Manik woke up shouting her name.

No, it was a nightmare!

He looked around his bed no, their bed and found Navya and Cabir around him looking at him worriedly.

Manik's shout woke others except Nandini who was sleeping because of sedatives.

Navya brought the water while Cabir asked, rubbing his back, "Tu thik h? She's perfect! Kuch nhi hua Nandini ko!"

Manik looked beside him and found her sleeping peacefully holding his hand. He nodded and laid back beside her.
He pulled her close and kissed her forehead.

That nightmare brought chills to his heart.  This nightmare was a reminder for him that the devil is still around them.

The Devil is waiting for the right moment. If they can do it once then they can do it again. What is he doing? Mourning in his darkness. No, he can keep his fear aside. Before that he has to make sure that his family and his life is safe. He cannot dwell in the past. He has to be the protector. His life is fighting with death and he's just mourning.

Tomorrow morning, the first thing will be to throw all the devil's out of their life.

Cabir sighed and sat back. After an hour, Manik kissed her fingers and sat looking at Cabir who looked back at him. Navya and Nandini were sleeping so they didn't want to disturb them, but Cabir got what Manik wanted to say so he said, "I'll reopen the case! But Nandini?"

Manik looked at him and whispered, "Let's not drag her in this! At least not now!"

He nodded.

"Tu thik hai?",Cabir asked.

"If I fall, then she will destroy and hurt my loved ones! I can't let it happen. Not today! Not tomorrow!"

"You can take time! I'll deal with this!"

"No! I can't afford to lose any one of you!", Manik said strictly, "Why ain't you talking to her?"

Cabir looked anywhere but him.

"Pucha Maine kuch!", He asked again.

Cabir looked above to avoid the upcoming years in his eyes and said finally, "Chor kr jaa rhi thi! Samjhti kya h khud ko!"

"Wapas aane par natak kr rha h tu!", Manik replied back.

"Nhi karunga baat usse! Kabhi nhi! Nhi! Bilkul nhi!", Cabir said as the traitor tears left his eyes.

"Don't do anything which will stress her!"

Cabir looked at him with accusing eyes and said, "Khud b toh stress dey rha tha ussey! Tujhey pata b h tum dono ney kitna pareshan kiya hai mujhey! Yeh jo hai na tery bagal mey isne promise kiya tha, she'll not let you fall! Eventually she did! The car was for me! It was me who was supposed to take the car but decided to take it! Tujhey samaj aata hai iska bina sabka kya hoga!"

"Wohi Jo tumhre bina hum sab ka hoga!", Nandini said without opening her eyes.

"Ab yeh Bharat milap ho gaya toh so jao tum dono! And Manik, we are not done yet!", She warned with her closed eyes and pulled him back to lie down.

Cabir rolled his eyes mimicking her and closed his eyes with a small smile and teary eyes.

Manik fell beside her as she pulled him. He looked at her and pulled her closer. She hugged him back and whispered, "Zindgi hu na tumhri, kal tumhe mery tum saason ki komaat batati hu! Manik Malhotra, you need to pay for everything!"
