Crybaby Cow
After the whole situation with Yamamoto was over, Tsuna returned to his days of idling and trying to run away from the hitman. Each morning was the same torturous routine with Reborn trying to bash his brains in with his hammer and Tsuna trying to escape from it. Tsuna can tell that Reborn was clearly enjoying this. Maybe he and Death could get along.
Unfortunately, he didn't have the chance to escape from him during the weekends because his mother is at home and he couldn't just run out of the house without telling her. Thus, he was stuck playing the part of a good student to his sadistic tutor. However, this time for once, he was actually tutoring Tsuna on his schoolwork like a normal teacher would.
"Um......is the answer 4?"
"Wrong."
And thus, Tsuna poor room was littered in dust and his table scorched—again.
"R-Reborn!" Tsuna coughed and spluttered as the smoke before him clears.
"Now let's try that again." He said, looking nonchalantly back at Tsuna as though he didn't just set off an explosive in his face.
Guess I actually have to put in enough in my homework this time.... He sulked.
He definitely did not want to get blown up again. But then again, if he started to get every question right, Reborn was sure to suspect something was wrong. He could purposely answer a few questions wrong but.....
He sneak a glance at the stack of explosives beside him.
I really don't want to get hit with that....
He gulped a lump of saliva down his throat, fearing for the worst.
A rustling in a nearby tree caught Tsuna's attention and he turned to the window just in time to see a small kid with a huge afro, wearing a cow printed outfit and the most alarming thing was, the kid was holding a large bazooka that was pointing right at them.
"DIE REBORN!" The kid shouted and fired off his bazooka. The recoil knocked him backwards off the tree but Tsuna was more concerned by the missile heading towards them.
He got to his feet to get ready to run but Reborn sat there calmly as he continued to look through Tsuna's homework.
"Dame-Tsuna, you got this question wrong. Redo it." Reborn chided, eyes not looking up from the table.
Tsuna stood there flabbergasted at his nonchalant behavior as the missile got closer. But right at the last minute, it was stopped with a pair of green chopsticks when it was within a inch of Reborn's face. Without looking up from the paper, he turned the missile around and threw it out the window.
A loud explosion resounded throughout the air and Tsuna winced when he heard a loud cry from below.
"BUKYAAA!!"
What a strange cry....I do hope he's alright.
Tsuna can't help but sympathize with the poor boy.
"Dame-Tsuna, remember this formula." Reborn continued.
Seriously?
Tsuna didn't think this was the right time to continue his lessons but he didn't want to risk angering the infant by disobeying his orders, so he sat back down and tried to resume his focus on his studies.
"Tsu-kun! Could you come down for a sec?" His mother's voice called from below.
With Reborn's gracious permission, he went downstairs to see what his mother wanted.
Upon reaching the last step, he saw his mother standing there with the sobbing child he saw from earlier standing beside her.
"He says he's Reborn-Chan's friend and traveled a long way to play with him. I don't know what happened between the two of them but as the older one, why don't you try to have them make up?" His mother smiled at him.
Tsuna groaned inwardly at her mother's cluelessness. Nana probably thought that the two of them was having a child's squabble and were ignoring each other.
Heck, Tsuna wished it was that simple. But the 'child' his mother thought of them as were nothing of the sort. Children these days definitely does not carry bombs or firearms on them. And they definitely would not be going around killing to assassinate someone way out of their league.
With no other choice, Tsuna bought the sniffling cow up to his room where Reborn was still looking Tsuna's work.
The moment he stepped into the room, the child in his arms stopped sniffling and his expression changed into a mischievous smile.
"GYAHAHAHA!! DIE REBORN!" He yelled and threw numerous bombs at him. Reborn easily swiped away the bombs with a wave of his hand and redirected the bombs back towards the thrower.
He exploded with a piercing cry that made Tsuna wince in sympathy. He really did feel bad for the poor child.
Haven't he learned his lesson? And Reborn's not having any mercy on this poor boy.....
"Reborn, do you know him?" Tsuna had to ask. Their relationship seems like they had known each other for a long while.
"Nope. Never seen him before in my life." He immediately answered with a nonchalant tone. All this time, he had not once looked up from his task. It was as if the person in question was not even worth his time to talk about.
When the dust cleared, the poor boy was left sitting there with soot and dirt on his face from the explosion. Tears welled up in his eyes as he struggled not to let them fall.
"To....ler....ate....." He chanted over and over again.
Is that his way of stopping himself from crying? If so, he's not doing a good job of it.... Tsuna sighed at the poor attempt to calm himself.
