The students are required to buy their own shirt and pants, as it is common sense. However, some families barely scrape by enough to pay for school, so Ilvermorny supplies cloaks, hats and scarves for the winter months. Students buy blue collared shirts of any type. Some choose polo shirts, others wear flannels, still others wear blouses or collared vests. As long as they're blue and they have a collar, it is allowed as your uniform at Ilvermorny. The students also have to buy pants that are gold or blue. 

The girls are supposed to wear pants with their uniforms, as people have different opinions on what dictates "school appropriate" when it comes to skirt length. So they take the safe route and have everyone wear pants that reach knee height or lower. The school supplies a cranberry-colored cloak that is rimmed with gold and fastened with a gold Celtic Knot. The students must place their blue collars above the cloak so that they can be seen. 

The school also supplies thick, soft blue and red scarves in winter, as well as many different styles of hats, all in school colors. At the school shop, students can buy other articles of clothing, such as sweatshirts, varsity jackets, jerseys, jewelry and other things, either from their specific house or from the school as a whole (such as, they have some sweaters that say "Ilvermorny" and others that say "Wampus," as well as other house-specific merch.)
