The Dinner Table.

Haymitch and Effie had gotten the call late last night also. Since all of the remaining victors has taken residence in district twelve, the gamemakers would be randomly selecting certain people for each district. We are all mentors now, our only job to be coaching our specific tributes into death. It's gonna be hard, I'll admit that. But with them being Capitol children, that'll make it a little better for my to justify it.

After we got the call, neither of us slept. We just laid in bed holding each other close. The announcement for the games would be that morning at seven, three hours from then. As we laid there he rubbed my stomach assuring me everything would be okay. But then, he told me none of this would even be happening if I had voted no that day. He got mad and walked from the room at about six thirty, then after that we ate breakfast and sat down on the couch. Where we sit now and wait for the announcement.

Peeta's arm hugs my side and I lean my head on his shoulder. Even though we may not always get along, we are always there for each other. Because we keep each other grounded, we love each other; and without the other we wouldn't be the person we are today. A new Capitol logo appears, of a peacekeepers pointing a gun at a young woman's head. The figures are blackened so you can't see anything, but I know who the girl is. Me. I can't remember which time it was though, I've been threatened countless times by a peacekeeper and a gun.

Why would they use this logo? Then the best part plays. "The greatest thing we can give is our lives." The voice of the evil Alma Coin rings in my ears.

The camera pans to the regular spot where snow used to announce the quarter quell rules. "Welcome." She says, her lips purse into a thin line. "The time has come for a special event. An event of a lifetime, people will speaking for generations after us. As of a year ago, the living victors of previous evil hunger games decided on having a Hunger Games with the capitols children. President Snow's granddaughter being one of the many tributes to come. With Katniss Everdeen and Haymitch Abernathy being the deciding vote, they decided we must have one. In honor of all the deaths that have come throughout the war. So, in honor of Panem's astonishing uprising against a tyrant, we will hold a symbolic hunger games. Filled with Capitol children." There's a pause as the crowds boos and some of them cheer.

The ones cheering are the ones in district clothes. "The tributes are as followed..." She starts rattling off names. All of the names of children of previous Capitol government officials. She starts speaking again. "These children are to be held in the training center until the games are held. The previous victors shall arrive in the Capitol and be assigned tributes. And maybe we'll get some inside information on the star crossed lovers of district twelve Thank you for watching."

The screen goes black. "We should gather our things." Peeta says. I nod and stand as we walk up the stairs together. "Don't bring clothes,  they'll just dress us up like dolls anyways."

I nod and he turns around digging through his clothes anyways. I sigh and wrap my arms around his waist. He stops digging and he hands touch mine. "I love you." I remind him.

"Oh, I love you too Katniss." He says. He turns and faces me. His arms snake around my waist and my hands find the back of his neck and twist in his curls. He finally brings his lips to mine and something exploded in my stomach. It's the hunger, that I felt in the cave, on the beach. He rests his hands on my butt and mine stay tangled in his golden locks. "Your gorgeous."

"No, I'm Katniss." I smile into his chest.

"Oh, you know what I mean." He gently pushes me away I land on the bed and he climbs on top of me. His lips graze over mine and just as he's about to kiss me, he turns and pulls my shirt up. He scatters kisses all over my stomach. Im showing now, anybody with eyes can see it. Should take some of the publicity off of the games.

Once he's done, he stands pulling me with him. "Let's get your jacket on." He smiles holding my jacket up. I slide my arms into it and he takes our small bag and we stand in the middle of the victors village. One by one the houses empty, each victor coming out with somber looks on their faces.

"Let's go then." Haymitch says taking Effie's hand. Their together now. Gale is here.

"Are they making you a mentor?" I ask Gale.

"Yes, Most of the people in the victors village are. Not enough victors per district."

There's a pause. "You'll get Snow's granddaughter." Someone tells me.

"I don't care." I shrug. "I just want to be with Peeta."

Cressida giggles and I link my arm in hers. I notice her hair is growing back; but she had styled it so it's unnoticeable. "How's the pregnant life girl on fire?" She asks feeling my belly.

"Sucks. But it's good. He really helps me through it." I nod towards Peeta who's holding my hand.

"I'm only a month along, so it's not that bad yet. But I'm sure Gale will help." I nod.

"Gale's a good man. Have you had any doubts about the marriage."

"No, he's been good."

"That's good." I smile. Haymitch taps my side.

"Can I talk to you.?" He asks.

"Yeah." I break from both Peeta and Cressida and slow down to walk by Haymitch. "Any advice?" I joke.

"Not a drop." He admits. "I just want to give you and the boy some advice. When your in an interview, or talking to a Capitol reporter or official make everything about your love life. The wedding, your dress, the marriage, the baby. Take the attention off the games."

"Okay."

"Everything should be fine sweetheart." He tells me.

"Okay." I repeat.

"Get going sweetheart." I move quickly for a few steps before meeting with Peeta and taking his hand.

A Capitol train is waiting for us. We'll get there faster this way, Capitol trains move faster. We board and I pull Peeta down on the couch next to me. That's when I notice Brutus and Ennobaria are here too, she's very pregnant. She's having a baby with Brutus. I smile. "I'm happy to know our victors are finding their happiness."  She nods towards the pair. "You deserve it."

I want to open my mouth like I did the first time she said that; but Peeta squeezes my hand as if to tell me no. So he takes my hand and pulls me to the end room. Once there i snuggle into his soft chest. "As much as I'd like to cuddle." He starts. "I'd really like a shower."

"But there's people here Peeta." I whisper as if people can hear us.

"Lock the door, lock the bathroom door. No one will know."

"Are you sure?" I ask quietly.

He nods. "Double sure."

I shake my head and pull him with me as I stand. I race him into the bathroom and he locks the door before I can get in. "Peeta!" I whine. "Let me in! If you don't your taking a shower alone."

The door immediately gets unlocked and I rush inside. He's already standing naked, turning on the shower. "Oh my god." I bend over the best I can laughing. I wipe the tears from my eyes and stop with a sigh. A few more giggles escape before I'm finally done.

"Can we just get a shower?" He asks slightly and obviously aggitated.

"Let's just get a shower." I nod to him. He smiles and kisses me quick. "No funny business this time." I warn.

"Deal." I undress and we shower and kiss until Effie calls us for dinner. We walk into the dinning car and Gale starts to snicker.

"What?" I ask sitting down next to him.

"You both took a shower?" He asks.

"Yeah. So?"

"Together?" He smirks.

"Yeah." I shrug. "Whatever." I pile food onto my plate. Cressida winks at me when I look and see her plate is full too. Ennobaria's plate is full too.

"Eat it up girl." Haymitch smiles.

"She's eating for two." Peeta smiles proudly.

"I'll admit, I never thought sweetheart would let you get her pregnant." He says to Peets. I feel my cheeks get hot and everyone laughs.

"I was just as shocked as you all are." He grins.

"Oh knock it off." I mutter. A silence falls over the table. "I was kidding people!"  I exclaim raising my hands above my head.

"Thought it was those damn hormones." Gale jokes.

"Language!" Effie scolds.

"When we get married, will you all come?" I ask everyone at the table.

"Have you started planning a wedding yet?" Effie asks taking a small sip of a blue liquid.

"No, I just want you all to come. We're like a family right?"

"Damn right!" Gale says. This time, Effie doesn't yell at him for language.

"To family." Peeta takes my hand in his raising his glass.

"To family." We follow.

That's the best dinner I've ever had. I've laughed more than I have in a while; these people are my family. I love them more than anything in the world. Because these people and the one in my stomach are all I really have.

Oh, and Buttercup.