"To......ler.....ate ......I CAN'T!!!" The boy yelled out the last word with a loud cry. Reaching into his afro, he pulled out a purple bazooka and pointed it to himself.
"WAIT! WHA—"
Right before Tsuna could finish that sentence, the boy had already pulled the trigger and an explosion engulfed the room in pink smoke.
To Tsuna's astonishment, instead of a crying cow, now there lies a man that looks a whole lot like a older teen version of the boy. Except this teen has frizzy black black instead of the boy's afro and strangely, he's also wearing similar cowhide pattern on his collar with black, long-sleeves jacket coupled with beige colored pants and sandals.
Overall, the person here looks really suspicious and scruffy looking.
"So that's the infamous 10 year bazooka." Reborn (finally) spoke up.
"The 10 years bazooka?" Tsuna frowned in confusion.
"It's said that whoever it hits will be exchange with his 10 year self into the future. It is developed by the Bovino Familgia, this idiot's family."
Tsuna's eyes widen in surprise at what Reborn just said.
A device that can give you a glimpse of your future self? How is that possible?
Tsuna took another glance at the teen on the floor and really couldn't see how he could have be part of such a great family of inventors
Appearances may be deceiving I guess....
The teen caught him looking and got up.
"Hello Young Decimo, I hope my younger self isn't causing you too much trouble. My name is Lambo of the Bovino Family. Please to meet your acquaintance."
Tsuna was taken aback at the 180 degree change this Lambo person had underwent that he was speechless.
How could this guy here be the same person as the crying brat from before? Tsuna marveled at how 10 years could really completely change a person, in both attitude and personality.
But more importantly, Tsuna caught the way Lambo had addressed him.
Decimo?!
He's the decimo in the future?! How in the world did that even happen? Wasn't he supposed to have died? He was sure 10 years from now he wouldn't be alive since Death would have already claimed him.
So what does this mean?
He lived? He got to live past his 15th year and more? He defeated Death?
There were just too many questions that had came up from that one simple sentence from this future person's mouth.
Reborn saw the confused expression on Tsuna's face and knew how surprised Tsuna was at seeing the change in the stupid cow. However, what he didn't know was that Tsuna had more pressing matters about his own life to worry over.
"Don't be fooled Dame-Tsuna. He may talk like that but he's still a pathetic, crybaby inside." Reborn smirked at him.
"Ah Reborn my friend. You're wrong. I've matured. I won't pick petty fights with you anymore. I've realized that—"
He didn't get to finish that sentence because Reborn threw a kick at his face, sending him flying back.
"Why did you do that Reborn!?" Tsuna shouted. He can't believe Reborn sometimes, kicking a person for no apparent reason.
"He annoys me." Reborn simply answered.
Ah. That's still no a justifiable reason to kick someone but then again, it's Reborn.....
Tsuna sighed and went over to squat beside the teen.
"Are you alright?" He ask.
Teen Lambo didn't look anything close to being alright. Tears welled up in his eyes and he was muttering something over and over.
"To....ler....ate......"
Tsuna wasn't that surprised to see that he was still using the same technique he was using even after 10 years.
"I CAN'T!!!"
And it still didn't work after 10 years. Lambo's still a crybaby—through and through.
Lambo finally lost it and burst into a stream of waterworks. But before Tsuna could do anything, there was a sudden poof and 5 year old Lambo was back again. He held a candy in his hands and looked dazed but otherwise seemed fine.
"Hmm. The bazooka's effects only last for 5 minutes and then the person will return to his original time." Reborn observed.
Lambo turned his confused face towards Tsuna and his face immediately turned bright. "TSU-NII!!" He ran and jumped into Tsuna's arms.
Huh?
"Um Lambo, did you confuse me with someone else?" Tsuna asked. He was pretty sure this was the first time he met this brat but the way Lambo looked at him was one of adoration which was strange because Tsuna never did anything to the boy that made him earn that kind of emotion.
Lambo shook his head fiercely and looked up at Tsuna with admiration in his eyes.
"No. You're Lambo-san's Tsu-nii! You gave Lambo-san delicious candy and you played with Lambo-san all day! You're Lambo-san's brother!"
That explanation made no sense to Tsuna at all because he never did any of that stuff that Lambo had mentioned but Lambo seemed so positive that it was him.
Just what did he saw in the future?
If what Lambo was saying was true, and his future self really did play with the boy. That means he really did survive his 15th year and made it to his twenties?
It seemed so unbelievable and Tsuna almost didn't dare hope. Still, if there's a possibility, Tsuna would want to explore it. Not right now though. He was stuck under the watchful gaze of Reborn and he was sure Lambo wasn't going to lend his the bazooka that easily without blabbering out to everyone.
