I CAN FIX HIM ! by KissLeclerc
September 5, 2022 # "Very American."

AND WITH THE final bell ringing, Adeline and Genevieve exited their literature classroom side by side. Mindlessly mingling and giggling together as they nearly forgot Ollie had that same class.

Laughing at the boy who grumbled whispered curses at them for leaving him behind, the trio continued to make their way through the halls, happily waving or greeting others that had acknowledged them, Ollie especially.

It was no secret the boy was attractive to the entirety of Westminster Academy, and unlike Paul, he was a respectful and quiet type of guy, never pursuing after girls like the blonde does. However, occasional displays of douche behavior was not uncommon for him.

Because after all, boys will be boys.

"Onhhh, haaaiiii Ollie!" Genevieve flirtatiously waved with her fingers, mocking a bunch of girls a year below them as they had just walked by, making Ollie scoff. A laugh from Adeline emitting from her lips.

"Ohhh, haiii Oliver, please date me! Please kiss me! Oh Ollie you're so handsome and tall and strong and I want you!!!" Adeline added on to the mocking before he playfully shoved the back of her head, receiving an aggressive punch at his chest from the girl.

"OW??-" He stopped walking to wince in pain as she glared at him. "Yeah, don't start something you can't finish." Adeline snickered as Genevieve made fun of him.

"Gen!" The trio was interrupted as Kimi caught up to them in the hallway. "Hi." He smiled, placing a kiss on his girlfriend's temple before glancing over at Ollie who held his chest in pain.

"You okay, mate?" He asked. The taller boy giving him a glare as he obviously wasn't okay.

"I punched him. He can handle it, he's fine." Adeline joked. Ollie standing up straight to shove her in the side.

"OLIVER." She scolded as he laughed in response. Genevieve getting in the between them to prevent the two from having a full on cat fight.

"I'll kill you." Adeline pointed as the boy sent a mocking face at her. "Come on we have to go, you can kill him at the café." Gen insisted before taking Kimi's hand.

As Ollie adjusted the bag that rested on his shoulder, he eyed Adeline to make sure she wouldn't smack him once again. Their relationship was very physical with one another. Not affectionately... but instead they would get into a fist fight if given the chance.

Strolling down the hallway, the four friends exchanged banter and laughter, their footsteps echoing against the tiled floor as they made their exit through the front entrance, continuing to walk towards the parking lot and going over to the spot Paul would usually park.

"Finally!" Joslyn groaned. Standing up from her leaned position against Paul's trunk. "Ugh, Paul left me here to walk Vivienne to her car."

"Ugh, such a gentleman," Genevieve scoffed with a smirk as she opened the trunk, tossing her bag in before the others joined her.

"Who's sitting on who's lap this time?" Joslyn asked since Paul only had five seats.

"Kimi's turn." Gen replied. "He'll sit on me."

"Oh- What." The Italian boy groaned as Ollie pointed and laughed at him before taking his usual spot in the front seat.

He never had to negotiate seating arrangements for the back because of his height advantage, always securing the passenger seat for himself.

"Maybe if you stopped getting speeding tickets, you wouldn't get your keys taken away so often." Adeline laughed. "Then you'll avoid having to carpool."

"Oh, how about you stop being so scared of driving?" Kimi retorted as Genevieve held in a laugh. "You have a license too, you know."

"Oh. Oh wow." She was left speechless.

"You guys ready?" Paul suddenly came back. A happy expression painted across his face.

"Yeah. Been ready." Joslyn groaned before finally getting into the backseat.

Finally getting the group to settle into the car, Adeline took the middle seat as Gen, along with Kimi sat to her right with Joslyn to her left. Paul happily handed her the aux as everyone agreed she had the most well rounded music taste, deciding to just play her curated daylist titled Mellow Monday Afternoon.

A familiar tune by Daniel Caesar began blaring through the car speakers while Paul finally pulled out of parking space, beginning the short journey to the group's familiar hangout spot at a café ten minutes away.

"I am so uncomfortable." Kimi grumbled as he was hunched over, sat on Gen's lap as she held him around the waist, laughing at his discomfort.

"If I knew we were going to hang out, I would've brought my car today." Ollie laughed as he turned in his seat, glancing at Kimi.

"Why not just drive your car every day." Joslyn quirked a brow as he turned his head towards her.

"I live three streets down, I don't get why I would need to drive." He shrugged.

"For scenarios like this." She replied with sass.

"How about get a license yourself then." Ollie scoffed as Joslyn reached forward and flicked his ear. "You piss me off." She grumbled as he shot her a death glare.

"Why am I the group punching bag?" He huffed in annoyance, rubbing his ear that was turning a bright red.

"Well, at first it was Jak." Adeline replied. "But he ... you know... He moved."

"You lot need a rage room." The brunette turned to two girls as they gave him cheeky smirks.

"Oh yeah, you should definitely take us!" Adeline exclaimed.

"And then sad news strikes when Oliver Bearman is found dead during a freak rage room accident." Joslyn jokingly frowned. "When in reality I threw a sharp object at your neck."

"Aw! Keep going and I might think you're in love with me." He retorted sarcastically, catching Joslyn off guard as she quickly grasped Adeline's thigh tightly for support, her cheeks slightly heating up through a flustered expression.

Switching quick and awkward glances at the pair, Adeline subtly slipped her hand into Joslyn's to redirect her panicked squeezes, continuing to spare her friend any potential embarrassment by changing the topic.

"So, Paul!" She said with a grin. "How is your progress with Vivienne?" The girl learned forward, anticipating a response.

