Chapter Eleven 

Theyre family

3rd person pov 

after everything had happened, chad and mindy went on with their lifes. Kai had decided to finish her freshmen year at woodsboro university and then transfer to be able to protect her siblings there. She knew that her siblings could be OK on their own, but she was worried after everything had happened. Her teachers understood and let her transfer her credits and they supported her with everything she did. 

Finding out that both her siblings got into Blackmore with some thing that made her feel over joyed, and then she found out that Tara got in too. She and Sam had a whole big conversation about what they would do and how they would support their siblings where they landed was them buying an apartment together and getting a roommate to help them pay rent. it would be a four bedroom one bath and they would share everything. that was Kai's dream to live with Sam and be close to her family and now she was doing it. 

Here we are in Kais dorm room before she left for new york and blackmore. Mindy and Tara sat on her bed sorting through her clothes and putting them in either the donate or keep boxes. Chad was helping her lift all the extra weight into the U-Haul and Sam was cleaning up after them.

"Jesus Lani what do you have in this?" chad asked her about one specific box and she turned to look at him 

"honestly I don't know I put things into boxes and just hope they would fit" she stated and sam chuckled under her breathe 

" you realize this box could explode with how much weight it has in it, right?" he questioned and she shrugged 

"yeah but I mean I am going to empty the box when I get to the apartment. I actually think I know what's in that box now that I think about it though." she said and she grabbed the box as she opened it and smiled 

"what is it?" tara and mindy asked together and kai looked at them 

"come here" she exclaimed and they all walked over to crowd around the box and they saw what she was smiling about. 

"this is all your childhood stuff. Is that Mr. squiggles?" tara asked as she held up the stuffed frog she got when she was younger and kai laughed 

"you never could go  anywhere without him, could you?" sam exclaimed and kai shook her head 

"no I mean he was my hospital stuffed animal. I don't even remember when I named him squiggles I actually think Chad did that for me." she said and they all turned to him 

"seems accurate, but why do you still have him?" he asked again 

"I keep them because it stops me from missing dad but also because it reminds me that I'm still that little girl. I never let go of Mr. squiggles, because he was the one thing that made me feel like a child. I took him with me to Woodboro university, and he slept in my room with me. My roommate was a pure asshole who bullied me for it but when I told her what he meant, she understood and she showed me her childhood blanket. Mr. squiggles has always been here. It's like you with your Pokémon onesie. Or Mindy with that hoodie" she explained 

"hey don't shade my blue and purple hoodie, it got me through hard times" mindy said and tara laughed 

"yeah okay" she said 

"you get it now though, right? Mr. squiggles got me through hard times like the blue and purple hoodie did. I keep him to remind me that I am a kid and I will always be a kid, and I may have not been a teenager but I was one at some point that means something" she said and sam smiled 

"so what else is in this box?" she questioned and kai laughed 

"my childhood, Mr. squiggles,  the blankets, the photo albums. Oscars collar." she said and chad sighed 

"you kept our dead cats collar?" he said and she nodded 

"of course i did, wanted to remember that he is apart of me and who i used to be when i was growing up and learning how to be someone without clinging onto her parents or siblings. Oscar was our first ever animal but he meant something more to me" she stated 

"that actually makes alot of sense" tara said and kai smiled at her 

"since when did this turn from you packing up and leaving to us having a therapy session?" mindy asked 

" since we're alive. We went through a lot of shit. Mindy and we're alive and we're breathing and we get to talk about it. This isn't a therapy session. This is us reminding us who we are but since you're complaining we can get back to packing and leaving" she said and mindy sighed 

"you make it sound like a bad thing" she said and tara nodded 

"we are going to same place ya know that right?" tara asked and kai through a pillow at her making all of them laugh. 

"alright lets get back to work" chad said and they all nodded. Kai and Chad began to work on the boxes again and sam helped them. Mindy and Tara took polariods of everything in the dorm so they could help kai remember it and who she was. 

this was where she began and she was going to continue growing as a human. thats what people do and she would continue to do it. she might just need a little help along the way, but that's what her brother and Tara and everyone else is for. 

Theyre family and they're always gonna be family no matter what this just proves my point
