Chapter 10

< Alexandria's POV >

"A game? What game?" I asked aloud wondering what this crazy boy is up to now.

"Oh, you know. A game that everyone will enjoy," he replied, smirking like a maniac and he looks like some creepy asshole. No offence, really.

"Quit doing that Blaze, you're freaking us out. Just get to the point, damn it," Sharon said in a demanding tone, snapping her fingers in front of his face.

"Fine, let me explain what I said to you innocent beings. We can play games like... truth or dare, two truths and one lie, two lies and one truth, "kill, fuck or marry", seven minutes of heaven, ten minutes of paradise or... maybe you guys have any ideas?"

Wow, almost every game that he said has got something to do with sex and all those kinky stuff.

Almost.

"Eew? Why does everything sound so gross... well except for truth and dare and some of the others. You aren't legit serious about that seven minutes of heaven and ten minutes of paradise thing, right? Wait a minute. Don't they both mean the same thing?" Sharon raised her eyebrows and waited for his reply.

It seems like I'm not the only one who finds the games disgusting. That's good.

"Urgh, you guys are boring. Just do whatever you want," he said before rolling his eyes and went back to his phone.

Feeling bored I decided to venture around his room. Who knows, we could possibly find something much better than this useless man?

I can't understand how he is capable of living in all this filth and old-probably ancient things lying everywhere.

There were even papers that dated back to probably years ago, and there were also books of where the pages have already turned yellow in colour.

It seems that he keeps everything that he has before, good for him because he's wealthy.

His room is thrice the size of my room, he even has his own separate bathrooms.

"Are you really a hoarder?" I asked him.

"What did you say?" he raised his eyebrows at me as if that word has never came acrossed his mind before.

He doesn't even know what a hoarder is. Poor boy.

"Well, a hoarder is someone who keeps a large amount of something valuable which is also kept hidden sometimes."

He stared at me expressionless and blinked a few times.

"Basically, it means that you keep literally everything and you throw away nothing," I tried to explain again and fortunately he nodded his head in understanding and his mouth formed the shape of an "O".

"No, I'm not. I'm just too lazy to clean my room, it's so tiring," he groaned.

"Jeez, it's not really that bad. Just like... give it a try? Don't you feel disgusted to live in this place? There's so much rubbish everywhere and what's this? A pack of UNO cards?"

His eyes immediately widened in shock as he grabbed the cards away from me, making them fall out of the packet and they landed on the floor, causing a mess.

I tried to help him pick the cards up but he slapped my hands away and all I could do was to stare at his strange behaviour.

"What's wrong with you? Alex was just trying to help," Sharon said, glaring at Blaze as he tied the cards with a rubber band and placed them back carefully into the packet.

"Help me? Help me with what? There's no need for her to touch my brother's things. It would be of no use. The past wouldn't chan-"

"Hold on. You have a brother? You have never told me about him. Who is he? Is he older than you? What's his name? How old is he? Where is--" Sharon managed to cut Blaze off, but now Blaze interrupted her instead.

"That's enough. You don't have to know. Why would you care? It's not like he cared when he left me, it's not like he's coming back."

I stared at Blaze and I felt my heart melt upon hearing what he just said. His brother... is gone. And I have just reminded him, what have I done...

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to remind you of your brother, I really didn't. But you know, I'm very sure he's up in the heavens above and he's proud of you. I know he loves you. Of course, he cares--"

"He's not dead! How dare you assume he was dead? He will be alive for as long as I'm alive. And don't tell me what I already know," he screamed at me and I could already see the tears forming in his eyes.

I just simply sat there and looked at the floor. I didn't dare to utter another word.

"Blaze. We're really sorry. Like, really. Ever since we stepped into your room, all that happened was simply bad things. So maybe, we should just leave. Do excuse us," Sharon grabbed my wrist, gesturing me to get up.

"No. You ain't going anywhere. I'm the one who's sorry. You know what, let's just forget whatever that happened. I just like, really hate it when I'm reminded of my brother. Forget it, let's just play with the UNO cards, I don't really have any other board games."

I looked at Sharon, and she looked at me.

She nodded her head at me and I told Blaze that yes we would play with him.

I started shuffling the cards while they just looked and waited.

We distributed the cards in pin drop silence, which made it very uncomfortable.

"So... Which one of you wanna start first?" Sharon asked while looking at us.

"I will."

We turned and looked at Blaze as he put his first card which was a number 4 and it was red in colour.

"But, the winner will decide the next game. It can be anything," Blaze explained and we agreed.

It was my turn and much to my fortune, I got three number fours!
I placed them on top of Blaze's card and they were yellow, red and green in colour.

I intentionally placed the green card on top because Sharon did not have the colour green.

Sharon glared at me and said, "You saw my cards, didn't you?"

I giggled and shook my head as I watched her take about twenty cards from the stack of cards.

After taking four more, she finally got a green card.

But, she was lucky!

