REAL LIFE!

☆  ━━━━━━━━━━  ☆

Tom pulled his car into the place would be eating lunch. Salem was sending a text to Zendaya at the time, checking in to make sure her and Gus were doing ok. Tom watched Salem, a goofy grin on his face as he waited for Salem to see where Tom brought them. They had agreed on going to In-N-Out Burger but that was certainly not where Tom had brought them. Salem locked his phone and looked over at Tom, the goofy grin still plastered on his face.

"What?" he asked, slowly. Tom pointed a finger to the restaurant while keeping his eyes on Salem. Salem turned his head to look at the building and then proceeded to sit back in the sit and cross his arms against his chest, sassily. "I am not going in there, Tom! It's my day off! This isn't what we agreed to either."

"Ok, in all honesty, I had originally planned to bring you here. The whole agreeing where we wanted to go was a sham. Now, come on, please?" Tom pouted his lip out in attempts to convince Salem to go into IHop.

"You're lucky you're cute, Tom," Salem playfully shook his head in annoyance at the boy before reaching for the door handle. Tom did the say and the boys made their way into IHop.

"Hey Salem!" The woman, Dillon, stood at the front waving at her co-worker. Salem smiled at the girl, waving back to her. "Just two?" She asked, using menu's to motion to the boys.

"Yep!" Tom spoke with a smile, "But I do have a question first."

"Ok, what's up?" Dillon's smile grew as Tom pulled her to the side so Salem couldn't hear them. All Salem heard was Dillon practically screaming, "Of course!" at the end of the conversation before telling the boys to follow her and directing them towards their table.

"So what made you decide to bring to IHop? Tying to make me suffer, huh?" Salem joked after Dillon had sat the menu's down and told them their waitress would be with them soon to get their drinks.

"I'm not trying to make you suffer, Salem."

"No, but really, what made you chose IHop?"

"Remember when I said I had some stuff to tell you because I forgot to tell you at your place?" Salem nodded and Tom continued, "Well, I lied. This was always sort of my plan. I didn't really forget to tell you anything. But I did have a questi—"

"Hi! I'm your waitress for the evening, Quinn! Hey, Salem! How're you? Looking good! Who's your friend?" The woman spoke in an overjoyed rambling voice.

Salem smiled at the woman, "Hey-hey, Quinny! Haven't seen you awhile. We never get put on the schedule for the same days anymore! I'm good, you're looking good. I see you've gained some weight, good for you! And this is Tom!" He motioned towards Tom, his smile widening as he said Tom's name.

"We never get scheduled together anymore 'cause of all the hell we raised together!" Quinn let out a loud laugh and continued, "And yep, I've gained 15 pounds these past two months! And hi, Tom! It's so nice to meet ya!" She pushed her hand out in Tom direction, Tom grabbed it and they shook hands.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you, Quinn," Tom smiled softly at the woman. They pulled their hands away and her hand went to her heart as she looked over to Salem, amazed.

"You got yourself a little British man here, Salem!"

          Salem laughed, "Yes, I do."

"Alrighty, well! What can I get you two to drink? And if you're ready to order I can get your order now too!"

"I'll take a hot chocolate, an order of Belgian Dark Chocolate Mouse Pancakes, and an order of Cupcake Pancakes," Salem spoke, happily. His menu sat at the edge of table since he already knew what he wanted. Tom skimmed over the menu, trying to decide and while he was distracted, Salem added, "And I'm paying for the bill, Tom." Tom didn't hear what Salem said and assumed he was talking to Quinn. Salem looked to Quinn and handed her his card, "Go ahead and just hold my card up there to pay so Tom cant try to, thanks!"

Quinn shook her head and laughed at the boy, "Alrighty, Salem!"

Tom looked up, "Ok, sorry. I'm ready to order. I'll have orange juice and an order of the New York Cheesecake Pancakes."

"Ok, I'll have your drinks right out and your food out as soon as it's ready!"

"Ok! Thanks!" Tom and Salem yelled at the same time to the woman already walking. Then, the boys looked at one another. A moment of silence fell upon the boys. But it was literally only a moment because Salem started talking.

"So you were saying before Quinn came over. You have a, uh, question. . . I believe that's what you were gonna say, right?" Salem placed his hands in his lap, nervously rubbing his hands together and hoping he didn't vomit again.

"Right! Yes," Tom nodded his head and clapped his hands together. He let out a small laugh as he prepared himself, "So I did have a question. It's a sort of important question." Tom paused and Salem nodded as if to silently tell the boy to continue. Both boys were nervous and trying to hide it. Salem was overthinking what the question was going to be and Tom was overthinking what Salem's answer was going to be.

Salem pulled a hand up from under the table, "And that question is?"

"I was wanting to as—"

"One orange juice and one hot chocolate!" Quinn yelled loudly, and obnoxiously, as she took the cups off her try and placed them onto the table. "Can I get you guys anything else?"

Salem shook head head, "Nope! I'm good. Tom?" Tom also shook his head. Quinn nodded and skipped away from the boys and headed to take another tables order. Salem once again looked at Tom, "So the question?"

"Right, right! So I was wonder—"

"Holy shit! You're fucking Tom Holland!" A man in his mid-thirties ran up to the table and turned his head to look behind him. He shoved a finger close to Tom's face, "Shirley! It's Tom Holland, the new Spiderman!"

