CHAPTER 32- HOME

Demi's POV

"Okaaay this is it Mia." I cooed, as Nicko opened the door to his house and I carried her in. Mia made a little grunting sound and kicked her legs causing Nicko and I to laugh, "Do you like it?" I asked, my voice high pitched and baby-like. Again, Mia kicked her legs and I nuzzled her nose.

"Babe she's probably hungry." Nicko reminded me, and I sat on the couch, letting her latch onto my breast. About ten minutes later she pulled off and immediately went to sleep in the warmth of my body. Nicko came over and smiled and the sight of us.

"Want me to put a picture on twitter?" He asked, "I'm sure your fans would love to see her."

I shook my head, "I've already promised People Magazine the first pictures of her."

Nicko frowned, "You didn't tell me that? We didn't even talk about that. What if I don't want my daughter to be plastered on every magazine and news sight there is?"

I shrugged, "I didn't think it was that big of a deal!"

He rolled his eyes, "Whatever, just don't be so inconsiderate next time. She's my daughter too."

I gently shifted Mia so she was propped securely against pillows and walked over to Nicko, rubbing his sides and moving closer to him.

"I'm sorry." I pouted when he just shook his head, "Nicko I really am sorry. I mean it's better than us taking her out and the first pictures see of her are paparazzi shots?"

He sighed, "I guess you're right..."

I smiled, "Now can you please kiss meeee?"

He playfully chuckled and leaned down, kissing me sweetly, "Are you hungry?"

I snorted, "I'm always hungry."

He smiled, "Alright go get Mia and I'll make something for us."

We ate the salad and chicken Nicko made while cooing over Mia who sat in her chair blowing spit bubbles and staring at us wide-eyed. After we ate dinner Nicko picked her up and sat on the couch while I went to go shower and change into pajamas. When I went back down, the sight in front of me made my heart warm. Nicko had an xbox controller in his hands, playing some war game while Mia slept peacefully in a tiny ball on his chest.

"Okay i'm definitely taking a picture of this." I gushed, pulling out my phone and snapping the picture, then opening up twitter.

Instantly, I got thousands of retweets and replys, #babylovato was the number one trending topic for a few hours. Soon, Mia blinked her eyes awake and scrunched her nose adorable. For a newborn she was so animated and so cute it made me melt. Seeing Nicko interact with her was such an amazing sight too since he was always such a macho tough guy and now just one look at his little girl made him go soft. Of course I knew he would kill anyone who hurt her but I think actually holding her mellowed his anger and tension out a lot. Mia laid on Nicko's chest for a while, staring at him while he made all of these funny faces and sounds, having me laugh hysterically.

"I swear to God she's the cutest kid ever." Nicko gushed, lifting her up into the air and blowing a raspberry on her tummy.

I reached over and rubbed his thigh, "We did good baby."

He smiled and looked back at Mia, "This is honestly so surreal I never thought this day would come."

I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder, "I know what you mean, I always dreamed of being a mom but now that it's actually here it's like... holy shit this is happening i'm literally responsible for another human's life. It kind of forces you to self evaluate."

He sighed, "I know, she's just so tiny. I feel like if I move too fast or too rough she'll just break into a million pieces."

I smiled, "You handle her amazing baby, it's so cute to watch you two. I don't think I've ever felt so much love in my heart." Nicko chuckled and kissed my cheek, we both fell silent again, just watching our daughter sleep peacefully.

"Well, I think we should hit the hay too." Nicko said, and I nodded in agreement. I hadn't realized how exhausted I was.

"Do you think she'll sleep through the night?"

He raised an eyebrow, "Definitely not."

Turns out, Nicko was spot on. Every time I left Mia's room and was seconds away from dozing when her cry sounded again. I rolled onto my side and sat up, rubbing my eyes tiredly and glaring at Nicko who was in a deep sleep, not hearing anything. For the eleventh time that night I got up and walked to the nursery, picking up a struggling Mia and pulling her close to me.

"Please just go to sleep babygirl." I pleaded, nuzzling her head affectionately. "Just sleep princess." She wasn't settling down, so I gave up, walking downstairs as the clock hit six am. I was tired, and pissed at Nicko for not helping at all. So I laid on the couch with Mia on my chest and scrolled through twitter, struggling to keep my eyes open. At about nine, Nicko stumbled down the stairs and flopped on the couch next to me.

"I'm exhausted."

I rolled my eyes, "Maybe you should try having a baby keep you up all night crying while your partner just sleeps in and doesn't even fucking help." I hissed, careful not to wake the baby.

He bit his lip, "All night?"

"Yes Nicko! All fucking night!!" As I raised my voice I instantly regretted it when Mia stirred and began to wail.

"Here let me take her-"

"No! I've gotten her the past fifteen times might as well get her this time." I stood up and walked into the kitchen, cradling Mia in my arms. Nicko soon followed as I put her in the rocker and wrapped his arms around my waist, pressing his lips to my neck.

"I'm-"

"If you're about to say that you're sorry hold your breathe. I don't want words I want actions." I interrupted, and walked over to the fridge to start making breakfast. Nicko sighed ad turned to Mia, playing with her feet as he cooed in an adorable baby voice.

"Mommy's real mad at me. She doesn't know how sorry I am, and I haven't told her how much I love her yet this morning, so I'm gonna tell you and hopefully she's listening." I tried to hide my smile as I kept my back to him and he continued to speak. "You see mommy over there? She's the prettiest girl I've ever seen in my entire life. I love her so much that it hurts. She makes me so happy all day long. Did you know that? She's the best mommy in the whole world, and I promise I'm gonna be the best daddy too."

I sighed and turned around, "You're using our daughter against me and it's totally not fair at all."

Nicko grinned and walked over to me, biting his lip sexily as he pressed himself against me.

"And if I told you i'm sorry? And that for the next two days you can sleep and i'll get her at night?"

I shrugged, but smirked up at him, "I'd say that's a pretty good deal." He raised his eyebrows and my teeth sunk into my bottom lip as he slowly leaned down, both of us teasing each other as his hands spread across my ass. Our lips met, and I immediately pushed my tongue into his mouth, pulling his hair slightly. Just as it started to get more heated we heard a slight whine behind us and were reminded that we weren't alone. I gently pushed him away and moved to pick Mia up.

"Don't cry baby, momma's here."

Nicko chuckled and kissed my cheek, "So is daddy."
