I sit on the cold bed pressed in the corner. I don't know how long I have been here but I know that if I don't escape, I will die.
Its ironic how only a month ago I wanted to run away from Alekai, now I wanted to run to him, tell hime everythig that Linnate told me and let him know how muh I love him.
But now that chance is fading.
My stomach growls from lack of food but the nauseous feeling follows it.
"Is some one hungry?" That shrill voice rings clear and I glare at Linnate.
"No." I answer but my stomach protests.
"Oh well, its a good thing I didn't bring anything." The bitch taunts.
"Why keep me here? You win okay." I say sadly, looking at the wall.
"No, I don't win. The old king fucking lied to me about the aranged marriage contract. He made a clause saying that if Alekai found his true love with ten years after becomig King, then I would never be queen. So since you are his true love I have to keep you here until you die." She seethes at me, banging the metal bars on the door.
"So hurry up amd die so that I can get rid of you already." She yells at me and strides away.
I sigh and go back to staring at the wall.
"You hungry?" I turned my head to look at the voice who spoke.
"You! Why would I want anything from you when you helped kidnapped me." I scream out, glaring at the man and watching him flinch.
"Because she took my daughter and said if I didn't help her get rid of you she would kill my little girl." The man looked like he was close to tears and my heart clentched as I thought about what I would have done if it was my own child.
"Then you would have to understand that I need to get out of here." He looks at me puzzled until I slowly rubbed my stomach, his eyes widening.
"Is it-"
"The prince's baby, yes. This is a future prince or princess and if I am left here any longer he may never know." I answer, my voice cracking as fresh tears flow down my face.
"I can't help you, not until I get my baby girl back." His voice is pleading and I nod in understanding.
"But I can say that I get her back BEFORE the corronation. That is the KEY information." He sounds as if he is reassuring me and I frown when he emphasises those two words before he pushes a tray under the door and leaves me in my silence.
I didn't want to eat but I knew I had to, for my unborn child.
Slowly I get up and grab the tray of food, bringing it to my bed where I eat silently.
I hated the silence.
I was about to push the tray back when I rattling sound caught my attention and I stoped, moving things around till I found a hidden compartment with a key inside.
Hope soared inside me as I look at the bronze object. This was my ticket to freedom.
Quickly I take the key and shove it into my pocket before replacing everything on the tray and sliding it under the door, sitting back down on my bed.
No doupt Linnate will come to gloat tomorrow before the coronation, then I can leave and find my way to Kai.
I just had to wait one more day.
