Plagg Knows Best

Plagg floated around the room anxiously as he waited for Adrien to get out of the shower. He was going to tell Adrien that he should reveal himself to Nino so that they could talk about their double lives.

But Plagg knew his kid. Adrien wouldn't go for this right away. He'd have to convince him. His loyalty to Ladybug was stronger than any previous Chat Noir. An admirable trait, but a frustrating one as well.

Adrien came out of the bathroom freshly bathed and dressed in his pajamas. He walked over and sat down in front if his computer, checking the latest updates on the Ladyblog before bed.

Plagg floated over and hovered in front of the computer screen, blocking Adrien's view and grabbing his attention. "Adrien, we need to have a talk."

Adrien stared at his kwami in confusion. "About what Plagg?"

"You." Plagg replied. "I know you aren't okay kid. Having to always watch what you say around Ladybug and being unable to talk to her about what you've both gone through as superheroes is getting to you. I can see it when I'm with you and feel it when you transform."

Adrien sighed, looking at the picture of Ladybug he had pulled up on the Ladyblog. "What does it matter Plagg? Ladybug said we have to keep our identities a secret no matter what. She'll never sit down and have an actual conversation with me."

Adrien held out his hands and Plagg floated over to sit down. "Keeping your identity a secret is important Adrien, but not as important as taking care of yourself. I think you should talk to someone, someone other than Ladybug."

"Reveal myself to someone else? No way Plagg." Adrien shook his head. "I promised Ladybug to keep my identity a secret. I won't break that promise."

"Adrien, come on." Plagg pleaded. "You need someone to talk to. Besides, Ladybug doesn't have to know."

"Like she didn't have to know about New York?" Adrien scoffed. "You saw how that turned out Plagg. Ladybug was so angry and disappointed in me. She said she didn't trust me anymore and because of that I lost focus and almost permanently deactivated Uncanny Valley with my cataclysm."

"That wasn't completely your fault Adrien. Technolizer threw you at Ladybug and Uncanny Valley deliberately placed herself between the two of you to protect Ladybug." Plagg argued. "And in the end she did forgive you. Besides, even if you had been in Paris, Ladybug wouldn't have made it back in time to fix everything. Technolizer was the bigger threat and the American heroes needed you both to defeat him. Not to mention Hawkmoth was in New York as well. Sometimes the hardest part of being a hero is having to decide who you can save and where you can do the most good. Even with super powers, you can't protect everyone."

Adrien sighed. "I don't want to let Ladybug down again Plagg. I can't bare the  thought of her hating me."

Plagg floated over and hugged Adrien's cheek. "Ladybug could never hate you Adrien. You mean more to her than you know."

"I do?" Adrien questioned. "How do you know that Plagg?"

"Because," Plagg began quickly. "You've seen how relieved she is whenever her miraculous ladybugs bring you back from being taken out by an akuma. She cares about you kid. You're her partner."

"And she can't imagine being Ladybug without me." Adrien smiled, remembering the recording Uncanny Valley had played for him.

Plagg nodded. "She would want you to do what's best for you kid. And I wouldn't bring it up if I didn't think it would help."

Adrien looked at the class picture on his desk. "But who would I tell Plagg? It's not like any of them know what it's like being a hero. Well, except Chloe, but no way am I telling her."

"Good choice kid." Plagg agreed floating in front of him. "But if you want my opinion, I think you should tell Nino."

"Nino?" Adrien questioned.

Plagg nodded. "He's your best friend and he always supports you. Plus I believe he is trustworthy."

"Yeah, but do you think he'll be able to handle the fact that I'm Chat Noir?" Adrien asked.

"Nino will be fine Kid." Plagg reassured him. "Now can I have some cheese before bed? All this sappy talk is making me hungry."

"Sure Plagg." Adrien chuckled,  handing him a piece of Camenbert from his mini fridge. "Now let's get some sleep."

Plagg gulped down his cheese before flying over and laying on his pillow as Adrien climbed into bed. "Goid night Adrien."

"Good night Plagg." Adrien replied, turning out the light.
