Founders' Day (aka "Cranberry Day")

On Chadwick Boots birthday which essential marks the first day of classes and unofficial founding of Ilvermorny the students and faculty honor the Isolt, James and the Boot boys with a picnic and games. Classes are cancelled and uniforms are optional.

Outside where Isolt first met and saved William the Pukwudgie everyone sets up, laying blankets on the ground and sharing food they've made themselves in the large kitchens. 

For Isolt they hold a riddle tournament, many riddles having to do with nature, for her affinity for all things natural and her wanting to be a Ravenclaw (who use riddles to enter the common room instead of passwords). 

For Chadwick, because he was a traveller, they play Around the World in 80 Minutes, a combination trvia and obstacle course game where players must answer questions (from things about the founders and the school to random pop culture) in order to move on to the next leg of the obstacle, which is built for the day and different every year. 

For Webster they play Hogwarts trivia because his descendents ended up at Hogwarts. 

Finally for James there is the cranberry pie eating contest. The day is nicknamed Cranberry Day because by the end, most everybody (even some teachers) have mouths, cheeks and noses that are stained cranberry.
