Samantha quickly moved her legs to make her bike race faster. she really wanted to win this race. she had been preparing so hard for this race that she had spent all her free hours after school getting trained. Now sweat was pouring out of her skin under the hot sun but her eyes had the determined look. And then finally it was over.  she had crossed the line and won. She stopped her bike. People must be cheering but she could not hear their voices. It was all lost under the sound of her rapid heart beat. Someone patted her on the shoulder. she looked up. It was her coach, Mike Davidson.

He shouted with excitement,''Mike you did it. You did it!!!!'' He jumped a little in excitement. Samantha smiled at his enthusiasm but didn't bother to correct his mistake.

Afterwards, Samantha went to get her winning shield. She shook hands with all the guests, smiled politely at them. Then carrying her shield she went to her parents. they hugged her,'' we are so proud of you Samantha. so proud.'' she listened tot heir words and felt happiness as these were two most important people in her life.

Chris her father said to mom,'' lets go out for dinner tonight. wherever Samantha wishes.''

Elizabeth her Mom nodded in happiness and engulfed her in a hug again.

Samantha,''Just a moment, I need to speak to my coach for a moment and then we can all go.''

Chris,'' okay hurry up baby.''

Samantha nodded and left to find her coach.

chris turned to his wife and said,'' We have done a wonderful job. she is the best daughter. Thanks chris for this wonderful daughter.''

Elizabeth had tears of joy in her eyes as she looked up at her husband, she felt proud and said'' Thank you Elizabth. We both are lucky.''
