Chapter 6 ❣︎︎ Goodbyes
Michael's POV

California, 1993

I had someone going on tour with me. I had an opening act. I had discovered her. She was going to help make me millions. I could tell. She had that star quality.

I knew Selena was going to make it big. I write down ideas for the tour. I was going to be going on this tour in a week. Selena was taking promotional shots for her cd that we were making. Then we would have merch for her to sell in her booths at the concerts.

My music company I was with signed Selena on. AB acting as her manager. She might want to later get a manager that was not a family member.

But we could work on that later. I knew family could fall apart in this line of work. I had left my brothers. Selena might from her siblings then branch out on her own as well.

Only time would tell. I was waiting for Selena and Suzette to head on over here to show me the head shots they had taken of Selena. I was excited to see them. I saw her outfits she created as well for the band. She was gifted in so many ways. Each day I spent with her I wanted to get to know her even more than before. There was something about her.

I was drawn to her. 

And that was a problem. I had a woman. Lisa Marie. I sigh. I had to break things off with Lisa before I went on this tour. I was sure trouble would arise if I did not take care of this right now. I could not send her an email breaking things off. That would be a dick move to do. But that would be something she would do to me. She would have her manager send me an email.

I frown. This was stressful. I had so much going on right now.

"Michal" 

"Lisa? When did you get here?" I stammer a I stand up getting up out of my chair.

Lisa comes wandering in my office. Her curly hair layered around her pretty face. She smiles her red lips at me. Then wanders over to my side. She had on a black and white striped blazer outfit on. One I bought for her last birthday. 

"What am I doing here?" she asks me. "you called my mom asking for me so here I am" she exclaims. "I have missed you so much" she coos.

She hugs me.

"I missed you to. I am leaving for my tour soon" I remind her.

"I know so I had to come see you. I know you will be heading out to Paris on the tour. How about we meet up there. And we can have a romantic date?" she asks me. She wraps her arms around my neck.

Her eyes look into mine.

"How is Danny?" I question.

She looks annoyed. "Michael there is history there. Nothing is going on with him. The kid wanted to see their dad. That is all" she huffs.

"Good to know" I stammer. "I have plans. Can we meet tomorrow?" I ask her.

"Meeting with that new singer Stacy?" she asks me.

"Selena. She is amazing. Wait until you hear her voice" I brag. "she will be my first client for my music business"

"But what about me? I could have went on tour with you? You said you would help my career? I helped you. You are backing out on me now" she grumbles.

"Lisa, you said before you did not want to go on the tour. I asked you about it remember?" I state the facts for her.

"I know but I changed my mind" she sighs.

"So, you want to be on tour with me?" I ask.

"Just a few places. Major cities. Like Paris, Rome" she explains. 

"I see. I need an opening act for all the places I tour at" I mutter.

Silence between us now. I am leaning on my desk as she now sits in my chair.

"Lisa, look we had a good run. This is not working for me" I softly begin to tell her.

Her eyes grow wide as she looks up at me.

"What?"

"At first we had a real spark between us" I say. "but I hardly see you any more. This is not working for me. I am not happy. I have to get in touch with you from your mom. That is not right Lisa. We should want to be together" I say to her.

I was trying not to hurt her but I knew it was going to piss her off.

"I see" says Lisa.

She looked pissed.

"Lisa, I can still help you with your music like I promised I would" I offer.

"No thanks. I can make it on my own. With or without you or my father" she spats out angrily.

"Lisa Marie...." I softly mutter.

"You will never find anyone better than me Michael" she calmly tells me.

Our eyes focused on one another.

"This is far from being over with" she states. Then Selena comes in the room with Suzette and her brother. I groan.

"We can come back later" offers Selena.

"We were just finished. For good" states Lisa Marie.

"I love your dad's movies" pipes up AB. "he is a legend"

That angered Lisa more as she stormed out of there.

"Something I said?" says AB. He looked confused.

I laugh.

"We can come back" Selena says. "I can catch her for you"

"No thanks I said what I needed to. We broke things off" I tell her.

Not sure why I felt I had to tell her this at all.

"I am sorry Michael" she tells me.

"She never had time for me. It was time" I say. She nods as her beautiful brown eyes look into mine. Hope shimmers in her eyes. She smiles at me. Then my heart aches. Such a beautiful smile.

"You are going to love these headshots of Selena" brags Suzette.

We get the photos on my desk. Selena was so perfect. Wearing a simple white tee shirt. A long shirt. Her middle showing. So sexy. So simple though. I had to make sure not to stare too much. But I could look at these photos of her all day.

"I am blown away by these" I tell them. "these are perfect"

"I am glad you loved them Michael" Selena says with a grin.

"I told you" says Suzette.

"Michael one more thing I need to clear up before this tour" says Selena.

"Sure" 

"Am I still your maid? Will I have to help you on the tour? Because I can" offers Selena. She smiles shyly.

"No, you two are no longer my maids. You are on tour. Part of a band. You girls made it. And well guy" I chuckle. I could not wait to go on tour.

Selena grins. Suzette high fives me.

"This is going to be so rad" says Suzette joyfully.
