Prologue
If you haven't already noticed, society has this thing with separation. It seems people have to be sorted into these little boxes marking what exactly you are, and where you fit in. Everyone has a box, whether you agree with the sentiment or not. Things are easy when you fit into one of society's categories.
I myself, am "Tall Caucasian male, U.S. citizen, ginger, computer whiz, and nerd." It's been who I was since around Junior High when the dividing starts. They sort through your appearance, grades, and interests until they file away what type of human being you are and move on to someone new.
No one really seems to disagree with the system, seeing as how things run at any public school. Look around and you know who everyone is just through a swift glance. The emos, goths, populars, teachers pets, nerds, geeks, stoners... the list goes on. Like I said, things have always been easier this way. No need for soul searching and conflict if you are assigned who you are supposed to be. It almost reminds me of the sorting hat in Harry Potter. As soon as I joined the coding club in 7th grade I could almost hear the weathered hat shout "nerd!" as if it was deciding my destiny.
Being a nerd isn't all that bad to be honest. When you only spend time with other computer enthusiasts and math geniuses, you don't have to worry about what kind of clothes you wear, or if you were invited to that big party. In our free time we simply discuss movies, go to coding club, or play video games, which I don't mind in the least. The point is, all my life I have been content with who I was supposed to be. The world kept spinning, life dragged on, and everything went as it should at Roosevelt High School.
That is, until she came along.
A/N: Almost have Ch.1 wrapped up, should be out today
