ANNA'S POV

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN HERE!"

My voice boomed in the chaotic room. Everyone suddenly stood standstill once they heard my voice. I guess they understood that I was not in a mood to play games and I meant business. No-one turned around and everyone just bowed their head.

"WELL? I WANT AN ANSWER NOW!"

Slowly everyone turned around and looked at me. I could see some guilty faces and others had determined faces.

Gosh how long was I gone for, I thought.

"Anna, the BlueSparrow gang ambushed our shipment and they have held one of our members captive."  Adam, one of my trained shooters replied.

"And how did that happen in the first place? I clearly remember telling everyone a very detailed plan on how to safely deliver the money to Mr. Rossi's family." My voice dripped of rage. Kidnapping one of the members is unacceptable.

“Boss it looked like they got eyes on us and somehow knew the plan before we even implemented it,” Chase said.

“Chase, see to it that you find who did this, but for now we have to go get our member back,” I said and went straight to my room to prepare for tonight’s attack on BlueSparrow gang.

It’s no secret that they deal with drugs and do not believe in justice and the only way to take them down is to play their way. Tom, their leader is a crooked man and would do anything in his power to get what he wants. Since he knows we don’t deal with drugs and even after many giving many offers for us to join hands with him and us rejecting his idea, he has since decided to take us down.

Tonight, whatever happens, I won’t leave without a fight.

I look into the mirror and imagine what a normal life would look like. A life where Zach would be holding me in his arms from behind and kissing my shoulders. We would be attending neighborhood parties or going to park with Alaia on her stroller. But as soon as those thoughts came, I simply shook my head and focused on the task in our hands.

I started tucking the gun in my waist and knives inside the shirt safely from the eyes of everyone. I also put on my AirPods in my ear and connect it to the phone of Chase. I check the time and by the looks of it, I didn’t take much time getting ready, so we have enough time to come back and continue what we originally had planned to do tonight.

I came out of my room and went straight to the living room where I saw everyone already packing
their weapons and this made me smile, it showed how much I could trust these guys and it gave me another boost of confidence that I have to bring back our own and make sure he is safe.

“Okay so we know he is currently staying in his warehouse dealing with drugs and because he is dumb we can use that to our advantage. The last location of the warehouse is the same one where we went there to deal with his proposal and reject his idea, and I know for a fact he hasn’t changed his address.” I address everyone in the room and could see everyone paying careful attention to my words and they were ready to fight. “But we still have to be careful and plan everything and have a backup too, if it turns out to be a messy situation.”

It took us 30 minutes to decide on the attack plan and everything was finally going on track. We had our backup team ready just a minute away. Our Alpha team which included me and three others would take down Tom and the Beta team, comprising of Jake and five others would go get Alex, the captured member back to safety. It was supposed to be a surprise attack so we knew Tom would be less guarded and Alex would have more people hiding him, hence why it was important for Jake to have more members in his team.

“Let’s go everyone, and remember, show no mercy today. Tom will pay for his deeds. He captured one of us and no matter what, and make sure he doesn’t get to see another daylight,” I said and I heard a yes from everyone.

We took three separate cars and went down the routes which were instructed by Chase through our AirPods and he stayed back to command us of all the possible dangers which included escape routes.

When we finally reached the warehouse, it was dark, too dark which made it pretty obvious that there was a meeting being held here, and there was no doubt it was, Tom, because only he had the guts to deal with drugs this late night in this not so abandoned warehouse.

“Anna, there is only one entry point to this warehouse, so it’s only your team that can enter this building and you would find Tom on that same floor,” Chase said through the AirPods.

“What about Alex, he is our main priority, could you find where he is being held at?” I said quietly and left my car and slowly moved towards the warehouse and stood in front of the gate.

“I don’t have an exact location but the signals are showing some disturbance in the basement, so maybe he is there. You have to check it out on your own.” Chase said disappointedly.

