Chapter Three

she still didn't like him 

3rd person pov 

kailani got a call from sam after the bar and she walked into the room of the house that she was staying at and she answered. 

"sam, hey whats up?" she asked and she heard sam take a deep shaky breathe 

"i was just attacked in the hospital and i dont know what to do, can you come?" sam asked and kai was up putting her shoes back on and making sure that her door, windows and everything was locked. 

"yeah, ill be there in a second" she told the women and she could hear sam smile softly but sadly.

"thank you lani" 

"anytime sam, you know i would do anything for her" she stated and she ended the call as she grabbed her car keys. mindy and the others had quickly fallen asleep so kai left the house and went to the hospital. 

"sam" she called out and the women turned to her as she ran over and hugged her. richie watched the two women not knowing what to do. 

"hey, im right here. i won't let you get hurt" she told her and sam smiled sadly at her as kai rubbed the womens back and comforted her. she made eye contact with richie and she knew that she still didn't like him. 

"tara won't talk to me, the police won't help me, i dont know what to do, do you?" Sam asked kai and she nodded. 

" i know exactly what to do" she exclaimed and they ended up at dewey rileys trailer the next morning. kai knocked on the door and she heard her honorary uncle. 

"go away" he called to them 

"sorry to bother you, mr.riley. we just want to ask you a few questions" sam called out to him 

"i dont give interviews" 

"we're not looking for an interview" sam told him 

"give me one good reason why i should talk to you" he said as he stood at the doorway and looked at the girls who stood with richie 

"im billy loomis's daughter and this is randy meeks niece" she stated and he opened the door as kai waved and he looked at her 

"kai?" he asked and she nodded. 

"hi dewey" she said and he smiled before he turned to sam and looked her up and down. 

"thats a terrible reason for me to talk to you" he told sam and she nodded 

"my name is samantha carpenter, i was attacked last night at the hospital, the night before that, my sister was stabbed seven times , i know you know what thats like, im just trying to protect my family, five minutes, thats all im asking" sam told him 

"ill give you two minutes, im missing a show i like" he stated and kai laughed as they walked in together and they saw gale on the tv. 

"gale weathers, weren't you two..." richie led off 

"yeah, whos he?" he asked sam as they sat down on the couch and he sat on the chair, kai leaned on the doorway 

"this is richie, my boyfriend" sam stated and dewey looked at kai. he was one of the people that she had gone to when everything had happened, dewey took over the space that randy couldn't fill due to his death. 

"how long have you known him?" dewey asked, he was doing the whole "is your boyfriend the killer?" thing and kai couldn't blame him. she was glad to know that someone else knew how scary the guy looked, she got a weird vibe from him and if someone else did that would be 2 for 0. 

"6 months" 

"did he know who your dad was when you met? express any interest in woodsboro or the ghostface killings? " 

"what the hell are you talking about?" richie asked 

"im sure you know richie" kai stated and sam turned to the girl with her eyebrows raised and her eyes squinted. she knew why kai was looking at richie that way 

"your killer is obsessed with the stab movies , right? well, there are certain rules to surviving a stab movie, believe me i know" he told the trio 

"oh yay uncle randys rules, i love them" kailani said and he laughed. even in dark times, she could make the sun shine and everything look brighter. 

"yes randys rules, alright rule number 1: never trust the love interest, they seem sweet , caring, supportive, and then welcome to act 3 where theyre trying to rip your head off" he told them 

"i was with sam in modesto when tara was attacked"

"let me guess, you were just in the other room conveniently unaccounted for when she was attacked at the hospital" 

"okay, do i have to take this from shitty sam elliot over here or what?" richie asked and kai kicked his leg 

"respect my uncle asshole, hes trying to save our lives" kai told him 

"okay rule number 2: the killers motive is always connected to something in the past" he stated 

"im related to billy and kais related to randy" sam exclaimed and they all nodded. 

"right but then why kill that random vince guy?" richie asked 

"thats for you to figure out, rule number 3 and this is the most important rule: first victim always has a friend group that the killer is apart of, does your sister have a close knit group of friends?" he asked sam 

"yeah , she does but kais siblings are apart of that friend group" sam stated 

"they could still be the killers, look for the killer there, if you can find out why they're doing this, you can figure out whos next" dewey said 

"so help us, help us figure out whos behind this" sam asked 

" are you kidding me? ive been stabbed nine times. ive got permanent nerve damage and a fun little limp, you think i want to do that again?" he asked 

"you just said it always goes back to the past, right? so if im in danger, that means you're in danger, come on, lets do this, together" sam said 

"your times up" dewey told them and he kicked them out 

"jesus, yeah he's way more fun in the movies , okay whats next?" richie asked 

"the friends" sam said and they left his trailer to go home with richie. 

if only they knew what the future would hold, sam and kai had each other though and that would be enough.
