Sunflower Ambush
No POV:
Adrian was wearing his favorite hoodie and at the bus stop with Tsukune. They are waiting for the others to arrive. Adrian listens to music while Tsukune is walking back and forth.
Adrian: Tsukune, would you please stop walking like that? You're starting to creep me out and we've been in this school for about 4 months.
Tsukune: Has it really been that long?
Adrian: Yep. Time flies when it's one hectic thing after another.
Tsukune: Well with dealing with those who would soon be our friends, the Safety Commission, that guy from the fighting club who wanted to beat me, and Ririko Kagomi going too far helping me when the math finals were coming up, it's been pretty hard to relax.
Adrian: If it'll calm you down a bit, I see Moka heading toward us.
Moka runs toward them and is excited to see Tsukune. Tsukune is also happy that Moka is there as well. Adrian sees them talking and smiles a little at the sight of them being in love. However, he also knows what it's like to be in love since he and Kurumu began hitting it off. Moka and Tsukune sit on a tree branch and Adrian writes a few paragraphs into his book.
Adrian POV
I still can't believe that Nekonome says we're going on a trip to the human world for summer break. But we're not allowed to visit our families, we have to do a report about it for when classes start again. Of course, with my abilities, I can literally just appear back at the apartment just for a quick visit. But I'm not sure about that just yet. Especially since I might need to focus some of my attention to Yukari. When Nekonome mentioned going to the Human World, Yukari has been on edge for days. Though judging by how she told me about witches' connection with nature, I can't blame her since Humanity has been constantly warping the environment. Gin was suppose to join us, but failed so many tests that he has to take summer classes. Luckily, the tutoring I gave Kurumu allowed her to meet average, which is a big improvement from her usual grades.
I see Kurumu come with Yukari and dragging her. So I "Jump" behind them to try and ease things for Yukari.
Adrian: Kurumu, why are you dragging Yukari?
Kurumu: Cause all she's done is whine about how she doesn't want to go.
Adrian: How about you just leave her to me?
Kurumu: But I want to be by your side.
Adrian: Alright fine, but don't say anything to Yukari unless I allow you to. And try to think about what exactly you say. Please?
Kurumu: *Sigh*, Anything for you.
Adrian: Yukari, just stay by me and I'll make sure nothing happens to you. Deal?
Yukari: Hmmmm... Deal.
I see the bus coming and it parks at the sign. We all get on and the Bus Driver speaks to me.
Bus Driver: You think you've seen everything, but you'll only be proven wrong. The world is horrifying place for more than one reason.
Adrian: Don't matter. I've faced more horrors than non-humans.
Bus Driver: I don't doubt that. Not after a talk with an old friend. But I'd still prepare for anything if I were you.
Adrian: I always do. So how the hell do we get to where we're going?
Bus Driver: This long tunnel is connected to various locations in the human world. Some even call it a fourth dimensional Tunnel. That's aslo why so many mysterious things are likely to occur near tunnels in the human world.
Adrian: Well the, let's get this show on the road.
Bus Driver: Fair warning. This means we won't be returning back to the academy for a little while.
The bus starts driving and goes through the tunnel. The last time I was in here, I was staring at the ceiling with my mind all over the place. I must say that it is both ominious, yet pretty. And not innately hostile. Kurumu then sat on my lap and started snuggling up to me. The bus then reaches the end of the tunnels and ends up on a road. Everyone looks outside and see humans and regular buildings even from small towns a few miles away. There's even a fairly big city in the distance. Still not as big as New York in my opinion. Tsukune is clearly thrilled to be back after four months at Yokai Academy, even if it's only temporary.
The bus then goes somewhere into the mountains and I can tell it's not where we were supposed to be going. We then stop near a large field of sunflowers and get off the bus. I must say, I've never seen so many sunflowers before in my life. While everyone is enhoying the sight of it, Nekonome notices soemthing odd about the stop.
Nekonome: Huh? This is a totally different spot than where we had planned, isn't it?
Bus Driver: Well, I thought we should try stopping by this spot for a bit. Currently this is quite a well known spot in the the Human World.
Tsukune: Well known? Oh, for the sunflowers right?
Bus Driver: Negative... For being a mysterious spot where one person after another has been spirited away. Don't you think that in this day and age that being sprited away is quite poetic.
Adrian: Should people be advised to not come here then?
Bus Driver: You'd think, but what's odd is that only certain people disappear. You'd best read the local newspaper for the details. Well, you guys had better be plenty careful not to get spirited away too.
Adrian: Real helpful, man. Real helpful.
Bus Driver: You might wanna put those chains away as well. Something tells me they'll draw more attention than you think. Well Nekonome, why don't we go out to eat? I'll treat you t some yummy fish?
Nekonome takes the bait and goes with the Bus Driver as they drive away.
Tsukune: Whaaa!? Why are you leaving!? Wait! Don't leave us behind!
Adrian: Tsukune, they're already miles away from us. No point in shouting now, as much as this sucks.
Yukari: I can't believe It! What's that Bus Driver thinking! We've been deserted deep in the mountains. What're we gonna do now? I don't like this! I wanna go home right now!
Adrian: Yukari, sorry to break it to ya, but unless that bus is with us, we can't acces the fourth dimensional tunnel to Yokai. Any tunnel we go to would just be a regular tunnel. Besides, it's not like we're in the human cities yet. At least this place is part of nature.
