Chapter 2
Hours had passed since breakfast and I had paced the area of my cage three times already. My boredom was getting to me as I kept rearranging the pillows on the bench once they became messy from me lounging on them.
Many well dress people had come to look at me, whispering to themselves and others that accompanied them to this place. It was weird seeing the gawking faces as they sized me up like a rare animal that was on the endangered list.
The first person who had come to look at me was a fat balding man around his fifties, who's face was covered with sweat. He had brought and attendant with him and it was through that man that I had found out they had a display screen that listed my medical history, my childhood growing up, the schools I attended up until I was captured, and the fact that I was a virgin. The last part nearly sent me into a panic attack as the attendant read everything while the fat man stared at me like a hungry predator.
I was actually relieved when a man came up and mentioned my price, apparently to high for the fat man, and the attendant and his boss went on their way to another girl who looked my age. I felt sorry for her as she struggled out of his greedy searching hands, grabbing where ever he wanted, but it was either her or me and I was glad it was her.
After the fat man, the guy -I presume the owner of this place- stayed close by so that he could watch over me. I learned to stay away from the cage bars and not to show much interest in the people. This made it harder for him to sell me by the looks of things and that gave me a small spark of hope.
Around lunch, the maid returned to my cage, bringing a salad and leaving me in silence while I ate. I was tempted to eat like a slob but the manners my mother had drilled in me since I was able to eat on my own stoped me from doing so.
While I ate, I kept an eye on the shop owner, seeing the approval in his eyes as I took care in eating my food like a lady. I knew I had made a mistake in eating like this the momemt I was down and was settled back on the bench while the maid cleaned up amd left silently again.
The staring continued as more people came, some were now parents who had brought their son or daughter with them. It was clear that some had done this as tradition.
Sighing, I closed my eyes and sent a silent prayer that I would be free again and away from this place soon. "Hello little song bird, care to sing a song?" I froze, slowly opening my eyes to see a handsom man in his twenties staring at me, an amused smile on his face while his eyes remained cold and distant.
