Home Tutor Reborn

That damn Baka-mitsu....

Reborn thought in frustration.

He'd just flown from Italy to Japan on his boss's orders and though it was a mission, he'd wished that useless excuse for a father would have provided him useful information about his son.

Most of the information in that file about Sawada Tsunayoshi was about how adorable he is, how smart and charismatic he is, so on and so forth. It was highly disturbing and in fact completely not true at all.

Reborn had made his own investigative work and from what he gathered, it wasn't anything impressive at all.

In school, he's well-known for being a no-good student. Grades were at the bottom percentage in school, suck at sports and has no friends at all. He wasn't in any after-school clubs and spend his days alternating between school and home.

Their was nothing interesting about this boy's life at all. Just a basic, plain, boring kid.

So much for being a candidate for a boss.

However, just as Reborn was about to conclude his observations and label him a failure,  he witnessed something unexpected from him.

The 'fight' he had with the infamous school prefect made Reborn see something he would never expect from a wimpy person like him.

Though he was falling and stumbling about his feet to avoid the tonfas, only someone with an trained eye could see that each and every one of his movements were controlled and precise.

He knew how much distance he should move to avoid the hit and his eyes were observant to that raven-haired boy's moments. At that point of time, Tsuna looked as though he knew what he was doing and has been doing it for years.

Not only was the prefect impressed, Reborn was too.

As he watched the both of them enter the school building, he smirked to himself in anticipation.

Looks like this kid would be someone worth tutoring. There might be hope for the Vongola after all.

That night after Reborn was 'hired' by Nana-san to tutor her son and he introduced himself to them. Reborn can tell Tsuna was immediately suspicious of him at which was not entirely surprising due to his appearance but there was something else that even Reborn can't pinpoint behind those distrusting eyes.

Something dark and old.

Reborn wasn't fazed though. It just means that he'd have to investigate further into this and in the meantime, get to know him better.

But first, he'll have to teach him about his ancestors and Vongola's history, something that should've been done by his father but now falls onto him.

Still, it's been some time since he'd get to have any fun with a student. Tutoring Dino was interesting but something tells Reborn that tutoring Tsuna would be something else entirely.

I can't wait for tomorrow. He smirked as he laid down onto the makeshift hammock, all the while he could hear the boy grumbling under his breath about stupid fedora-wearing babies.

He smiled to himself.

Yes, tomorrow's going to be fun.

<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

One hard smack to the head should do it. Reborn smirked as he readied his hammer in the air to smash it down onto the sleeping brunette.

To his surprise though, right as he was about to swing it, the boy's eyes snapped open and he eyed Reborn with an irritated glare.

Huh... Did he sense me?

Reborn thought and was surprised once again when Tsuna answered his unspoken question.

"Your bloodlust is leaking out."

He said and then frowned when he slowly sober up from his sleep and realized what Reborn was trying to do.

"What the hell are you trying to do just now?" He glared at Reborn and then at the hammer in his hands.

Reborn smirked, pleased at his reaction.

Interesting. This must be the Hyper Intuition I've heard about.

"Great that you're up. Quickly have breakfast and go to school. I don't want you to be late."

Tsuna groaned as he got up. Reborn watched him shuffle over to his closet and overheard him muttering something that sounds like a curse.

"Hmm? Do you have something you'd like to say to me?" Reborn smiled sweetly at him with his gun out.

Tsuna immediately paled. "N-no! N-nothing!" He stuttered and waved his arms about, flustered.

Hm, he needs to get rid of that stutter. Reborn noted.

Some special training is required.

<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

After a short lecture about his ancestors and the real reason why he's here, the boy stared at him with the most absolute dumbfounded expression, as though his brain just got fried with trying to process this information.

Reborn waited a second, then two. And that's when his patience ran out. He swiftly slapped him on the head to wake him up from his stupor and he yelped.

"Ouch Reborn! What was that for?!" He frowned.

"Do you understand? I am here to train you to become the Vongola Decimo. That's your right."

"Aren't there others candidates for the Decimo?" He grumbled.

Reborn knew this question was coming and took out some pictures and news articles that he prepared beforehand and showed it to him.

"There are or should I say there were. They're all dead now."

He watched as the boy's jaw dropped as he saw the article and his eyes scan through it as though he's reading the article.

Wait, the article's written in Italian. How does he know how to read that?

Reborn eyed him again but he wasn't looking at the article anymore. He was staring at the graphic photographs of the bodies; all of it filled with gore. Surprisingly, he did not flinch at the sight of it but rather, he frowned at it with disgust. Not disgust over the blood, but disgust at whoever did this to them.

Reborn could feel the Tsuna's anger radiating from his body and it perked his interest.

"Why would anyone do this?" He muttered.

Reborn remained silent as he doubted Tsuna was asking him a question, rather he was just talking out loud to himself. Plus, this kind of question never did have a proper answer for it. People kill without reason. Simple as that. In Reborn's world, it was kill or be killed. But he was sure that's not the response Tsuna would appreciate hearing right now so he kept his mouth shut and let Tsuna process the information before continuing.

"Thus, you're now the last candidate for the Decimo. I was chosen by Vongola Nono to come train you for that role."

He watched as Tsuna shook in head in denial.

"No! No! No! I can't believe this is happening! First that and now this?! Fate must really have a grudge against me. What did I do to deserve this?!"

Tsuna ranted, pacing back and forth in his room.

Reborn has no idea what he's talking about nor does he care. All he knows that his mission was to train the Vongola Decimo's candidate into a man worthy of succeeding the Ninth and he damn well will be doing that.

Never once has he ever failed a mission. And even though this is somewhat different from other missions that he had accomplished. This was still a mission nevertheless. One where failure was not an option.

The word 'failure' is not in Reborn's vocabulary, for he is the #1 hitman in the world after all.

Tsuna had better be prepared for what's coming. Reborn was sure to make his life a living hell and one he'd take enjoyment in.