"Vivienne?" Paul questioned as she stared at him in confusion through the rear view mirror, his tone catching her off guard.

"Yeah?... Vivienne?" Adeline quirked a brow as he still seemed lost.

"The- The new girl? The one you are so desperately trying to get at?" She said in disbelief as he finally nodded in realization.

"OHHHH!" Paul laughed. "Right. You mean Viv?" He quickly turned his head, glancing at Adeline before turning his attention back to the road.

"Oh!! Sorry! Didn't know you were already on a nickname basis." She snorted, rolling her eyes at the blonde as Gen made pig noises.

"Vivienne! Viv. Whatever the hell her name is, how is it going with her so far." Adeline groaned.

"Things are going really well, actually," Paul exclaimed with evident happiness, his eyes lighting up.

"We even have a date planned for this weekend," he added, grinning mischievously as he stole a glance at the group, who all wore expressions of shock.

"And I start praying again," Genevieve sighed dramatically, eliciting a laugh from Joslyn.

"Nice work!" Ollie chimed in, applauding Paul, while the girls in the car let out a collective groan with Kimi just laughing at the interaction.

"Yeah, she was pretty easy." Paul remarked with a smug smile, exchanging a fist bump with Ollie before Adeline intervened and shoved both of their heads simultaneously.

"Talk about walking red flags." She scoffed as the car finally pulled into a parking space in front of the café.

"You say red flag, but I say rizz king." Paul turned to face Adeline as she and Joslyn shared a disgusted expression before exiting the car, not saying anything to him.

Engaged in hushed whispers discussing the cringe-worthy antics of Paul and Ollie; Joslyn, Adeline, and Genevieve clustered together as Kimi departed to join the other two, prompting the group to form two distinct rows of three as they entered the café.

"Go order." Paul glanced back at Joslyn before she happily went up to the cashier and asked for a fruit tart.

Watching Adeline intently who was practically drooling at the sight of the strawberry croissants, he went ahead and happily ordered two which she overheard. Quirking a brow at him, he insisted he bought hers as a token of compensation and appreciation, telling her to not worry about it.

"What are you playing at..." She asked hesitantly. A shrug from him in response.

"Felt like being nice."

"I'm not writing another essay for you." Adeline huffed, making him laugh. "Let me be nice!"

"You're a freak." She scoffed before shrugging it off, letting him do what he wanted.

"Can you buy my crostata?" Kimi attempted to get Paul to pay for his sweet treat, but the blonde obviously replied, "No."

As he finished paying for the pastries he had picked, the others wasted no time in placing their own orders.

Kimi carried the tray of their sweet treats, continuing to make their way through the lively café. The group's laughter filling the air as they settled into their beloved corner booth that fit them all perfectly.

Well, there's extra space now that Jak had moved away, but they sometimes find themselves leaving a vacant spot for him as if he were still around. And it's only been a year since he went back to America.

"Fruit tart for you." Ollie handed out the dessert items, starting off with Joslyn.

"And strawberry croissants for you and you." He finished, handing the delectable goods to Adeline and Paul who sat parallel from each other.

"This is beautiful." She said happily, quickly taking her phone out for a picture since her camera always eats first.

"Thank you, Paul!" Adeline smiled before digging in and closing her eyes in awe as the whirlwind of sweet and savory hit her tastebuds.

"And suddenly the world is not on fire." She said through a satisfied grin, licking her fingers that were coated in minimal strawberry drizzle and powdered sugar.

"Chill out, it's not going anywhere-" Joslyn cringed as she watched Ollie smack down his chunky chocolate chip cookie. "Nobody is taking it from you."

"Oh shut up." Ollie said through a full mouth, making her glance away in disgust as Genevieve and Adeline shared knowing glances.

"So, mate." Kimi spoke up, making the others turn their heads as he happily ate his small slice of pie.

"Where are you taking Vivienne this weekend?" He quirked a brow as the blonde set down his treat, wiping his hands on a napkin before swallowing his chewed croissant.

"She's new to town. Like she just moved last month." Paul nodded. "Might take her to the touristy spots and show her around."

"How romantic!" Genevieve said sarcastically.

"I know, I know, I'm so romantic." He said proudly as she shook her head. "I wasn't being serious."

"Oh-"

"So, what's she like?" Ollie tried to continue the conversation as the girls mentally prepared themselves since they were about to probably hear the most brain rotting conversation about girls from these idiots.

"Very American. She's from Florida." Paul shrugged. "She likes football a lot... or what she likes to call soccer." He said proudly as the two boys smiled with pride.

"She said she wanted to join the debate team, since she did that back in America..." He trailed off, glancing at Adeline who was savoring her strawberry croissant.

"Tell her to talk to me!" She shrugged before continuing her focus back on her food.

"Yeah, I told her to... since you're like ... the leader or whatever they call you."

"Captain... but yeah..." Adeline nodded with a judgement stare before shaking it off. It's just Paul after all... he's a little slow.

"I invited her to sit with us tomorrow if you guys are okay with it!" He said happily as the group shared glances with one another.

"You never invite girls to sit with us?-" Ollie said in shock as Paul shrugged. "She's different... I actually really like her..."

"Are you saying that because you mean it or are you just really horny-" Joslyn questioned as Adeline nudged her side.

"I mean it!" He defended. "I'd actually be willing to change my behavior if all goes well."

"No way?" Kimi laughed in shock. Him and Ollie looking at each other in awe as Paul rolled his eyes.

"All I can say is that, Vivienne Noble is perfect."
