My Two Cents About 'Makulit' na Readers 

I was browsing my FB newsfeed earlier, like 1AM I guess, when I came across this post by Jhing Bautista. 

(kasi di ko pa maisulat yung first short story ko na paranormal. Madaling-araw at natatakot ako! LOLZ! Me and my utak na puno ng cholesterol!) 

I couldn't agree more kay Ms. Jhing. May mga ganyang talagang readers

But I'm happy to say na sa kakaunting avid readers ko, mas lamang ang porsyento na nagbibigay sila nang encouraging words sa akin. Actually, a few of them (few naman talaga readers ko, LOLZ!) ka-chikahan ko both in WP and FB. They were surprised to know that I know their profile pic sa FB, sometimes, even their location (kapag naka-link yun sa WP). Or I remember them making a comment in one of my chapters na tum atak sa akin. Yung iba, kapag first time nag-comment then I say 'Hi' as reply, minsan, I even type in some words to let them know na I pay attention to them, like 'You're a regular voter. Welcome sa comment board'.

Some I get to trust to tell about my personal info even showed them my pics. I created a GC exclusive to them.

Nung reader pa lang ako sa WP, there was this undiscovered writer na lagi kong binabasa ang stories nya. I'd really comment on her UD, but if it's a criticism, I'd send her a PM sa WP. She was very receptive about it. Then there was a time na natagalan ang pag-UD nya so nag-pm ako how was she and conveyed my thoughts na sana okay lang sya. We haven't seen each other in personal, but at some point we became close. She told me something really personal kaya di sya nakakapag-UD. Actually, sya nga ang nag-push sa akin na magsulat nung malaman nya na gusto ko pero kulang ako sa motivation. Reason, I dedicated two chapters in my two of my 'WORKS' to her. We just lost contact because she went on hiatus due to that personal reason. I perfectly understood. So I let her be, kahit sobrang nabitin ako sa mga on-going nya . Haha!

I just want to point out something with this. Sometimes, may contribution din ang writers/authors sa attitude ng mga readers nila. Writers/authors sometimes need to reach out or be a bit 'personal' with their readers. Spend a little time to know a little about them. Lalo na dun sa talagang active sa pag-comment at vote. Para kahit papaano may bond kayo, yung may unspoken understanding kung saan ang limitasyon nya as a reader, and you as the writer.

Well, depende pa rin sa sitwasyon. Sa akin keri yung ganito kasi nga, konti lang naman ang talagang avid readers ko, kumpara sa mga sikat na sa sobrang dami ng mga readers, nakakaloka na sa kanila kung iisa-isahin pa nila ang mga readers nila. LOLZ!

Disclaimer : May pagkakataon rin naman na naiirita ako sa very few readers kapag out of line na. Yung tipong wala na talaga sa hulog. I try to convey tp them how I felt about it in a subtle way pero kung sobra na, well, ibang usapan na yun. Talagang nabi-beastmode ako.
