Awakening the Dragon

You stretched in the sunlight, feeling refreshed after a whole night of sleep.

You jolted awake, remembering it was the day of the Sports Festival. Finally, you could show those mere mortals what you were capable of and put Bakugo in his place. Hah! That would be fun!

You stood up and started to wash yourself as fast as you could. You wanted to look shiny; you were, after all, a queen, and a queen has to keep her reputation shiny and strong. When you were done, you crouched and shot off into the sky through the branches, twirling a 360 and shooting two purple plasma blasts into the air, showering it with purple sparks and making the sonic sound boom across the area. You smiled and closed your eyes before going into a swan dive, controlled, of course. You went just on feeling now. As you fell, you opened your eyes and spread your wings like a firework.

You heard familiar voices calling out, "Woah, look, it's Y/N!" That was Kirishima, no doubt, and you laughed before straightening yourself and digging your claws into the ground, folding your wings calmly. "Ready for the sports festival?" you purred, dipping your head to the mortals. They smiled, and Izuku came over to you, hugging you. You put a talon on him, not seeing the jealous looks the green-haired boy was getting.

"Now that you all are here, it is time to go," said Aizawa briskly. You transformed back to your human form and folded your wings behind your back, giving the raven-haired man a smile that could clearly melt hearts. "Of course, Sensei!" You were emotional, even though on the inside, Aizawa was dying. "Come on then," he called, and all of you walked to the grounds where the sports festival would be held. You awed at the big arena and how many had actually come. You didn't know if there were other students at this school or from some others too.

As you looked around, you noticed that there were many creatures around you. There seemed to be almost as many creatures as there were people in your kingdom. The thought sent shivers down your spine. While you were happy ruling over your kingdom, dealing with dragons was an entirely different story. Dragons were happy, grouchy, and everything in between, while humans walked on two legs and had a different smell.

There is no way they should know that you are a queen. If that were to happen, who knows what they would want to do with you? From what you learned back in your home world, humans were greedy and always took all the loot they could, even if the loot was living and had a family somewhere around. There had been many dragons from your kingdom that had been kidnapped and taken away whenever they were out on the neighboring islands. You would never forgive humans for that.

Perhaps these humans are not like Vikings; they are just normal mortals with unusual abilities.

you sighed and straightened up.

Time to blow them off their chairs.

Present Mic's voice boomed over the speakers, "The first ones up are Y/N and Hitoshi Shinso! Good luck!" You drew your wings back and walked onto the arena, nodding your head at a boy with spiky purple hair and tired eyes.

As you studied him closely, you noticed that his lips were moving. You tilted your head and he said, "You are not going to win." Your eyes flashed and you realized he was trying to use his quirk on you. You smirked before spreading your wings open with a snap. "Oh, what is this?" shouted Present Mic and the whole stadium fell silent. Shinso blinked and muttered under his breath, "Why is it not working?" but you heard him through your twitching ear. "Because I'm a real-life dragon, brainwasher," you teased and charged at him, tackling him towards the white strips of whatever it was that were the bounds.

If you came into contact with them, you would be out.

Shinso grunted and made a futile attempt to knock you back. But you let go of him just as his hands made contact with your wings. You leaped away and landed far from him. "You won't get me over that fast, purple hair," you sneered, but there was a friendly glint in your eye. Shinso didn't know whether to be intimidated or angry.

No one had ever defeated him before, at least not managed to withstand his brainwashing quirk. But you did it. He blinked, then closed his eyes and tried again, but the same result happened. You withstood it, just giving him a pearl of laughter as an answer when he muttered again, this time a bit angry. "Oh, you mortals always think that with greater power comes fame! It doesn't. With power comes responsibility and the obligation to use it to protect others. When you have powers such as yours, don't use them to win." And then you whirled around, your black and white tail whipping out and slapping him straight in the stomach, finally bounding him into bounds.

You hurried to him after Present Mic told the audience that you were checking on the purple-haired boy. "Are you alright?" you asked, helping him up. He grunted and asked, "How...?" You smiled and led him to the doorway so that Recovery Girl could take care of him. "I'm a blood-flesh dragon, my friend. I'm not affected by powers," and then you bowed and walked back to your spot in the crowd to watch the rest of the battle.
