Chapter 2 - "I was thinking you were a smart one."

Bendy's POV:

I approached the frozen girl, beaming toothily. She glanced around, no doubt searching for any means of escape, but my ink trap held her fast. The only bad part of this sticky situation (literally) was that since the ink is running out, I had to use some of our limited supply to capture her. Gosh, I sound like a kidnapper now. Well, I won't deny it.

"You probably have no idea how you got here," I started, approaching the human in front of me. "Do you?" I was slightly smaller than she was, but that didn't stop me from intimidating her. I used my tail to reach up and caress her cheek tauntingly, however I didn't press so hard that the sharp part would pierce her skin.

She flinched and looked down, then back up again. Her eyes were filled with something I could easily determine, terror. Although she tried to keep her gaze stern, it wavered often, so I could tell she wasn't very confident.

"You didn't answer my question, dear," I jeered, looking her up and down. She was actually quite cute, with her (h/c) colored hair and (e/c) tinted eyes. Such a shame she found this place, that was her only mistake. All humans are the same, they just want to make us suffer. I could take a long time discussing this topic, but that's a story for another day.

"Well?" I demanded, my probing gaze turning into irritation. "ANSWER ME."

The girl lurched back, as if she could go anywhere, but was stopped by the sticky ink. She bit her lip before shouting one clear phrase, so loud that the sound probably resonated around the whole workshop.

"I don't even know where to start!"

I took a deep breath and glared at the shaking female in front of me, showing no sympathy whatsoever. Yet, I gave her a suggestion, though I don't know why.

"Well, start with your name."

"Okay," she breathed, looking over my head at the pentagram one more time. She didn't make eye contact with me when she spoke, which I honestly couldn't blame her for. Her plump, kissable lips parted as she spoke the identity she was known by, sharing this information with me, the ink demon himself.

I couldn't force my victims to speak so easily, so she must be terrified. Just the thought of my success made me grin.

"My name is (Y/n) (L/n), and I'm pursuing a career of becoming a cartoonist."

My sly smile immediately flipped, turning into a frown with bared teeth. "A... cartoonist?"

"Yes," she nodded, staring at me, confused. "Why? You sound, and look for that matter, angry."

"Oh, you have no idea what you'd be dealing with if you chose to do such a job," I warned her, narrowing my eyes. "But I suppose that won't be a problem, as you're not leaving here anytime soon."

"I-I'm not?" She stuttered, more like a question. I liked that, as it showed I was in control.

"No, you're not," I replied, glancing at her restraints. "Not anytime soon. All you humans are just the same..."

"How?" She wondered. "I mean, we're all our own person, and--"

"That's none of your concern," I interrupted her. "Just as a warning, if you disobey the strict rules I am going to give you, I will not hesitate to punish you severely. If you still haven't learned within the third time you disobey me, I will reward you with a slow and painful death. Are we at an agreement?"

Her eyes widened and she nodded slowly, but then started to protest. "Well, I'm sorry, but you're not my--"

"AM I UNDERSTOOD?" I asked again, teeth sharp and bared. I felt ready to explode, but held back on my feelings, as I could easily let him break through. Instead, I just gave her a stony glare until she agreed, quickly this time, and said nothing more.

"Good," I said, calming down. I felt the urge to let him through dissipate, and I actually felt relieved. "You will feel the same pain we do, and you will accept it. I may or may not kill you, but you're definitely going to live for a... decent period of time."

"Um..." she gulped. "O-okay."

"Trust me, this is nothing compared to the horrors you'll be a part of later," I rolled my eyes, bending to remove the ink from her feet. "Just to be clear, you will not attempt to escape at all when I remove this stuff from your feet. It's prohibited, and that'll be strike one of your punishments. Understood?"

She nodded in response.

"Good," I murmured as I destroyed the rest of the ink. I watched as it turned into an unhealthy clump, slowly turning into a puddle on the ground. I hid my true feeling about the supply, which was fear, and replaced it with a cold gaze. I was good at hiding my real feelings, as I was forced to smile no matter what I felt for years. I feel so free now that I am able to move my face--

Out of the corner of my eye, (Y/n) started to turn, in hopes of getting away. I grabbed her hand and pulled her along, saying nothing as I did. We passed the fallen axe and I snatched it up, holding it tightly as I moved. We came to Utility Shaft Nine, and I shoved the disgusting female inside. I closed the door so she couldn't bolt and cornered her.

"I specifically told you that if you tried to escape, you would regret it," I seethed, anger rising.

"I-I'm sorry--"

"If you were sorry, you wouldn't have disobeyed me in the first place!" I yelled. "Such a shame you already have to face verdict, I was thinking you were a smart one. Apparently I was wrong."

I grinned maliciously and raised the axe. "Oh well, more fun for me then."

I started to bring the weapon down, in one, quick swipe, but (Y/n) shielded herself. "Please don't!" She yelped, tears springing to the ends of her eyes.

I stopped aiming at (Y/n) and looked at the splintered blade. It was sharp, and would surely do an extraordinary amount of damage on its foe. I looked between my trembling victim and the whetted tool before making my final decision.

A throaty chuckle escaped my lips before I continued with the task at hand, her painful screams like music to my ears.
