Chapter 18

Sweets & Treats

Alicia Knights enjoyed the small things life had to offer.

Specifically, anything sweet and edible.

She loved cookies, cakes, bread, ice cream, fudge, candy, puddings, and everything else that fell under the category of baked sweets.

So to live on an island where no such things existed was a bit of a sugar withdrawal for her. She was constantly jumpy, on edge, and jittered around to no end.

Peter was growing tired of her.

"Stay still," he growled as Slightly carefully tried to draw some of her blood away. It was her daily dosage that was taken from her.

She just couldn't sit still though. She desperately craved a baked sweet.

"Pan, I'm hungry..." Alicia whined with her drawled out words. Peter let out a hot breathe as Slightly handed him a plastic test tube that was filled with her blood. Pan didn't even acknowledge the young girl, his eyes glued to her blood. He walked away leaving Alicia with Slightly.

Ali turned to face the other lost boy.

"Can you get me some cake?"

"No."

Slightly left immediately. Alicia frowned as she was left to her own sugar suffering.

"Fine. Everyone here can go to hell and kiss the devil's ass," she cursed before turning sharp on the heel of her foot and stomping into the forest that surrounded the camp.

Her hunger slowly driving her away from the campgrounds.

~

She wandered through the jungle, not realizing exactly where she was. Her mind was dazed by the lack of sugar.

Her boots softly crunched the floor underneath her. Alicia didn't really have a plan as to where she was going. She had found some blueberries back near the camp but they hadn't been sweet enough to fill her need.

She continued her journey, mumbling incoherent words. Ali frowned as she checked her surroundings. She found herself in a dark clearing, vines drooping from the trees and the air a bit humid. The young girl began to think her imagination was playing tricks on her when she saw a weird animal staring back at her as it sat on a rock.

It was a furious looking lion but it had its wings tucked against its back. Its eyes met Alicia's and she took a step back.

"I'm seeing strange animals instead of treats," she mumbled and turned around to leave. But the animal began to speak.

"Alicia Knights, the future princess, and queen of the Enchanted Forest."

Alicia turned towards the creature and frowned. Did this thing just speak? Maybe it has some cake...

"You know my name?"

"I know everything that is happening as we speak, what has happened, and what will happen."

Alicia tilted her head. She racked her brain to think of the different creatures she once read in one of her zoology books but she couldn't seem to remember the one that suited the animal before her.

Instead, Ali shrugged her shoulders carelessly and turned on her feet to leave. She was suddenly thrown down by a sudden gust of wind and she buckled to the ground in a heap. She groaned as her body began to ache and glared over to the strange animal. It had risen to its feet, it's long wings extended.

"I don't believe I told you to leave."

"I didn't know I had to ask for fucking permission. What are you, my father?!" Alicia snapped angrily as she stood to her feet once again.

"Of course I am not your father. Then again, you never did meet him, did you? I am a manticore, little one. A descendant of the lion clan and originally from the Indians lands."

Alicia hummed when it clicked in her head that she had, in fact, read about manticores once long ago.

"They call you a Man-Eater."

The manticore chuckled lowly.

"I suppose they aren't wrong," he mused. Alicia's eyes fell to the animals' tail swaying from side to side sharply.

"Shouldn't that mean that I'm in danger then?" She continued. The manticore purred and shrugged.

"Maybe, but I doubt it. You are the only reason why Neverland has magic again. It would be a shame for it to lose it's magical aura again."

The manticore purred some more before turning it's back to Ali.

"You can leave now, child. I see your destiny and I can't determine whether it's good or not. I'll leave it up to the gods to decide."

Alicia scowled. How dare this animal taunt her with her future? With a loud stomp of her foot, Ali turned around and marched out of the clearing, the traces of sweets and candy gone from her mind.

She was now in a bitter mood. She had no treats, no sugar, and was still stuck on the treacherous island.

"This is a terrible place for a lady to grow up," Alicia muttered to herself.

Again, she continued her journey through the jungle. She didn't know where her nose was taking her, but she suddenly smelled something sweet and her body took over as she followed the scent without hesitation.

