Chapter 30
Alicia & Peter
Alicia sat stiffly at the kitchen table as Flynn rambled on about an adventure he had gone on in a kingdom called Agrabah. She wasn't really listening to his talk and instead concentrated on the tingly sensation still buzzing on her lips.
It was hours after Alicia and Peter had shared a kiss. It haunted her. The poor girl didn't understand what was happening to her. Her entire body felt hot, her cheeks were still red, and her stomach was full of so many butterflies, she wanted to throw up. Alicia rarely ever got sick. She wondered if she was coming down with some sort of Wonderland disease.
Flynn glanced back at his silent sister before handing her a cup of hot tea.
"Sugar?"
"Honey, please," she responded. Flynn nodded and placed the jar of honey on the table. Alicia prepared her drink silently. Flynn observed his little sister. He cleared his throat.
"There a reason why you're so quiet today?" He asked as he bit into a cream puff. Alicia peeked up at her brother with a frown.
"I'm fine."
"You haven't eaten a single one of the cookies I put out for you. That's how I know somethings wrong."
Alicia glanced up to her brother with narrowed eyes.
"Nothing is wrong," she repeated. Flynn didn't believe her but he decided not to push his sister for information.
"Well anyway, I thought today we could travel to my house! It's not far from here, just a little over the mountain, past Deep Giggle River."
Alicia only gave a low mumble. Her brother didn't want to push his sister even more and took her uninterested answer as a yes. Flynn took off to find Hatter while the princess continued to sit in her chair, unmoved and confused.
For someone as evil as Pan, he was very confusing to poor Alicia. His need to be around her now was more obvious than ever and Ali felt like a fool for not noticing how much time they were spending together. Was it because she enjoyed it whenever he was around that she didn't notice? Was it the newfound freedom that came with Peter being around her?
Whatever it was, it had taken the form of a stolen kiss.
And Alicia was pissed.
As she returned to her temporary room, stomping her feet with every step she took, she continued to feel unnecessarily upset.
"You're angry for no reason."
Alicia scrunched her face as Peter entered the room. She had his back to him and refused to turn around. Her cheeks began to burn with the embarrassment of a thousand.
"I have every right to be angry. You tainted me," Alicia snapped. All she heard was a scoff from him.
"Believe me, darling, you were already tainted."
"For someone as evil as you claim you are, you're more of a dick than anything."
Alicia sat on the bed, finally looking at Peter. He stared back at her with empty eyes.
"Where are you going?"
"Flynn's house. Near Deep Giggle River," she explained. Peter sighed.
"Will you come along?"
"If you want me to," he responded.
"We leave in about ten minutes."

Alicia wandered through her brother's mansion, ignoring the two boys behind her as best as she could.
As much as she enjoyed her brother's company, she was too busy thinking about the incident with Peter Pan.
How cruel fate was being to her.
Flynn's home was anything but homey. It had a sort of abandoned, eerie feeling to it and Flynn soon admitted he hadn't been home in over three months.
"When you travel around and are constantly surrounded by people, it makes it difficult to come back to an empty home. I'd rather spend a night at Hatter's if I'm being honest," he said as he guided the duo to a common room. Flynn left to make the two some tea. Alicia sat on the couch and Peter took the seat next to her but soon stood up to go snoop around her brother's possessions.
Alicia sighed and kicked off her boots. She gave herself a moment to close her eyes and try to relax. The days had been tiring, and she was honestly ready to sleep until the next full moon.
Her peace was soon interrupted when the shattering of glass startled her eyes open. The princess peeked over to see Flynn pushing a broken glass under a rug.
"I'll pick it up later," he muttered as he placed the tea tray down, allowing Alicia to prepare her cup.
"Where's your boyfriend gone off too?"
The princess scrunched her face and stuck out her tongue.
"He is not my boyfriend. And I believe he is snooping through your house."
Flynn laughed and sipped on his drink.
"You know, even though I'm a boy, I'm not oblivious to the sexual tension the two of you radiate."
