PERSONALITY
Hyuk is an incredibly even-keeled person, tending to be reliable and steadfast in his thoughts and beliefs. He's persistent too, always determined to follow through to the end goal, which matches well with the level of passion he has for his work. However, Hyuk is also incredibly awkward—this is mostly due to as-of-now-undiagnosed autism, as he's always struggled with social situations and dealing with others, but he's got a core group of people he trusts and relies on when he needs to.

BACKGROUND

Minhyuk's life was pretty simple. He was born in Ilsan, South Korea, and grew up there. He has an older brother, Daemin, who he really looked up to growing up. Minhyuk did well in school, though he had few friends. Other kids, at least in elementary and middle school, found him to be a little intense and weird. He had some solid friendships, though, and honestly nothing of note ever really happened to him. Well- he has diabetes—type 1, the more manageable type. It's genetic, at least in his family, and as he's been known to be diabetic since he was a kid, Minhyuk has a good handle on it by now.
After high school, Minhyuk went to college. He studied history, as it is a big interest of his, and graduated with high grades. Instead of getting a job as expected, though, Minhyuk decided to... pursue the path of idoldom. He'd always loved music—who doesn't, honestly—and had considered pursuing it when he was younger, but wasn't certain at first. Now, though, with a college degree to fall back on just in case, Minhyuk was willing to try. He tried out for a couple companies, but HQ was the one that really made him excited, and the one he eventually joined. He's been here for the last two years, and loved every second.
