Chapter 14
"So what should we do when we get home?" Wait, did I just say home. Alekai apparently caught my words and smiled, holding me closer.
"Well you can take the pups to the library and play outside, I have a meeting to go to so I won't be able to see you till then. Elisa will have everything ready in our room for our pups but the collars and nametags should be on the desk in the library." He replies with and sighs. I could tell he wanted to be anywhere the at the meeting.
"Okay, when will you be out of the meeting? Maybe we can take the pups for a walk together." This got me a breath taking smile and my stomach did a small flutter.
What is wrong with me? I thought, smiling as Alekai leans down and kisses me gently, but with a hint of passion.
"I don't know when I will be done, but when I am I will come get you and we will go out for dinner." My smile grew at his words and I huged him, burrying my face into his chest.
"Sounds like a plan." I whisper, getting a chuckle as he hugs me back, kissing the top of my head. We reached the city and were passing shops, taking a different rout.
"Almost home now Song Bird." I blushed at his nickname for me, looking up at him.
"Why do you call me that?" I ask curiously. He smiles and kisses me gently once again.
"Because you are beautiful and have a beautiful voice." I blush and snuggle back into him, watching as the limousine passes through the palace gates.
Soon it came to a stop at the main doors and I sighed, back to the beautiful prison. Alekai got out first, offering his hand to me and I took it, whistling for the doogs to follow, glad that they did.
"I have a question."
"What is it?"
"How come you don't have a nickname for me? You are my Song Bird, what am I to you?"
I stoped at his words and thought for a moment. I never thought about a nickname for him. He was... What is he to me? That thought goes through my mind, as I look at him, his easy smile starting to fall with disappointment.
"I guess you hate me to much to give me a petname." He sighs sadly.
"I don't hate you." I hear myself saying.
"I used too, I should, but for some reason I don't." I add, sqeaking in surprise as he pulls me close and kisses me, a smile on his lips. I kiss him back smilig as well, my heart skipping a few beats.
"I'll wait for a nickname. I'll wait for as long as you want." His voice is husky as he holds my face gently between his hands, his thumb caressing my cheek.
There was something in his eyes as he looked at me, I couldn't say what, but it made me melt under his gaze.
"Now I have that meeting, but I will find you like I said I would." With that we walked into the palace, Alekai walking one way and I turned another, heading for the library with the dogs taking their time to examine their new home.
"Coal, Prisma, this way." I giggle and turn a corner, the dogs bounding ahead.
They reach the library door first and I take out the key from my jacket, unlocking the door and stepping in.
Elisa was just finishing setting up a giant dog bed while the table held finger food for me. The floor was littered with dog toys and bowls of dog food. Actually it was normal food cooked for dogs.
"Wow, thank you." I say happily, running over and hugging Elisa. This shocked her but she hugged me back, then steped away.
"What are their names?"
"Prisma and Coal."
"Same litter?"
"No, that way if thay have puppies it wont be weird."
This got her to laugh as she bent down and pet the pups.
"They are-"
"Dower Wolves. Rare to find tamed ones, but a smart choice. They are loyal to their to owners." I smiled that she knew so much. We may have had a rough start, but my maid was a good person, and loyal too.
"Would you like to stay and play with us?" I ask, finding the collars and putting them on the pups. They didn't have name tags yet.
"I would love too, but I can't. I have to serve the meeting today." She sighs and I could tell that she wanted to play with the pups so badly. I smiled at a thought.
"Me and Alekai are going to dinner after the meeting, want to watch the pups for us? They will be in here so you can read books and cuddle them by the fire." Her face lit up like a child and she rushed over, hugging me. I laughed and hugged her back.
"Thank you Lyra."
"No problem. Some one needs to watch them and you seem like the best choice. I trust you."
She stayed, played and chat for a few minutes before she left, leaving me alone with the pups.
I grinned and opened the wide glass french doors, running outside with the pups, playing everywhere with them.
Soon the day turned dark and I took the dogs inside, grabbing a cup of hot chocolate and some snacks for me while the pups devour their food.
I grabbed a book from the shelf and sat on the sofa infront of the fireplace, smiling when the pups hop up and snuggle in beside me.
