Chapter 26

I stand in the full length mirror, my dress a pristine crystal white with the veil coveing most of my body.
My baby bump was showing slightly but I didn't mind, I was beautiful with my prism hair curled elegantly and my blue eyes standing out.
"Its almost time Lyra." Arebess says gently and I nod, sadness creepig in.
"Whats wrong?" My soon to be mother in law asks as she raises my veil to wipe away stray tears.
"Why hasn't he found them?" Her face softening in understanding.
"He is doing his best." She says. I sigh and nodd, turning back to look at my reflection.
A loud knock sounded through the room from the door and I sighed.
"I told Alekai to tell the servants to leave us alone." The woman mutters, opening the door.
I ignored what she was doing, but two loud gasps had me turning around hastily, my eyes widening in surprise as I catch sight of Amie and Jaida, my eyes watering.
"Lyra, you look amazing." They both wore the same dress I had planned as my brides maids outfit and I couldn't help but rush to them, the three of us and a group hug as we cried.
"I missed you so much!" I sobb, knowing all our make up was ruined.
"We missed you too!" They say in unison.
"Lady Lyra, your dress, hair and make up will be ruined if you don't get up, we have a wedding to celebrate." Elisa's voice rang through the room, causing Arebess to laugh.
Three other maids appeared and ushered me and my friends, the two who were my sisters by choice, to three chairs to fix our hair and make up.
"So how far are you?" Jaida asks, motioning to my stomach.
"A month." They both smile and my eyes wifen in understanding.
"The next trio of besties." Amie states. But before I could ask her what she meant, the three of us were ushered out of the chairs, my veil lowered, and then we were all led down the stairs and out the front door where I was placed in a carriage drawn by white horses, my best friends seated on the oposite side of me.
I went quiet, soon I would be married to Alekai.
That thought made me smile and as the carriage stoped and a guard came to the door, helping me step down and onto the white carpet.
My friends met me by the door to the church with flowers in hand, my own large bouquet cradled in my arms.
Slowly the doors opened and one by one the two walked past the white curtain, then the curtains split to reveal myself standing there, the crowd whispering about my beauty.
Takig a deep breath I started walking, my eyes finding Kai's as I moved closer to him.
The wedding was a blur because all that mattered was the man standing infront of me.
Our mouths pressed together at the end and the guests cheered for us and I found myself blushing a deep pink.
We head down the aisle together now as husband and wife, stepping into the carriage and paradig through the city so that the capital could see me, their new Queen.
We arrive back at the castle, the guards lining the red carpet with us.
Another priest waited at the end before the door, this time to officiate me as Queen before I could step into my forever home.
Slowly Kai leads me towards the pope and I kneel, listening to his speech and saying the words all Queens must say.
Finally the crown was placed on my head and I was able to stand, the preist backing up to allow me and Kai through.
The doors open to reveal our guests waiting for us, their faces excited as they clap for us.
The rest of the night we danced and ate in each others arms, my mood light and happy.
"I love you." I whisper for the umpteenth time to Kai as we danced in a slow circle.
"And I love you Song Bird." He whispers back before kissing me.
By twelve we were gone for our honey moon.
