So i mostly drew this for SoraTheDutchie because she's writing a story where this version of crystel is relevent (the story is called Disease Of The Mind, go read it) and while crystel isnt a super main character, she does appear in the story mainly for the purpose of transforming into a giant beast and wreaking havoc.

Anyways, Disease of the mind is an undertale fanfiction and the general idea plays off of the Gaster Blaster Sans au, but in this case (mostly) any monster in the underground is liable to transform into large dangerous animalistic creatures if they contract the disease.

But anyways, Crystel does have a beast form, the design of which actually goes back a few years, making it one of crystel's oldest designed forms.

The drawing isnt really finished, its basically just a rough sketch but it should still get the design across.

And i also did a little zoom-in and cleanup of the face and head so we can see the details there

Alright, time for the annual artist ramble

Her design is meant to play off of and counteract gb sans's. Instead of having a more slim or graceful look, her beast form is meant to be stocky, defensive, and powerful, like a walking tank. In this form she has large paws, muscular legs, and broad shoulders. Despite this, she has quite a bit of stamina and can run fast and is able to use speed and momentum to throw her weight around. If you see her charging gET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY BEFORE YOU GET PUNTED HALFWAY ACROSS THE GLOBE

And what about all that spiny business going on around her neck and tail? Those are quills, not just regular fur. Her quills mainly add two things: silhouette and function. They make her look a lot larger and more dangerous, with a spiky hulking shape from a distance, sort of inspired by a spinosaurus. And for function, theyre mainly defensive. If another large creature tries to bite her neck or back, boom face full of quills. I imagine they would also make rattling sounds when she moves so if something is judging whether or not to attack her she can be like WIGGLE WIGGLE IMMA RATTLESNAKE BITCH BACK OFF

Aside from that, lets just talk about her design in general. It was important to me to not just make her a big wolf, so she instead has a design with dragon-like features and inspiration from other animals and creatures. She has horns and spikes in some places that are mostly used to aid in protection and combat, her ears got longer and are usually angled back, and her tail becomes long and reptillian, able to be lashed around like a whip.

Her head and face shape changes to be much more narrow and triangular, but not exactly like a wolf's head, since wolves have broad round faces. More like a fox's head shape or even a sighthound dog (like an cermet)

But yep that's beast crystel, she has a pretty special place in my heart and i wish i could draw her more often tbh, but shes actually one of the harder designs ive created--