Yukari: I... I guess so. I still don't like this
As Tsukune and Moka try to calm Yukari down, I sense something and turn to the field of flowers. It's the same feeling I get when a Paranatural item or event is happening nearby. Kurumu notices and checks up on me.
Adrian: 'Prometheus, can you sense that?'.
Prometheus: (Unintelligible)
Kurumu: Adrian, are you okay?
Adrian: I thought I felt something.
Kurumu: Does it have something to do with that "Paranatural" stuff you told me about the other day?
Adrian: Are you serious or you still don't believe it?
Kurumu: Hey, I'm here to help you make sure that you're not alone in anything you do. Besides, I have a feeling that Yukari's worries about this place aren't too far off.
Adrian: Glad to hear you're taking her feelings into consideration.
Kurumu: Some I still don't get.
*CAW*
I look up and see a crowing hovering over us. It's like it's actually watching us. I can't help but say something about it.
Adrian: Hey buddy, you got something to ask? Or are you just gonna keep staring?
Suddenly, a vine emerges from the field and wraps around my legs before dragging me.
Adrian: WOAH!
Moka: Adrian!
Kurumu: Addy!
Yukari: That vine took Adrian!
Tsukune: Give him back!
I get dragged a good distance before I shoot the vines with my pistol and free myself. I get up and find myself a little lost due to how tall the sunflowers are. However, I begin to hear growling and see that it's coming from the flowers. I ready myself and I can sense more creatures heading for me. However, a bunch of girls emerge from the flowers.
Girl 1: Oh, hello sir.
Girl 2: Are you visiting the Witch's Ranch as well?
Adrian: Yes, but I think you two should leave. People are disappearing around here.
Suddenly, A large, monstrous plant emerges in the field and frightens the girls.
Adrian: Run, now!
The girls run away, and I prepare to fight, when suddenly a bunch of cards appear and end up hitting the plant. except they actually pierce into the plant instead of flying off.
Yukari: Adrian! I'm here to save... I mean help you fight.
Adrian: What did Kurumu say about you?
Yukari: That's your first assumption? Well... you're no far off. She kinda called me a brat and stuff. It's kind of a long story.
Plant: *ROAR*
I pull out my gun and blast the plant to pieces.
Adrian: Well go back to them. I can handle these damn plants. And I'll talk to Kurumu about being mean to you.
More plants emerge and I keep shooting at them. But they keep coming faster than I can shoot. Soon I am forced to use my swords and chains. I want to use my flames, but I'm afraid I might start an out of control wild fire.
Yukari: Adrian, these Garigarius are going to consume you soon. Can't you use your fire?
Adrian: You want me to burn down the field.
Yukari: Well no. But even I can tell that this situation is pretty bad.
Yukari sends more cards at the plants, but they don't do much damage either. Garigaruis plants emerge from behind Yukari and grab her. I blast them to free her and see more coming toward us.
Adrian: Yukari, run! Go back to the others. I'll fight these bastards off.
Yukari: Adrian!
Adrian: Run, now!
I keep slicing and shooting the plants to buy Yukari time to escape. But she refuses and begins muttering a chant. Her cards begin floating and Yukari uses her magic to give each othe them a pair of wings. She then sends the cards toward the plants and they move faster, able to cut through them. When it was over, all the plants were metaphorical mince-meat. Yukari then looks exhausted and nearly falls, but I catch her.
Yukari: How did I do, Addy?
I can't help but smile and appreciate her efforts.
Adrian: You did good, kid.
Yukari: Hey, in a few more months, I'll officially be a teenager.
Adrian: When that comes, i'll see about treating you a little less like a little girl.
Yukari: I can't wait.
Soon I hear voices and I turn to see everyone else arriving. They express their surprise at the plant carcases on the ground and run up to us.
Moka: Adrian, Are you okay?
Adrian: Yeah. Thanks to Yukari here. She wiped them all out in a single attack.
Kurumu: Thanks for saving Adrian, Yukari. You're not weak after all. I'm sorry for saying all those mean things to you.
Tsukune: This is supposed to be the human world. Why are there monsters here?
The girls I who ran away earlier appeared and gave their gratitude to Yukari for helping them out by killing the Garigarius. After we explain that we're doing a report for school, they offer us a ride to the city and we accept it.

In a building somewhere on the Witch's Ranch, two people are discussing about what happened in the sunflower field.
???: A witch? A witch on our hill?
???: Yes, Lady Oyakata. Despite her youth, she possesses quite strong magic. That witch completely destroyed the magic plants that were entrusted to guard our pricless sunflower field
Lady Oyakata: Well, well. How many years has it been since I last saw a real witch? We must welcome her. We are of the same blood.
???: Another thing, Lady Oyakata. A Parautilitarian was with her.
Lady Oyakata: Another Parautilitarian?
???: I saw him looking in our direction. He must have sensed the Paranatural item we have with us. And he was using chains that seemed to obey his command.
Lady Oyakata: Seems like our "partner" might get a new addition after all. Well, I guess some humans are more useful alive. Retrieve the witch and bring the boy back with you. Can you do that, my dear Ruby?
Ruby: Yes, master.
Ruby then leaves the house and pulls out a wand. She then uses her magic to transform into a crow and begins following the others as they head for the city.