“Hey, don’t worry about it, you did the best you could. We will find him and bring him back safely.” I said. I know Chase, he would act goofy sometimes but he takes his job very seriously.

I look at Jake and signal him to go left and behind the warehouse to find the staircase leading to the basement and save Alex. Meanwhile I have to deal with this bastard, Tom.

Luckily it was all dark inside the warehouse, probably they didn’t want to raise any suspicion, but it was too dark. I asked Chase to hack all the security systems within the warehouse and cut the electricity, this would give us an added advantage.

With one last glance towards my team, I push open the doors and I am suddenly met with gunshots flying all over the place.

I smirk knowing that they could not see my faces yet and speak loudly,

“Hello, boys.”

And at that moment they knew they were fucked up.

Chase knew I had a flair for the dramatics, so he switched on the lights at that exact moment. Three men were surrounding Tom who was now looking at us, and before I could say anything they started shooting at us. I smirked knowing that the fun has just started.

I quickly retrieved my gun from my waistband and started shooting back. I hid behind a barrel and aimed at Tom’s bodyguard who now had a sinister look on his face.

The bullets flew past us and it kept going for a few minutes. The rest of Tom’s crew was alerted and now more men started to join the fight. This has gone for far too long.

Oh fuck it, I thought.

I walked straight to my target Tom, who was now fighting back with his gun. When he saw me, he withdrew his gun and threw it on the ground and everyone knew what this meant, an open challenge to the leader.

“Keep fighting boys, the fun has just begun,” I spoke threw my earpiece and gladly took my knife out of my shirt and turned my head sideways and threw it at the man who was aiming a gun at my head hiding behind the wall.

“I believe you know why I am here Tom,” I said.

“Ah yes, Miss Anna, the noblest of all, you are a very difficult woman to find I must say, but look it seems like you are dumb enough to come here,” Tom said with a menacing glare. “Did you think that by rejecting my offer you would not suffer any consequences?”

“Well Tom, I didn’t know you were that desperate to meet me,” I said with a sinister smirk forming on my face.  “If I knew the level of desperation you had, killing you would have been easier but now that you kidnapped one of us, looks like killing you would be more satisfactory than I previously thought.”

“It’s cute that you think you can even touch a strand of my hair let alone kill me,” He said laughing. “I am pretty sure you ask your men to do your dirty work, I mean why would the princess work huh?”

“Permission to kill him, Anna,” Jake said with anger evident in his voice.

“I agree with him Anna, let me kill him please,” Chase said through the earpiece.

I smirked knowingly.

“Uh oh, I know what that silence means,” Chase said and took a huge gulp of breath.

“Jake, did you find Alex?”
I calmly said cracking my knuckles.

“Yes, I found him injured but he is alive. I am taking him back to the headquarters and I will call for our doctor also. You focus on dealing with Tom.” Jake said.

“Oh, don’t worry about him, I will take my time dealing with him,” I said and looked up straight into his brown eyes.

I ran towards him and dodging the bullets, kicked the gun out of his hand, jumped, and swung my legs on his head and choked him. I held my legs tighter and whispered in his ears,

“What were you saying earlier? Ah yes, you said I couldn’t touch a piece of your hair if I wanted to, well look at that. Let me do the honors and complete that wish for you.” I smiled innocently and grabbed a fistful of his hair and pulled it hard, and saw a handful of black hair on my hand.

“Aww did that hurt Tom?” I asked while making sure that he didn’t reach for his gun.

“YOU BITCH, HOW DARE-“

He couldn’t complete his sentence because an incoming call on my earpiece distracted me from hurting him.

“Oh, be quiet, will you? It might be an important call,” I said and choked him harder because now he was resisting more.

I clicked on my earpiece to receive the call,

“Chase, this better be important because right now I am choking Tom with my thighs,” I said.

“Ouch! How dare you wrap your thighs around and choke me, woman, get off me,” Tom said trying to get out of this uncomfortable position. But years of working out don't just go down the drain.

