"How is it she didn't die? You promised she would!" a doctor yelled angrily.

"I know, sir. She is much stronger than we originally thought. She is evolving rapidly, constantly becoming more and more invincible." another doctor explained with a wavering voice. The first doctor backhanded the second, with a roar of anger.

"Either figure out a way to kill her, or you will die." the first doctor said, before walking away. The second doctor nodded and turned away quickly, holding her cold hand and against her slapped cheek.

Mercy opened her eyes weakly and looked around, noticing that her room door looked completely normal  not even a single ding on it. 'How is that possible? I thought for sure it actually happened.' she wondered tiredly. 

Her computer pinged, signifying that she had a new message. She got up on wobbly legs and limped over to her computer, and sat down with a load groan. 

'Mercy,

Are you alright?! I heard they gave you "the test" and that you surprised them. I heard their plan was to kill you, but that you evolved quickly enough to survive the poison. Please write me soon.

She reread his message multiple times, uncertain of what to write back. 'How does he know all this so much?' She realized suddenly that she was doubting his identity. 

'YFP,

I am weak and extremely sore, but I am alive. All I know is that one of the doctors was talking to me telepathically and told me that they were testing my body's ability to heal and fight off the poison. He promised me that they would save me, if I was going to succumb to the poison. How did you know that they were testing me? And how did you know that I had survived it?

She hit send and sat there waiting, too distracted by her pain to notice that something was new in her room. A camera had been added to her room, in the far corner, in a darkened area of the room so she wouldn't see it very easily. 

As she sat at her computer waiting for a response, she slowly succumbed to the pain and fell asleep on her desk.

"Mercy? You need to wake up." A voice said urgently. A strong hand shook her shoulder not to roughly, but it wasn't strong enough for her to want to open her eyes. It wasn't until a cold breeze, unlike any she had ever felt before. She slowly opened her eyes and looked around confused. 'It can't be?!' 

"Where am I?" she asked softly, still looking around in surprise. 

"The forest habitat, they have here in the Institute." he said very matter of factly. 

She stared at him in confusion, and looked around again getting very dizzy. Her eyes closed again, as she lost consciousness again. Her last thought was, 'Where will I wake up next?'