A faint "Oh my god" was heard from Shirley before she ran over to the table. Tom sent Salem an apologetic smile. Salem smiled back, understanding.

Shirley placed her hands on the table and leaned towards Tom, "Can my husband, Bill, and I get a photo with you?" Tom looked to Salem and Salem nodded.

"Tom you don't have to ask me," he smiled.

          "I know but we're hav—"

          "It's fine, Tom."

"Ok," Tom nodded and stood to take the picture.

Shirley held her phone out towards Salem, "Do ya mind takin' the picture?"

"Happy to," Salem grabbed the phone and scooted out of the seat before standing to take the picture. Tom stood in the middle of Bill and Shirley, all smiling. "Say cheese," Salem sung. Bill and Shirley said cheese and Tom's smile widened at the boy holding the phone up. Salem snapped the picture, "Here you go, ma'am!" He handed her the phone back. Salem moved to sit back down while Bill and Shirley thanked Tom for the photo and said he did great in the Spiderman and Avengers movies. Then, Tom thanked them and sat back down as they walked away.

Tom let out a sigh, "Alright, let's try this again. Salem, I wanted to ask you if you—"

"Mommy! Mommy! It's Spiderman! Look, mommy, it's Spiderman." Tom wasn't trying to seem rude but he allowed his head to fall onto the table just wishing he could finish asking his questions. He adored meeting his fans but he had something extremely important to ask Salem. He knew IHop would have people who might recognize him but he had very sentimental reasons as to why he had to ask his question here. He looked up as the boy and mother stood at the table beside him and be smiled at the two.

"Hi!" He said, cheerly. He looked at the kid who was wearing a Spiderman t-shirt and holding a Spiderman action figure, "Big fan of me, huh?" He laughed. The kid nodded eagerly.

"You're my absolute favorite hero. Ever! I'm your mega-hugest, biggest fan ever." The kid yelled, excited. He bounced up and down on his feet. "My mommy took me to see your movie in theaters four times in one day when it first came out!" The kid held his hand up to show three fingers causing both Tom and Salem to laugh at the kids adorableness.

His mom reached down and pulled another finger up, "That was three fingers, sweetie." She laughed quietly at her child. She looked between Tom and Salem, "I'm sorry we interrupted you. Dean was really hoping to get a picture with you—it's totally ok if you say no."

"No, of course! I would love go take a picture with my mega-hugest, biggest fan ever," Tom grinned as the kid began jumping up and down and screaming "yay!"

The boy pulled on his mother's dress, "Take the picture, mommy! Take it!" Tom was about to get up to stand for the photo when Dean jumped into the Booth and sat next to Tom, a huge grin spread across his face as he held his action figure close to chest. Tom bent down so his head was to Dean's and smiled for the photo.

The woman snapped the photo and then put her phone away, "Thank you. You've my sons day—heck, probably his life." The boy nodded in agreement to his mothers statement after turning to face Tom.

"Thank you so, so, so, so much, Mr. Spiderman!" Dean jumped and wrapped his arms around Tom, taking him by surprise. He hugged the child back and waited for him to pull away first. When he did, he smiled at Tom again, "Thank you!" He giggled before jumping down from the chair and pulling his mother off.

Tom readjusted himself so he was facing Salem, who was watching Tom with a smile. "You wanna try that question again," Salem teased with a chuckle. Tom laughed along with the boy.

"One more time, here we go," Tom took a deep breath, "I'm just gonna skip all the formalities and just ask it. Salem, do you wanna be my boyfriend?"

Salem's eyes widened, astonished that Tom was actually asking him out. He opened his mouth and tried to speak but only found that his lips were moving and no words were leaving. Going on a date was one thing; One really amazing thing. But in no way did he think Tom would be asking him to be his boyfriend the very next day.

With Salem not saying anything, Tom began to get nervous. Afraid Salem was going to say no. Tom tried not to think that—he went on a date with me and has openly made his feelings clear for me, why would he say no? Tom tried to reason with himself.

Finally, Salem managed to get words out, "T—"

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" Quinn popped up at the table with a try full of food, "Whatcha guys talking about?" She wiggled her shoulders, grinning at the boys. Both boys exchanged a look before looking to Quinn and shrugging at the same time. "Alright, fine! Be secretive and mysterious," she giggled, "I've got your good, who's ready to eat?" Quinn sang the last part, wiggling her eyebrows around as she began unloading the food. After all the food was placed down, she clapped her hands together, "Holler at me if ya need anything else! Have fun and enjoy your food!"

Tom immediately began shoving food into his mouth, hoping that Salem would just forget the previous conversation. Now, after all the build-up and interrupting, he was far too afraid to know Salem's answer. But Salem hadn't forgotten and after moving his plates in front of him, he was ready to answer.

"Tom?" He slowly looked up from his food, part of a pancake hanging out of his mouth. Salem couldn't help but to laugh at the sight of the boy looking like a deer caught in headlights, "I would, uh, I would love to be your boyfriend."

With pancake still hanging out of his mouth, and with pancake still filling his mouth, Tom grinned like a fool, "Really?"

          "Really."
