My superiors have begun to question my sympathies." he answered.

"Sympathies?" I asked, confused.

"I was getting too close to the humans in my charge. You two. They feel I've begun to express emotions, the doorway to doubt. This can impair my judgement." he said, looking at us before turning, I felt anger, sadness, and a slice of happiness.

"Well, tell Uriel or whoever," Dean walked past him, staring into the window at Alastair. "You do not want me doing this, trust me." he said. I stared, looking from him to Cass over and over.

"Want it? No. But I've been told we need it." he said.

"You ask me to open that door and walk through it... You will not like what walks back out." Dean said.

"No." I whispered and started walking to Dean. Cass stopped me and held me.

"For what it's worth... I would give anything not to have you do this." Cass said and I looked to him and back to Dean.

"No, Dean. No," I said, slightly louder, but what I saw next, I didn't like. Dean walked right through that door. I fought Cass but he was much stronger than me. "Why'd you even bring me, anyway!" I yelled at him, finally pulling away from him.

"You wanted answers." he said and I sighed, looking at the window to see Dean standing there.

"Why did you pull me out of hell?" I asked with a sigh. I gave Cass a hard stare, hiding any previous emotion. He thought for a moment.

"You still won't like the answer."

"I don't care. You're going to sit your ass down and tell me anyways." I stated coldly. He sat down

"You're something special--new. You're different. God created you differently from other humans, but it wouldn't show until after you went to hell." he said.

"I'm a human." I said.

"No, you're not." he said.

"Well then tell me what the hell I am!" I yelled and he didn't even flinch.

"I don't know." he lied. I knew he was lying, I knew he was holding something back.

"You're lying." I said and he stood up, walking over to me, making me feel less and less confident with each step.

"Don't you think, if I knew what you were- what my father made you to be, I'd tell you?" he asked in a voice that was somehow lower than normal. How is that possible?

"No, not if there was something else keeping you from telling me," I said, slowly. He stopped and stared at me before we started hearing groans and yells of pain. "What are you hiding from me, Cass?" I asked. He leaned against the table, but didn't answer me. I walked to him. "Cass?" I asked.

"I can't tell you." he said.

"Why the hell not?" I asked. "It'll get me to stop bugging you for the answer."

"I just can't," he said. Silence fell over the room, all except Alastair's groans of pain from the next room.

"Let me go in there." I said.

"No."

"Then answer my question."

"No."

"Then why'd you even bring me to this dump in the first place?" I asked.

"Because I-" he started but stopped when I groaned and fell to my knees in pain. I held my head in my hands as an image of Sam appeared.

"Ruby, I need it." he said. It flashed white, then black before another image came on. It was Sam and Ruby. Ruby's wrist was sliced and Sam was drinking it. Sam was drinking demon blood. Everything faded out as I let out more moans and groans from the pain in my head, tears pricking my eyes.

"Henrietta?" A gruff voice pulled me out of my state.

"What... The hell... Was that?" I asked, looking up at him.

"It's starting." he said and kneeled beside me.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, still holding my head. He pressed a hand to my head and the pain subsided.

"You're changing." he said.

"What do you mean, I'm changing?" I asked.

"I have to tell you now." he said and sat next to me instead of kneeling. "After God created the humans he decided to make the perfect human. One that would follow orders from only him, but love the human race as much as him. Half angel, half human. That just happened to be you." he said.

"But I didn't even believe in God until you came along, and half of the human race are assholes." I argued.

"You had to go to hell before that could happen. I'm sorry."

"One more thing," I said, he looked at me confused. "What are you still hiding?" I asked. He stood up, helping me up. He was about to say something, but was cut off when the lights started flickering. I looked around and I saw Anna.

"Anna." Cass said, without even looking at her.

"Hello, Castiel." she said and he turned slightly.

"Your human body." he said. I decided it would be best if I stayed silent. I figured Anna knew what I was.

"It was destroyed. I know. But," she walked over to us. "I guess I'm sentimental. Called in some old favors, and..." she said. I wasn't looking at her, and I couldn't help but listen to the groans of Alastair in the other room.

"Should I go?" I asked, throwing a thumb over my shoulder, but not moving unless they answered.

"You shouldn't be here. We still have orders to kill you." Cass said, ignoring my question.

"Somehow, I don't think you'll try. Where's Uriel?" she asked, walking in front of Cass and around the table we were standing by.

"He went to receive revelation." he answered. I stayed in my spot beside Cass, watching as Anna looked around.

"Right," she said, looking through the window to Dean and Alastair before turning back to us. "Why are you letting Dean do this?"

"He's doing Gods work." Cass answered. If God wants this, I'd hate to see what he doesn't want.

"Torturing? That's God's work? Stop him, Cass, please. Before you ruin the one real weapon you have." she said. Hurtful, I could be a weapo- no never mind. It made me feel horrible that she was standing up more than I did, although I did punch Cass in the face trying to get to Dean.

"Who are we to question the will of God?" Cass asked no one in particular.