Alicia hummed softly as she walked through the jungle. She found herself in a rocky cave-like place. Ali could already feel the freezing breeze hit her from the cave. Her brain told her to turn around and run back to camp, but her nose was telling her that the sweet scent was coming from inside the cave.

She groaned once before ignoring the loud voice in her head telling her that she was going to die if she went in there. Alicia gathered up the last of her courage and walked inside slowly, hearing the echoes of water droplets hitting against the rocks.

She scrunched her eyebrows as she looked around, her eyes landing on a dangerous trench in front of her. Ali peeked down to see just a bunch of sharp rocks, waiting for her to fall to her death. Across the trench was a small platform with three bamboo cages sitting on it.

Alicia squinted her eyes. She couldn't exactly make out what was inside the bamboo cages but whatever it was, it smelled sweet and she wanted it. The young girl whimpered as she searched for a way to cross the trench.

"This is going to be impossible," she snapped to herself softly. She was about to start looking for some vines to make a rope but was startled when she heard a voice ring throughout the cave.

"Ali?"

Alicia straightened her back.

"Jack Sparrow? Is that you?"

~

Alicia sat on the rock from the other side of the trench, now truly having a reason to find a way to cross. Not only was Jack in a cage, but in the other two were more of her friends, William Turner and Elizabeth Swan (no relation to Emma Swan).

Alicia had no idea how to cross, no idea how this happened, and no idea where that sweet smell was coming from. Her stomach made a weird noise.

"Do any of you by any chance have a cookie? I smell something sweet."

"What kind of question is that?" Jack snapped. Alicia shrugged.

"A hungry one."

"I think it might be my perfume," Elizabeth said and Alicia sighed sadly. Her stomach sunk in disappointment and she could feel her headache returning to her.

"Are you going to get us out of here, Ali?" Will asked with a grunt. The cage was too small for the poor tall lad.

Without Alicia's magic, it was quite impossible for her to make it across the trench. Even if she did find a rope and managed to make a small bridge or something, it wasn't a guarantee she could get her friends across.

"This is ridiculous. How did you even get here?"

"By ship, of course. We came to rescue you."

"Who locked you in here?"

"We don't know."

Alicia couldn't help but think it was Peter Pan who had trapped her friends. It was his island after all. Ali just wasn't sure what his motive was to take not only a pirate lord but the pirate king herself.

"We're going to die here," Elizabeth groaned. It was truly looking bleak for the pirates so Alicia sighed.

"If you are going to die, I have a confession... When I first met Will, I was very much attracted to him!" Alicia admitted. Elizabeth and Jack gasped loudly.

"What?!" They both exclaimed.

"Hey, you can't blame me, he's good looking!" Alicia defended herself. Will only laughed in appreciation.

"Thank you, Ali, you're pretty too," Will said back. The young girl winked and clicked her tongue before calling out to Elizabeth.

"See, Liz? That doesn't mean we're attracted to each other though!"

"That's enough, Ali, I don't need to hear that! Besides, everyone thinks he's good looking!" Jack snapped.

"Wait, everyone?!" Elizabeth squeaked. Alicia and Jack muttered in agreement, both knowing well that William Turner was a very attractive man that caught the eyes of plenty of people.

"I guess I got another confession... Back when we got engaged, Jack, do you remember when we uh... Did it?"

It was Elizabeth and Will's turn to gasp and Jack nearly fainted as he, in fact, did remember the time when he lost his virginity to Alicia and via verse back when they were only a couple of years apart in age.

"Why would you bring that up, we promised never to speak of that?" He complained but Alicia wasn't done.

"Jack, I know I said it was enjoyable, but it really wasn't."

Jack Sparrow might as well had died on the spot to think his once fiancee didn't enjoy having sex their first time together as a couple. He turned a dark red as Will and Liz began to mutter among themselves.

The pirate was about to yell and pout that she was giving out too much personal information when suddenly the ground shook beneath them. Ali yelped as she tumbled to the floor, her knees bruising against the rocks. She watched as a part of a ledge magically appeared before her, going towards the platform.

Alicia stared at the rock ledge. She cautiously stepped on it, checking to see if the ledge would fall. It sustained her weight and Ali frowned.

"This makes no sense..." She muttered. Jack peeked through the bars of the bamboo.

"... Is it because you said something sexual?"