Thus for now, Lambo's going to stick around the house since he was still dead set on assassinating Reborn. His mother was so delighted to have another person living under the roof so she has no objections.
Tsuna glanced at the two baby in the room and felt a headache building.
He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.
Not another baby in the house. Is this place going to become a baby daycare center?
An abnormal daycare at that. Not when the babies carry firearms and explosives in hand and try to kill each other at any moment of the day. Well, it was mostly Lambo instigating the attacks and Reborn would casually deflect each attempt right back at his face. Cries were heard all around the house and Lambo would always run to Tsuna for comfort.
He just doesn't get why he keeps trying even though it was obviously futile. All Lambo was doing was adding more damages to his room and making him busy with all the cleaning he has to do.
Tsuna heaved a deep sigh....
I just want my peaceful days back!
<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>
"Son." The King called the boy over. "Please keep Prince Lampo company while his father and I attend a meeting."
"Alright father." The boy bowed politely and left the room to find the little prince.
People greeted him respectfully as they passed him and the boy greeted back. On the surface, all everyone could see of the boy was how calm and sophisticated as how a prince should be. But they all didn't know the other side of the boy that was silently cursing up a storm in his mind.
Not again! Father only asked me to do this because he doesn't want the little brat to run around destroying his precious antiques like he did the last time he was here.
He growled internally and had to take a breath to calm himself before his facade broke.
That obnoxious brat was the prince of the neighboring kingdom and one of their kingdom's closest allies. That means it was important to form close relationships with them and that includes inviting them over every month for a meeting on how to benefit both kingdoms.
While his father was busy with negotiations, the boy was stuck with the babysitting job.
He burst open the doors to the brat's room and saw that he was nowhere to be seen.
"Damn it. Not again..." The boy muttered.
That brat must've ran out of the room again to mess around. He does this every time when he's supposed to stay in the room and behave like a good prince he was suppose to be. But this kid is still just a brat. A lazy brat who doesn't like to do what he's told.
The boy thought while running throughout the castle before running out to the garden where he knew that the brat would most likely be hiding if he's not in the castle.
The boy searched frustratingly around the garden before he spotted a fuzzy looking bush. It was different from the rest of the greenery and he immediately knew who it was.
He marched over towards it and found a sleeping child with light green, unkept hair and a small black lightning bolt mark under his right eye.
He had a peaceful looking smile on his face as he slept and the boy almost felt bad for having to wake him up but then he remembered all the trouble he went though because of him and all the guilt went away.
Taking a deep breath to calm his anger as it was not befitting for a person his caliber to throw a tantrum, he squatted down and whispered softly to him.
"Prince Lampo. It's not appropriate for a prince to sleep out here. Let's head back into the castle, okay?"
The prince stirred and muttered in his sleep, still not waking up. The boy nudged him a few times before he drowsily opened his eyes and stared into the other's face.
"Hehe~ Stupid face is here~" He giggled and the boy immediately felt his blood boiling in him.
Calm down. Calm down! He didn't mean it. He's just sleep-talking. At least I hope he was otherwise I'm THIS close to punching someone.
"Lampo. Wake the hell up before I make you." The boy said in a stern tone, the politeness in his tone gone. He was not in the mood to play nice anymore and besides, the little prince has seen the boy's real personality before so it wouldn't matter.
The two argued all the time but in the end, they're stuck together due to their duties and status as a prince. Though both of them doesn't have a personality of one.
Lampo finally sat up drowsily with one eye still shut and yawned.
"Heya idiot prince!" He greeted with a lazy smile.
"Speak for yourself, moccioso."
They glared at one another for a while before the boy broke away with a sigh of resignation.
"C'mon. Let's go inside and help ourselves to some snacks before father finds out we're gone." The boy waved the other over and proceed towards the door, knowing that he'll be following behind despite him being a rebellious brat. The promise of sweets was always the easiest way to get the little prince to behave for a while.
Once inside, the boy got himself a slice of cake while he watched the little brat stuff himself with all sorts of exotic sweets stored for special events. But now, it ended up as bargaining material to keep the prince in check.
The boy sighed again as he watched the other eat. Babysitting was definitely not part of the job description of a prince but he still had to put up with it.
It was not all that bad though. His relationship with Lampo could be classified as a brotherly kind; an obnoxious little brother that the boy has the responsibility to uphold.
He didn't mind that too much because he already has a biological younger brother but didn't have to take care of him because a nursemaid does the job for them.
That's why he never understood how much effort it was to take care of a younger sibling.
As much as there's the good and the bad, he found that he sincerely hoped that he'd never have to do it ever again.