"Unless... This isn't his will."

"Then where do the orders come from?"

"Uriel, or your dicks of superiors." I spoke up before realizing I probably shouldn't have spoke.

"Maybe," Anna backed me up. "But not him," she walked forward as Cass turned around. "The father you love... You think he wants this? You think he'd ask this of you? You think this is righteous? What you're feeling... It's called doubt," she said. I realized they were a bit close there, just a bit. I watched as she put her hand on his. That's just a bit close Anna. She gave me a small glance and I stared at her confused. "These orders are wrong, and you know it. But you can do the right thing. You're afraid, Cass. I was, too. But together we can-"

"Together?" he asked and took his hand away from her. You go buddy! Wait, I should not be supporting this, he's letting Dean torture someone. "I am nothing like you. You fell... Go." He said, walking away. I slowly slipped into the shadows and down to the floor. Where's the popcorn? Anna turned to him.

"Cass." she tried to reason. He turned around, looking menacing, not even like himself. Did Uriel start possessing him?

"Go." he repeated and in a flash, Anna was gone. I seeped deeper into the dark and ate fake popcorn.

"This is the best part," I whispered as he stared at the spot Anna used to be. I stood up and threw a fake bag of popcorn over my shoulder. "Is it over already? Well, I guess I'll change to a different channel." I said and started walking to the door that Dean and Alastair were behind.

"Henrietta." Cass warned. I turned around.

"What?!" I yelled. "My brother's in there, torturing someone. I want to be in there. I'm not saying the bastard doesn't deserve it, because, believe me, he does. I just want out of here."

"Henrietta, you can't go in there." he said. I scoffed.

"Watch me," I turned to the door and right as I put my hand to the door it locked. I looked up and sighed. "Fluffy feather winged asshole dick in a stupid friggin' trench with a friggin' backwards tie and friggin' sad eyes, let me in there, or so help me, God, I am going to take that stick up your ass and shove it down your throat." I turned back to him glaring.

"I'm sorry." he said and I sighed.

"Why did you bring Dean back from hell?" I asked. Castiel sighed and started walking forward. I backed up against the door and he stopped. "Answer." I commanded.

"He needs to stop Lucifer from rising." Cass answered.

"Yeah, not that I'm not happy that you brought him back too or anything, but couldn't I do that? Me and Sam. Although I was stoked when I found out Dean was alive. I'm just wondering." I rambled.

"It's fate." he said.

"Fate can change, asshat," I said, quite rudely. "Explain why it has to be Deans fate," I demanded. He stared at me for a moment in silence before I heard something through the door and turned. The picture was different, Alastair was holding Dean up by the throat and I gripped at the doorknob. It was still locked. "Unlock the damn door, you knob!" I yelled at Cass and the door opened. Castiel ran and pushed me back behind him, causing me to knock into the wall and probably leave a bruise there. He walked toward Alastair, grabbing Ruby's knife and running toward Alastair as I ran to Dean, catching him before he landed on the ground. "It's going to be okay." I laid him down softly. He opened his eyes.

"Henry?" he asked and I shushed him before standing up. Cass had stabbed Alastair but Alastair still threw him back. Cass stood up.

"Oh, almost. Looks like God's on my side today," Alastair said. I gave Cass a glance, which he returned for less than a second before holding out a hand and turning it. I started walking around to see what he was doing, and when I got at a good enough angle I saw the knife twisting as Alastair groaned in pain. He pulled it out and dropped it so I started to walk forward to join the fight before Cass gave me a look to stay there. Alastair yelled and ran toward Cass. They started fighting and I ran for the knife. I stood up, knife in hand as Alastair pushed Cass against a nail or something on a post. I held the knife in my hand and started walking slowly forward so that Alastair wouldn't do what he did with Cass and turn around. "You know... Like roaches, you celestials. I really wish I knew how to kill you," only a few feet away. "But all I can do is send you back to heaven." He started chanting something and light started coming from Cass's eyes and mouth. I felt unexpected anger boil up inside me and I felt the knife slip out of my hand. I wasn't too far away from Alastair. The next thing I knew, I was flinging Alastair away from Cass, lights going crazy.

"Don't you dare hurt the people I care about ever again!" I yelled as I flung my arm and he flew again, to the wall. I tried doing it again but nothing worked. He smirked.

"Out of juice?" he said before I was flung, hitting a wall hard. I fell to the ground and my vision became blurred but I saw Sam hold Alastair against the wall. "Stupid pet tricks." I heard.

"Who's murdering the angels? How are they doing it?" I heard Sam as I blinked, trying to get the blurred black dots from my vision.

"You think I'm gonna tell you?" Alastair asked.

"Yeah, I do," he said. I tried pushing myself up, just falling back down. "How are the demons killing angels?!"

"I," Alastair's voice became stranger, much more demonic. "Don't... Know!"

"Right." Sam said. I moaned and leaned up and against the wall, my sight still blurred.

