A PURPOSE
A cold breeze caresses my skin that runs through the deepest part of my being.
My mind is in a mess.
But one thing is for sure...
His name kept repeating inside my head.
I mean his name is Shier!
In the entire thousand's of years, no one dared to name the same name as the prince of the Smerte clan. I am sure that if he is saying the truth then I am deeply in trouble.
I get the journal and quickly put my hand in it.
"What an odd name." I heard what Hyria said.
"What are you?" He was shocked for a second, thinking of something. At that moment he just stared at her despite the pain.
"You will not understand me or what I will say to you." she just smiled.
"Try me." Shier inhaled deeply before he opens his mouth
"I am an Angel from the Smerte clan."
"An angel or a fallen one?" She said.
"I am not joking." The rope did not react since it is proof that he decided to tell the truth.
"Okay, I'm sorry."
"We collect tears from pain or cause by feelings that are unpleasant for humans."
"Why?" she said after a silence.
"Because it is our purpose of living." Hyria moved to sit on the chair that is closest to her.
"Are you saying that making them felt the pain to the point of losing someone is your purpose of living?"
At that time Shier is speechless. He didn't know whether to accept it or denied it.
"Where did that question came from?" Shier asked after a moment of silence.
"What do you mean?" Hyria asked innocently.
"We are just a collector for the tears and nothing more."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Since when are you living in the human world?" Shier looked uneasy to every question and the rope seems to get tighter that leaves him the uncomfortable feeling.
"Can you just put this rope out of my body? It's uncomfortable."
"No can do, I don't trust the likes of you."
"I will tell you the truth without this rope and how did you have this rope anyway?"
I moved to face them because I am curious as well. Just who is she to acquire such a precious item from heaven. Only an angel or gods can have that rope, an ordinary human can not use that because it is exhausting once a human touches it.
"That is not your concern at all. "
"It is! Why it have to be you? That not even logical, Your just a human?
"What do you mean," Hyria said. Once again the rope shines brightly and Shier felt that the rope is getting tighter and hotter than before. His mouth shut, his face is red as a tomato and his hands grip tightly.
"Stop this while I am asking nicely," Shier said in a low voice.
I am amazed at what I am seeing. Even I can't probably resist the rope but Hyria is truly an amazing person. She is braver than I thought. The journal is not functioning right. I don't know what is happening in this world.
There is one thing I know.
I am doomed...
I am supposedly hiding and giving my best not to be noticed, but I interrupt something more dangerous. What would I do?
"I said released me..." A cold breezed was released by Shier after his cold low voice said those words. To my surprise, the rope just vanished before our eyes. He released energy that can scare other nonhumans like me. But I have to be alert. if ever, Hyria might be in danger.
Hyria, step back when she saw what happens. Fear is visible in her eyes while he stood firmly however if you will look closely her body is trembling. Especially if everyone felt that aura he was giving.
"Don't be frighten, You saved me and I am indebted to you."
''You are going to kill me," Hyria said, her voice is trembling but firm.
"I am sorry, I promised to tell you the truth. This time I will not hurt you."
"How can I trust you?" Hyria said in a low voice.
"I'm afraid you don't have any choice." Hyria thinks deeply about what he is saying. She doesn't trust him at all. However, he is right. She doesn't have a choice.
"Then speak, Who are you?"
"I am one of the four princes of the smerte clan as I said before, we are having a task for collecting tears. But five hundred years ago, that's two thousand years in the world of humans. My clan just annihilated and almost a few of us survived."
"Then why are you here?"
"I came here to find the truth. In the past, there is a lady who might know why my clan died and I wanted to meet her and ask for it."
"You make it sound like she is not also human."
"Yes, she is not human. She is a lady, a beautiful and dignified angel from the clan of Arthas." Hyria was speechless and so am I. I read this from the journal but hearing it firsthand felt so surreal. It felt so real.
"Then why are you searching in this world. Go to their homeland and ask for that lady of yours."
For a moment Shier's aura changed and silence comes from a fleeting moment.
"I can't, she died that day too." It's a soft low voice as it's just a wind passes through my ears, for a moment I didn't know how to react.
"I... I'm sorry..."
"No, I should be the one saying sorry."
"For what?"
"For sacrificing you without your knowledge."
When I looked at Hyria's face. Tears come down her cheeks however the strange thing was the tears didn't fall down the floor. Every tear drops float and shines at its brightest then vanished into the tin air.
HYRIA'S P.O.V.
His every word hit me to my deepest core where my weakness are all intact.
I was speechless. How can someone say sorry for deciding on their own will, to just throw my life away, as if I am not human who is living in this world?
How can he say it with a dignified and gentle manner at the same time?
Sorry?
For what?
For not even telling me that I was going to die?
Well, at least he gives me insurance for having three million, But am I able to I used it when I died.
With his word, I felt that something in me open up. I felt the pain in me that I accumulated since I was a child. It felt so unbearable that I can't help but cry.
"You are sorry for not telling me? Are you even sorry for sacrificing me? "
"No I didn't, your life has to end one way or another." he said in a very low voice.
"What are talking about?"
Every day I struggled to live because I am unlucky, that even a small stone was enough to kill me. I am doing my best not to die because I wanted to live and be with the people I cherished.
"Your body is not yours alone. You are destined to do this. There is only one end."
"Can you speak slowly? my mind can't keep up."
"Your body is the vessel of Cerez. One way or another there will be no other than you."
"Who is she?" I asked.
"The lady that I was talking about earlier. The late queen of Arthas." I can't help to smiled sarcastically.
"Should I be glad or be honored of what you are saying? Are you telling me that my purpose in life is to die?"
"I understand that it is painful for you human to know this but..."
"Understand? You? For an angel to live in a thousand years I don't care for how many thousand years, however, I don't think you understand what I am going through."
Again, I step back. He is a real jerk. Angel my foot!
"You have to calm down and talk about it cool-headed."
"What do you mean calm down!" I am just freaking out, I am weak in this state. The only strength I have is my will to live. Even the rope I struggled to acquire just vanished into the thin air. How can I calm down...
He walked towards me with the elegant air while I am freaking out. What if he is going to kill me. I mean right now.
Then I felt a pair of big arms enfolded my body hugging me tightly as if securing that everything will be okay.
"I don't know if this will help you."
"How can you do this, When you will be the death of me"
"I told you, I will not harm you in any way." He taps my back gently as if to assure me that what he said is true. Then my tears keep flowing out like a river.
They stay still in that position until I felt light as a feather that falls slowly into the darkness.