She got 7 cards, of different colours, but since they were the same numbers, she was allowed to surrender them.

The card on top now was blue and it was number four.

It was Blaze's turn to get more cards and he said, "No wonder this game is infamously known to destroy relationships."

That's true.

After taking a few cards, he smiled at me and slowly placed a card on top.

It was a "+4" card.

I scowled at him but he winked at me instead.

Asshole.

I took 4 cards and he told me he wanted the colour blue.

Hah, I got three blue cards of the same number.

I placed all three of them then decided to exchange my "+4" card with Sharon and she gave me a yellow number nine card instead.

"Hold on. Did both of you just exchange cards? That's cheatin-"

"Shhh, it's Sharon's turn," I cut Blaze off and clapped my hands in delight when Sharon placed the "+4" card.

"I want the colour green," I told him and he took four more cards than looked at them.

Suddenly, a creepy grin formed on his face.

Shit, does this mean he's winning?

He placed down all his cards, every single one of them, they were all green and all of them were the number one!

Then, I remembered.

He forgot to say something.

"Wait, you forgot to say-"

"Uno. I win."

He threw his cards at us then folded his arms.

"Fine. What game do you want us to play?"

He pondered for a while to think of how to torture us.

"No, let's not play games. Let's watch a movie instead."

"Yes! Let's watch Finding Dory!" Sharon exclaimed in a singsong voice as she started looking for Blaze's laptop.

"Well, since I won, I will decide the movie for us," Blaze said and he took out his apple laptop which was kept on the highest row of his bookshelf.

"But...but Baby Dory. She's so cute!" Sharon exclaimed as she started tugging at the sleeve of Blaze's shirt.

He raised his eyebrows at her and said, "Seriously? That thing looks really fake to me, like why are you falling in love with a baby fish?"

Much to my amusement, Sharon just ignored Blaze and snatched his laptop away from him.

She immediately went to Google Images and typed 'Baby Dory'.

"Oh my god just look at this cutie, her wide eyes...her little fins and oh let's not forget her puffy ass," Sharon started fangirling as soon as she found the cutest picture of our dear Baby Dory.

"Come on, everyone knows I'm so much cuter than that. It's not easy to find a guy like me on the streets. So, don't you think you should fall in love with me instead?" Blaze said to Sharon as he glanced at me sideways.

The hair on my arms stood on ends and I could feel goosebumps on my arms too.

What was he trying to achieve by saying that?

"Liar. Everyone knows you like Alex. Besides, you're making her nervous already," Sharon said while staring at me and giggling.

I felt my cheeks heating up at the very mention of him liking me.

Is it really true?

"Me? Like her? Hell no. What for? You know who I like," he said while staring at me with a sick grin plastered on his face.

I don't know why but I felt like slapping him, what does he think I am? An idiot to fall for someone like him?

"And neither do I like you. I probably never will. You're really rude. Let alone your arrogance," I snarled at him and his expression suddenly changed.

I expected him to be like one of those typical assholes and say something hurtful back but he didn't.

He was pouting, and he looked so unmistakably cute.

I'm serious, I feel like planting a kiss on those chubby cheeks of his.

Oh why did I lie that I would never like him?

"Do you guys wanna watch Finding Dory then?" Sharon asked, probably intending to calm down the situation.

"Yes, I'm watching it. Everyone's okay with it right?" I asked looking at them both but my attention was solely focused on Blaze.

He opened his mouth and tried to say something so I decided that was the perfect time to cut him off.

"Okay, let's watch it then."

While watching all those depressing scenes, I suddenly felt really bad.

Was I being too mean to him?

I mean, this is his laptop after all.

I looked at him and he was...

Crying.

Shit.

Does he hate this movie or what?

"Blaze, are you okay? If you really don't wanna watch this then we can watch something else."

He looked at me and said "How can I not watch this movie? It reminds me a lof of my brother somehow. Just like how Dory misses her parents, I miss Marcus too."

Marcus. Is that who his brother is?

"I feel like a third party here so maybe I should leave. Hmm?" Sharon asked, smiling.

"No, just stay. Let's just all watch this together. And let's all love Dory," Blaze pulled both me and Sharon to his chest and he secured both of his arms on our shoulders.

And so we watched it.

So hey guys, I know I haven't updated in a really long time so I decided to update now 😍😜

And I guess I was a bit crazy because of the gifs but I hope you guys like it?

Anyway, what do you think of Marcus? Is he really Blaze's brother? Is there really a hidden mystery behind him?

Well, you'll only know in the next chapter ;)

Another thing I would like to explain to you my faithful reader is that, this story isn't only about Alexandria's passion of running.

I know that there are many others who are saying that it's strange why there is only one scene when Alexandria is running but they feel that there should be more scenes of such.

Well, if that's what you think then you're not wrong. But you're not 100% right either.

This story is also about Alexandria's and Blaze's life and how they meet and what happens next. I hope this has cleared some of the doubts you had about this book 🌚 🌝