"It's... Not... Us! We're... Not doing it!" Alastair yelled.

"I don't believe you." Sam said.

"Lilith... Is not behind this," Alastair's voice became normal again. "She wouldn't kill seven angels. She'd kill a hundred. A thousand," there were more grunts and groans. "Oh, go ahead. Send me back... If you can."

"I'm stronger than that now. Now I can kill." Sam said before there was more grunts and shouts. The ground shook and suddenly it all stopped. It was over.

"Sammy?" I called out hoarsely, blinking. I heard two sets of footsteps.

"Dude, she's my sister." I heard Sam say defensively before I was picked up. I knew it was Sam. He set me down, helping me stand.

"She shouldn't even be awake." I heard Cass say, disbelief lacing each word.

"Shut up and help me, will you?" I said, turning to where the voice came from. I was instantly picked up again and surprise filled me. "Oh-Okay then."

~

We'd gone to the hospital and my head cleared up so I could see properly.

"I don't have to be in this stupid bed." I groaned. Both Sam and Cass had suggested I stay in the hospital bed.

"You must. You shouldn't have even stayed awake. You used your powers for the first time." Cass said. He'd decided to stay with me while Sam goes and checks on Dean.

"What was that about, anyway?" I asked.

"Something must have angered you." he said and looked away. A clear sign that he was either lying or not telling the whole story.

"Hey, it's a bit fuzzy, mind telling me what happened?" I lied. He looked back to me.

"Seeing me in pain must have triggered it." he said.

"Or seeing Dean. His face is all busted up, I feel bad for the ladies." I said sarcastically.

"The powers didn't kick in until he almost sent me to heaven." he argued.

"Okay, but why would that trigger it?" I asked.

"Because I'm your soul mate." he said, straight faced. I laughed but when his expression didn't change it died down.

"That's funny, Cass." I said, worry in my voice. He cocked his head slightly.

"It was not a joke."

"Well then, what the hell do you mean 'soul mate'?" I asked.

"God created you half human so that you could still feel, you can feel anger, sadness, happiness, and love. He made all your emotions more passionate than the regular human though, so he knew you'd need someone to love."

"And that's you? Well, at least it's not Uriel." I spoke, basically talking to myself with the last sentence.

"Yes, it's me. But why, I don't know." he said.

"Well, thanks for clearing all this up for me Cassie, but now, I must go see if my brother is awake." I said, starting to get up.

"Don't." he said and I frowned at him, flopping back down. Dumb idea. I winced in pain.

"Cass," I said dramatically, turning to him. "If this is my last chance to say it," I stared into his now confused eyes. "You're a dick. Now go check on my brother," I said finally. I then pretended to die, sticking my tongue out for extra measure. I heard him sigh and stand up, leaving. After a while of peace, Sam walked to the door. "Sammy!" I said, sitting up.

"Hey." he said. I noticed he was just standing at the door.

"Is Dean awake yet?" I asked.

"Not yet, no," he said and I sighed. I looked at my wrist, which had an iv I didn't even need. I pulled it out and stood up. "Where the hell are you going?" he asked, amusement in his tone.

"I wasn't there for him when I should've been. I'm going to be there when he wakes up, so help me," I said, a warning tone at the end, pointing a finger at Sam. He held up his hands in a defensive motion and walked with me to the next room over--Deans. I sat down next to his mangled body and sighed, "I'm sorry, Dean."

~

I had fallen asleep in the chair next to Dean, when I shot awake. I felt a pain on my cheeks and a strike of pain went through my body, I felt like I'd been thrown across that room again. I groaned and suppressed a scream, then there was another pain on my cheek, not as drastic, but still hurt like hell. It felt like someone just hit me with a metal pole, I could feel the cool of it on my head as it happened. My vision became a picture, Uriel and Cass. Cass was bloodied and on his knees, he looked as I felt and as I put my hand to my nose, I found that it was bleeding just like his.

"You can't win, Uriel. I still serve God." Cass said, looking up to Uriel.

"You haven't even met the man!" Uriel said and punched Cass before the vision faded out. There was a pain on my cheek, like Uriel's punch and I whimpered, somehow, I'd ended on the floor.

"Castiel." I whispered in pain. Another punch pain came, then another. Then it all stopped.

"Rhett?" I heard Sam after a moment.

"Sam, Cass is in trouble." I groaned, sitting up.

"I am fine." I heard. Two people kneeled beside me and I looked at Cass, who was no longer bleeding.

"Oh, yeah, sure! You get beat to hell in my vision and then show up here with no scratches. That makes sense." I said sarcastically.

"Vision?" Sam asked.

"Yes, keep up," I said, turning to him before back to Cass. "You didn't tell me about this." I groaned. I felt him pick me up and I was sat back in the chair.

"I didn't expect it to start so soon." he answered.

"What's going on?" Sam asked.

"Sam, leave. I got to talk to Cass," I said. He left hesitantly, closing the door fully. I turned to Cass. "Tell me more about soul-mates."
