Ash's pov

We got to the sixth period, and now, we have science sadly😩😩😩😩.

So now, professor sycamore entered the class, well, at least he is not as strict and bossy as professor rowan.

"Good morning class, since today is the first day we will start with something easy, the solar system" the prof. Sycamore said, this is gonna be a loooooooong day😑😑😑.

After he finished explaining.

"OK class now that we have finished are lessons, I want each two to work in pair on a project at home, you can choose anyone you want" said the professor.

I usually go with Gary but since he already went to a girl and asked her, *sigh* typical Gary, well, the only choice left is Serena, but where is she?

"Hi ash!" I heard a voice from behind me which surprised me.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh" I yelled.

"Calm down, it's just me dummy" I look up to see serena standing.

"How about we partner up" she said with a bright smile, I smiled back, I don't know what's up with he smile but I totally adore it, WHAT DID I JUST THINK, CONTROL YOURSELF ASH, SHE IS ONLY YOUR FRIEND.

"Yeah! Sure" I said.

"Great!" She said and went to go to her place.

Then, I see calem heading towards her with a smile, and she............ smiled back? Why does this make me feel a little jealous, I don't understand these feeling, it can't be love, Gary is wrong, I can't fall in love, I just can't.

Serena's pov

After ash agreed to be my partner, I was happy, I don't know why I get these feelings around him, is it possible that dawn and the others are right, am I falling in love?, before I could think about it more, I see calem approaching me with a smile which I returned.

"Hey serena, I was wondering if we could work on the project together" calem said with a desperate look on his face.

Oh no, I have to tell him no.

"Ehhhh, sorry calem, I am already with ash, he and I are working together, so, maybe next time" I said.

"Man, I really wanted to spend more time with you" he said, looking a little sad.

"Why?" I asked curiously.

"Oh, ehhhhhhhhh, to....... get to know you more, yeah you know, cause your
English new student" he said, his face, as usual is red, if I didn't know any better, I would have said he likes me, but nah.

"So, bye" he said disappointed, and asked brock, which brock said yes since all the girls rejected him.

"OK, the groups are...
1-ash and Serena
2-brock and calem
3-dawn and paul
4-may and drew
5-dawn and paul
6-misty and gary
7-clemont and himself (i dont know who to pair him up with), you can work at either your or your partners house, it's your pick, and you have to give me the project............... tomorrow" the professor said, we all groaned because the deadline is tomorrow.

So the rest of the school day was boring, VERY boring, and now, finally, we finally finished it.

"So ash, where do you want us to do the project" I said excitedly.

Ash's pov

That question startled me, I wasn't expecting that, If I said mine, she would find out that I am an orphan.

"Ehhhhm, yours please" I said nervously.

"Why?" She asked curiously.

"Because my house is messy" I said.

"Oh, alright then, let's go" she said, a little suspicious.

"Alright" I said.

While we were walking, my hand accidently touched her hand.

We both looked at each other, my face was bright red, we both pulled away quickly and looked away.

"S... sorry" I apologized.

"It ok" she said.

Man, what is this strange feeling I had when I touched her hand, it like I want to hold it tightly, and never ever let go, i just shrugged it off and continued walking.

We didn't talk cause of the awkwardness, until we finally made it to her home.

"So, this is my home" she said and knocked the door.

It's a bit weird, we just met and I already am at her house, strange huh, I wonder what will her parents think.

Suddenly a cheery looking woman who seems to be at her 30's, she had black hair, and had the same blue eyes serena had.

"Hey mom" serena said

"Hey dear" her mom said, then she looked at me and smiled.

"Wow serena, first day and you already have a boyfriend, I can't believe how fast you are, and he also looks handsome" her mom said teasingly.

Both of our faces went red.

"MOOOOOOOOM, HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND" serena screamed, with a red face.

"Ummmm,  miss Yvonne,  I think you got it all wrong, we just have a project together" I said, hoping she'd stop teasing us.

"That's the beginning of any realationship, oh, and please call me grace or future mother-in-law" she said.

"MOOOOM, STOP TEASING US, NOW WE ARE GOING TO OUR ROOM TO START THE PROJECT" serena said, wow, I never thought serena could be that scary.

"Just make sure you don't do anything inappropriate in you room" Serena's mom said slyly.

"MOOOOM" serena yelled and grabbed my hand and dragged me to her room.

"Sorry about my mom, she can be so embarrassing" serena said.

"Oh.... it's OK, your lucky, you and your mother seem to get along pretty well" I said in a jealous tune, her mother made me remember my mother, and how she'd always tease me near a girl.

"Thanks I guess" she said, a little confused.

"So let's get to work" i said, changing the subject.

"Ok" she replied.

Serena's room was pretty comfy, of course, her room is pink, she has a nice bed, a desk with a computer in it, it reminds of my room, but my room isn't pink, it's blue.

We sat down in front of the computer and started working.

We almost finished, so we decided to take a break.

"So ash, you met my mother, I'd like to meet your mom" she said, oops, I am busted, well she has to know sooner or later.

"Uhhhhm, serena, my mother isn't...... around anymore and neither is my father" I said, bringing that up, it got me depressed, I wanted to cry but I kept it in me, cause of my ego, I don't want to cry in front of her.

"What do you mean "not around" are they in some kind of a trip" she said.

"No Serena...... their gone, as in gone forever" i said, covering my face with my hat.

She finally understood, I knew that because she gasped.

"Oh ash, I am so sorry" she said.

"Nah, it's OK,  you didn't know" I said with a fake smile.

But she knew my smile was fake, then, something unexpected happened, SHE HUGGED ME, it was a great sensation, it was warm, calming and comfortable.

"That's something we have in common" she said sadly, letting a few tears go down.

"What do you mean?" I said, also close to tears.

"I was five years old when my father who I loved so much, left us when he got a new job, but 2 years ago, the building he works in got burnt and....... and......... their were no survivors" she said, and broke down to tears, I hugged her back and started to cry too, we stayed in that position for five minutes, crying in each other's arms, when I broke the silence.

"we both lost people we love, and that's something we have in common, and it will draw us closer to each other, from now on, I will always take care of you, whenever you need me, I will be there for you, I promise serena" I said, rubbing her back to comfort her.

"Thank you ash" she said, smiling and crying at the same time.

We both suddenly get lost in each other's eyes, I started leaning closer, and so did she, I couldn't understand what was happening, I just couldn't stop leaning towards her, we lean closer and closer, our lips inches away when suddenly.....

"Serena lunch is....." Serena's mom entered the room and ruined our moment.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't inturpt anything did i" she said.

"NO YOU DIDN'T" serena yelled.

"Alright I will leave you two lovebirds alone" Serena's mom said.

"Sooooooo, uhmmmmmm, let's continue our project" I said awkwardly.

We finished our project.

"So, I have to go home now serena" I said, not wanting to go but I had to.

"Oh, okay, see you tommorow" she said disappointed.

"See ya" I said and left.

On the way I began thinking.

After today, one thing became clear to me, after our hug and our moment that got ruined, it's all clear to me.............................................. I have a crush on serena.

Serena's pov

Ash left now, I lay on my bed and began to think.

After that hug, that promise he made me and our ruined moment, I am sure now, it's all clear................................................ I have a crush on ash.