“Shut the fuck up Tom, I am trying to listen to someone- hey cut it out,”

“Anna?”

A gentle voice coming through my earpiece broke me out of my stance and I recognized the voice, it was Zach.

“Zach, what are you doing awake this late?” I said out of breath because someone couldn’t stop twisting and hitting my back.

“Am I disturbing you? Are you – uhh are you with someone?” He shyly asked.

“No, not exactly, ignore all the useless background noises please, is everything alright?” I said. I could hear the grunts coming from Tom, but unfortunately for him, he couldn’t push me off.

“Are you sure? I can hear a man’s voice in the background, you don’t have to hide it from me, I understand if you are with someone.” His voice became so soft that I could sense his sadness and jealousy.

I feel myself being pushed against a wall which loosened my grip on his hair, and I jump off and land on the ground and smirk at him.

“You don’t need to feel jealous baby, I am currently on a mission and how do I say this, but I am dealing with someone bad?” I carefully chose my words because I didn’t want to raise any suspicion and at the same time not to make Zach worried.

“Oh, so you are trying to talk to him from leaving his bad habits?” He asked.

More like leaving his soul, I thought.

“Yeah that’s what I am doing, enough about me, why did you call this late?” I asked and punched Tom on his face while he was distracted by his men fighting for their lives. He punched me back and I swiped my lip to see blood.

That hurt like a bitch, I thought.

“Um I just wanted to ask if we could- I mean get coffee tomorrow before leaving for office, I would love to spend some time with you, but only if it’s alright, I know how busy your schedule is, actually nevermind umm-“ I cut off Zach with a grunt,

“Sweetheart, breathe for me will you?” As much as I love listening to Zach stammer, right now I have to kill someone.

The next thing I know, I am being thrown against the wall and Tom bending forward to take the fallen gun on the ground.

“Zach, I would love to go out with you tomorrow, just text me the details and I’ll meet you there at say 9 am,” I ask and jump off the ground and reach for a piece of wood and use it as a shield to avoid the bullets being shot at me.

“Is that a gun firing in the background?” I could hear the panic in his voice. “Do you want me to call 911?”

“No babe, listen I am fine, just in the middle of a meeting, don’t worry about me, okay?” I said softly. I pick myself up and using the wood march towards Tom and swipe under his leg when I see he is distracted and pick the gun and face him.

“Time’s up.” I mouthed the words and shot him right between his eyes.

“Okay that sounds perfect, see you tomorrow?” Zach asked.

“Can’t wait, goodbye Zach.” I softly said and cut the call.

I looked around and saw that everyone was looking at the body of Tom and there was silence surrounding us. No one dared to speak and we all knew what this meant. It was the end of Tom’s era and whatever happens now would be in the right direction.

“Jake, send a team here to clean up the mess,” I said.

I drove back home and went straight to see Alex, who was now awake on his bed with a few minor injuries.

“How are you feeling Alex? I am so sorry, it was my fault for not being more careful with the plan,” I said.

“Anna it isn’t, you couldn’t have seen the future plus I am alright now, I knew you would come for me,” He smiled softly. “Now go rest, I am fine now, just need to sleep for a while.”

I smiled back and raised my hands in surrender and stood up to leave but a voice stopped me,

“Anna, if it wouldn’t be much of a trouble, could you do something for me?” Alex asked and he had a sheepish look on his face.

“Yeah of course, what do you need?” I asked.

“Could you ask the chef to prepare mac n cheese for me?” Alex said.

I chuckled lightly and nodded my head and went out of the room.

I had no regrets of killing Tom, it was long overdue because he was a corrupt man and had no morals as a human being. Tomorrow I will take over Tom’s business and merge it with mine and give a chance to all of the remaining members of BlueSparrow whether they want to join our gang, and if they refuse then something else would have to be done.

For now, I am just happy to meet Zach tomorrow and finally, ask him to be my boyfriend hopefully in the most romantic way I can think of in such a short time.
