Time to Pick Some Names

Upon finally returning home, you thudded heavily to the ground, a groan escaping your wearied form. The transformation unfolded gracefully, your scales morphing into a symphony of black flutters, with glimmers of gold delicately lining the edges. The confining nature of the space you had just departed weighed on you, but more aggravating still was witnessing the insidious coercion of the human SicoYT, compelling others to conform to his warped ideals.

The disdain for the cramped quarters was compounded by the frustration of observing humans coerced into mimicking his misguided vision. It stirred memories of your own struggles back home with dragon hunters and their relentless pursuit. The disparity struck a chord; no external force drove those hunters to target your tribe or fellow Vikings, making the injustice all the more glaring.

A deep sigh resonated as a talon traced a path down your face, a physical manifestation of the weariness that permeated your very being. Why must everything be so daunting and intricate? I just want to return home soon, echoed your inner musings, the sentiment underscored by a heavy sigh. Yet, a sense of duty, a recognition that they need me, echoed with determination.

Gazing skyward, you noted that the sn still held its lofty position, casting a golden hue over the scene. Despite the internal turmoil, the pragmatic reality of pending classes loomed. Better go, you resolved. With a swift and purposeful motion, you whisked around and took flight toward U.A. High.

"There's Y/N!" Izuku's voice rang out, and a smile touched your lips as you descended onto the solid ground. The green-haired boy enveloped you in a hug, and you reciprocated, a wing draped protectively over him. "I was worried," he murmured into your chest, and you reassured him with a gentle smile, "I was fine, don't worry. And I still am."

You released him, sweeping your wing toward the school where the rest of your classmates waited, concern etched on their faces. "Don't worry about me; I was fine," you assured them. However, your reassurance was interrupted by Bakugo, who, to everyone's surprise, hugged you tightly. "Don't scare us like that again, lizard bastard," he hissed.

A snort of laughter escaped you as your flanks trembled. You nuzzled your snout into Bakugo's spiky blonde hair. "Oh, I am a dragoness, Katsuki. I can't assure you that I won't handle dangerous situations. However, I can protect you all." With a sweep of your wing, you gestured to the rest of your classmates. "Come on, then. A group hug is better than one-on-one."

Despite Bakugo's protests, the others beamed and joined in the embrace. After a moment, you signaled that it was enough, and you stretched before transforming into your human form. Your wings neatly folded across your back. "Now, let's go back to class."

"Now that we have everyone back, it's time to start thinking about your hero names," Aizawa announced as the class gathered in the room. While many of your classmates were enthusiastic, you found yourself uncertain about what hero name suited you. Back home, you were addressed as "Your Highness," "My Lady," or, by Toothless, "My Queen." Your titles were steeped in royalty, leaving you with a unique challenge in choosing a hero name.

Aizawa proceeded to reveal the scores from the recent sports festival, and you nearly jumped out of your seat upon discovering you had claimed the top spot. Pride and a tinge of embarrassment mingled within you. Aizawa, recognizing your achievement, commented, "Well, you won probably all of it, even if you had just one battle, Y/N." Congratulations flowed in from your classmates, and you couldn't help but hide behind your wings, attempting to conceal the blush that rose on your cheeks.

A cheerful voice cut through the air, and you peeked out to find Uraraka standing there, smiling warmly with closed eyes. "Which one will you pick?" she asked. You scanned the list, noting that prominent pro heroes like Endeavor, Hawks, and even All Might (though he was already mentoring Izuku) expressed interest in recruiting you. After careful consideration, you smiled and shook your head. "Probably Hawks, since he's a flying species too," you replied. Uraraka beamed, "Yeah! He's great too!"

As Ms. Midnight entered the room, the time had come to choose hero names. The anticipation in the air was palpable, and you couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and responsibility for the path that lay ahead.

Bakugo made his choice, and Izuku settled on "Deku," a name Bakugo had used since their childhood. You couldn't quite comprehend choosing a name based on a childhood nickname given by a bully, but you admired the sentiment shared between the two childhood friends.

When the spotlight turned to you, Aizawa addressed, "Now onto this class queen, Y/N. Have you chosen yet?" Humming affirmatively, you stood up at the teacher's desk, presenting a canvas with your chosen hero name: "Dragon Hero: Azure." With a wave of your hand, the canvas transformed, the class now bathed in the chosen color. Cheers erupted from your classmates, and even Midnight couldn't help but join in, exclaiming, "That's a great name, Ms. L/N!" Unbeknownst to you, those who noticed Midnight's blush sent her glares.

Proud of your chosen name, you returned to your seat, contemplating that this was just for now. I will be going back home soon enough, you mused, a mixture of anticipation and nostalgia settling within you. The journey ahead promised challenges, but for now, you relished the sense of accomplishment in choosing a hero name that echoed your true essence.