Alicia suddenly choked on her tea and coughed. She glared at her brother as he howled with laughter.
"That wasn't funny!"
"You should've seen your face!" He wheezed. When he did calm down, Flynn noticed Alicia had fallen once again into deep thought. He had to shake her shoulder to get her attention again.
"I've been meaning to ask you something..."
"Alright. Lay it on me."
"Do plan on returning to Neverland?"
Alicia frowned and looked away. Of course, she had to. It was part of the deal she made with Pan. Although now, it hurt her to think that she had to leave her only blood-related family behind.
But Alicia knew the consequences. If she rebelled against him. Pan would hurt her friends. She couldn't live with herself knowing she would be the ultimate downfall of her kingdom and family.
"Yes. Don't get me wrong, I love that I have more family, but I didn't think I would actually find you. So I guess I always knew I would have to return to Neverland," she said. Alicia didn't bother telling her brother she was basically being held captive. There was no point. Flynn wouldn't be able to do anything.
"But you did find me..."
"I know."
"Then stay here with me."
What bitter sorrow.
For Alicia, what she wouldn't give to stay with her brother. To return to the Enchanted Forest and show Regina that she found more family. It was a pleasant dream.
But in the end, it was a dream that could never be achieved.
~
After shooting down her brother, Alicia waited for Peter to return. When he did get back from his exploring, they were once again ready to leave. Flynn didn't return with them to Hatter's house. He claimed he would catch up later, as he had some home inquiries to deal with. Alicia knew her denial of his offer had hurt him, but it couldn't be helped. She was chained to Peter Pan until the day she ran out of blood.
Alicia decided to avoid Pan for the time being and tried to spend the rest of her day with the Mad Hatter. She drank tea with him and listened to his odd rambles.
Meanwhile, Peter stood inside their shared room. He cast a spell on a mirror and checked up on the lost boys back home.
"Cubby got caught in a net. It took us two days to notice he was missing," Felix informed. Peter rolled his eyes and frowned.
"We'll be back soon anyway. A threat has appeared here in Wonderland. I can't say how much longer I can hide the truth from Alicia," he said.
"Speaking of the Princess... The island has noticeably dropped its magical properties ever since you left. Seems like the island noticed your absence and it isn't pleased."
"How so?"
"Well for one, the other day it was hailing."
Peter was surprised. It never hailed on the island; hell, it never even rained!
The more Felix explained about the strange occurrences that were happening, the more he knew he had to return soon.
"There is one more thing, Pan," Felix said with a low voice. Peter rolled his eyes in frustration.
"What now?"
"We saw a ship off the east shore of the island."
Felix and Pan's conversation ended immediately. Peter wasted no time gathering all of Alicia's things again. He let out an angry breath of air before swinging her bag over his shoulders and hustling downstairs.
He caught Alicia in the kitchen. She was busy scouring the place looking for treats, as she usually was. Alicia's crave for sweets left Peter astonished most of the time. How the princess was able to hold down so many treats was beyond Peter.
Alicia was about to shove a cookie into her mouth when Peter slapped the baked good out of her hand. Alicia was ready to murder Pan on the spot until she looked at his face.
Peter's eyes had darkened tremendously. His face was a bright red and he looked as if he would explode at any given second.
"Don't argue with me. Close your eyes," he hissed. Alicia scoffed and crossed her arms.
"The last time you told me to close my eyes, you stole my first kiss."
"Just close your eyes, dammit!" He snapped. Alicia growled but obeyed. She closed her eyes. She heard Pan rustling through his bag but he didn't say a word.
"Peter, if you try to steal my second kiss, I am going to throw hands, boy, I'm dead serious this time-"
Before the princess could finish her threat, she felt a strange power blown straight onto her face. Her eyes shot open and she let out a loud sneeze.
She wasn't able to curse at Pan, for almost immediately the power's magic began its effect.
And Alicia Knights was knocked out in mere seconds.
